WOW. This place is my all-time favorite Thai restaurant in the Boston area. I've had a few different things here that hit it out of the park every time, but the biggest reason to keep coming back here is that they have a dish I've never seen at any other Thai places: Ba Mee Song Kruang. I had never heard of this dish before but it quickly became a favorite in my household and we always order at least one order of it. Basically, it is described as "thin egg noodles with Thai style roast pork, fish balls, chinese broccoli, bean sprouts, and topped with crispy wonton." It is AMAZING. On top of what's listed, it comes with ground pork in the noodles and a sweet and savory sauce that perfectly coats the egg noodles. There are 3 different kinds of fish balls - a shrimp one, a whitefish one, and a fried one, as well as peanuts, deliciously juicy roast pork (char sew), and the crispy wontons add that perfect extra texture and crunch. Man, if I could eat this every week I would. Easily a 5/5 - this is the only place I've seen this dish and it is out of this world. The menu doesn't contain the dish description, so u need to ask the cashier what the dish contains. This place is a self-serve, you come up front to order and they will call your number for the food. The setup is similar to cafeteria. Personally, I always order Pad Thai when I try a new Thai spot, and I was not too impressed with the quality of the dish. I love some Thai takeout food and Nud Pob lived up to expectations! I placed an order for a couple dishes and within just a few minutes, it was ready for me to pickup. My partner and I ordered pad thai with crispy chicken, pad kee mao with duck, and a thai iced tea. I was blown away by the pad thai - there were slightly less ingredients in this pad thai compared to what some other Thai restaurants serve, but the flavor was incredible. The crispy chicken was also a delicious touch and I love the sweet and sour sauce served with it. I wasn't blown away by the drunken noodles, but they were still tasty. They were a bit too ginger-y for my taste buds, but my partner really liked it. I was a big fan of their Thai iced tea though, it was not overly sweetened but the perfect palate cleanser between dishes. The portions here were very reasonable, especially considering the prices. I went here multiple times a week during my time at BU , and I can say with certainty that this is one of the best Thai restaurants I've ever been to. I LOVE Nud pob. This Thai restaurant is conveniently located in BU central. It is family owned and all of the employees are really nice. Most of their customers are BU students. There's ample amount of seating, but they also offer take out. My go to is their tofu pad see ew. Portions are always generous, and costs about $12.50. They've got a ton of options on their menu, from curry dishes to squid prik pow. Definitely get their thai iced tea too - it's sooo good. Street parking is convenient right outside the restaurant. Ordered here twice. The place is often very crowded during lunch hours so decided to try. The first time, I ordered Pad Thai, which came out to be really bad. I ordered spicy but it didn't have much flavor and the ratio of noodles to other is not good. Perhaps it is not the Thai version so it was not as I expected. I ordered a more recommended dish, the pad kee mao/drunken noodles. This time, it tasted much better with a good ratio of meat, vegetables and noodles. The overall flavor is decent, the spice is combined well with the dish, and you do get a lot of food. Given its convenient location, I can see why people like it. However, compared to other Thai restaurants very closely near by, this place is not as good. The crispy chicken and the meat are not as juicy and it feels quite greasy. Yes. I'm that person that asked what Nud Pob means. It means to ,,hang out" in Thai. If only I could I'd give them 10 stars - this is my hands down favorite Thai place in all of Boston. The food is authentic af and when I first ate the Thai food here, it felt like I was transported back to Thailand. Anyway. The portion size for the price?!? AMAZING. (I mean it's near BU so I guess they are feeding college kids...) Where can you get a thicc pad thai for $9.25?!! The pad thai? Sour. Spicy. Sweet. All the flavors are there. My BFs fave is the crispy basil chicken (which is P good too but I don't like crispy chicken lol). The red curry is also *chef's kiss*, but medium spicy wasn't spicy enough, even for me. I went to BU and I STILL come to Nud Pob 10+ years later. That's how good it is. Big portions, cheap prices, and delicious food! Can't ask for anything more. I usually order the Thai style Pad Thai with crispy chicken, Drunken Noodle, and Chiang Mai Curry Noodle. The Chiang Mai Curry is my favorite thing to order. It's HUGE. Always two meals for me and it's super delicious. The noodle dishes are great as well and I can usually get 1.5 portions out of it depending on how hungry I am. Yo Boston has SO many thai restaurants - its redonk. I've had so many iterations of thai food in this city - some good, some meh, some hardly I would even call thai (hard pass). But I'm obsessed... LIKE absolutely obsessed with nud pob. It tastes like the street food I had in bangkok and chiang mai back in the day and it makes me so happy. I was told this place is super popular among BU students and I can see why - they're relatively affordable compared to other "fancier" thai restaurants in this city but their quality and the love that goes into the food blows me away. There is such a great combination between spciy, salty, savory, and sweet in all of the dishes here. Lay that fish sauce on me baby! I love how most of their dishes come with a fried or boiled egg (yay for extra protein!). My favorite thing here and I low key think I'm obsessed with it is the indonesian fried rice. It's SO savory and sweet/salty and brown in all the right places - also the fried egg on the top is absolutely *chefs kiss*. Their pad thai is hefty and not too sweet - it's not just noodle and has the perfect balance of egg, noodles, meat, and bean sprouts. The flavors in each of their entrees are so unique and different from other thai restaurants I have been to and I'm all for it. I love Thai food and this was the worst I've ever had. I am giving it 3 stars though because the restaurant business is tough. The reason I don't like it is because I've had both authentic Thai food and Americanized and this is neither. For example, the beef rendang which is my favorite dish is supposed to have thick chunks of beef. They are using Chinese style beef taken from some other dish and then just thrown into the rendang. The chicken pad thai had very little flavor and almost no chicken. The portion size was generous. The layout of the tables makes no sense and would be redone. Delicious, quick lunch near BU campus. $11.78 for a Pad See Ew, coming out to $12.5 pre tip. The staff is super understanding of allergies-- they readily accommodated the egg and fish sauce omissions to make the dish vegan. The flat noodles were a little short, which happens when you over boil them and they fall apart, but the flavors were good (not too salty) and there was a decent amount of veggies (though only three or four tofu cubes). There is no music playing, just people having conversations, so it's actually a nice place to study too. Decent number of tables, many people eating solo. Location was close to my hotel and had many positive reviews and they did not disappoint. The crab rangoons were super stuffed with crab goodness and came with a sweet chili oil dipping sauce. The medium spicy on the panang curry was perfect for my Midwest roots, but the spicy level on the basil fried rice gave me some heart burn (but it is totally worth how tasty that fried rice is.) I am glad I also ordered a chai iced tea to help tone down the heat. I think next time I will have to go mild on the fried rice, but I will definitely be coming back!! read more

I got two dishes. A noodle dish and a crispy basil chicken. The noodles were tasty, tho annoyingly under-cooked for wide-noodles. I might go back in the future and request the noodles cooked in the pan longer. I called in my order and when I arrived it appeared that they forgot to place the ticket in the system -- anyways had to wait a rather long time (like 30 minutes). Will use toast-tab next time (if there is a next time). The crispy chicken basil could have had more basil. The noodle dish was good, but even if the noodles were better cooked I don't think it would have had anything better than a 4-star flavor profile. Would like to give it another shot next year, but am not in a rush to go back. 3.9-star food - 0.9-star for service = 3 stars. Will update this if I ever go back. read more

This is an ok hole in the wall at Boston University that I imagine gets busy during the school year as a good cheap eats kinda place. Inside is really no frills, what you see is what you get, simple tables, no decor really... there plenty of good sounding choices, you order at the cashier and wait. I had the pad thai with chicken, good size, tasty flavor, but maybe a tad sweet. We also shared the house fried rice which was good. The chicken satay and gyoza were just ok. The best restaurant I've been to in Boston so far and it's not expensive! As a BU student, nud pob has been a great place to go to have a meal with friends and it's conveniently right in central campus. The workers are all nice and it's not a sit down place, which is good for cutting down costs (though there is seating inside). In terms of dishes, I highly recommend the Indonesian fried rice (the chicken is sooo crispy and yummy), the Tom yum noodle soup (great broth), and pad see you (always satisfying). read more

Serving size is on the bigger side for me and so I usually have left overs to leave with. I've always found seating and staff here is nice.
