    Chicken Bento
    Lourdes R.

Tori Japan was a featured restaurant on Uber Eats so I decided to try it out. I ordered one of the popular dishes, chicken bento box, and an order of spring rolls. It came with 2 spring rolls in the order. The food arrived quickly and was still hot. I would consider this more of a fast food type food vs something I'd sit in a restaurant for. For it being more of a fast food, it was tasty and the temperature was just right. There were no utensils in the bag and I'm staying in a hotel. That was inconvenient because I had to hunt down utensils. The chicken bento box came with chicken, white rice (I subbed fried rice), chicken dumplings, a 4 piece sushi roll, and vegetables. The chicken was tender and flavorful. The fried rice was just ok for me. It had a good flavor but was a little soggy. Maybe because of the sauce the chicken was cooked in and having been packaged and transported. I wish they had included a dipping sauce for the dumplings and soy sauce for the sushi. The spring rolls were vegetable spring rolls. They were lacking in flavor for me, which could have been made up for if there was dipping sauce included. It's possible that sauces were an option for purchase on the app and I didn't pay attention to that. So heads up if you're ordering for delivery, make sure you ask for sauces. I do feel like that would have leveled up this meal. Overall, I'd say 3.5 stars but I'm rounding up to 4 because of the convenience.

Food was good but they gave me a side of vegetables when I paid for and ordered a side of noodles. I also paid for a side of Eel sauce which they did not include.

Ordered 2 Chicken Bento boxes with my wife late night. We took the boxes home to eat and I found a large piece of rock in my bento box and nearly broke my tooth biting down on it. I'm concerned as to how this got in my food and where it could've been.

Chicken and shrimp teriyaki were very good. I also enjoyed the spicy tuna sushi. Delivery was very fast. Will definitely try again!

It was adequately busy but still had seats open. The lunch menu is very affordable! If you can, I'd highly recommend going for lunch instead of dinner. Service was really quick! Received my meal in like 5-7 mins after ordering. Fish was super fresh and I really liked the different textures in the Hoseki Don. I also added in negitoro. They gave me a big clump of it! The second time I went back, I ordered take out so I could eat it at the airport for dinner. I ordered the Sake Maguro Hamachi don, added ikura and negitoro. Again, so impressed with the quality of the fish and the size of it. They didn't skimp out and really enjoyed the thickness of the sashimi despite it only being 3 pieces. It was a very satiating bowl. Cant wait to come back next time again!

The broth was so rich and balanced that I could taste every ingredient listed. The noodles weren't too soft like most places, they were perfect! I also added the onsen egg. My first initial thought: it's warm, soothing and heartwarming. But the more I ate it, it didn't really have much flavor and I don't know if it's because it's chicken based broth. The spiciness also didn't really have much of a kick. And in some bites, I bit into a Szechuan pepper. Not sure what kind of theme they're going for but definitely didn't expect it to have a Szechuan twist. I will say, I very much liked their udon noodles! It was really chewy and soft. I also felt that the onsen egg was slightly too undercooked. I love eggs and I can eat them cooked, runny, etc. but felt like the yolk was so runny it mixed into the soup and didn't really resurface after that. It's a really small shop with bar seating and a few small tables. Expect a wait if you're a big party or quite possibly coming around rush hour. Despite my review, it seems very popular. Service was quick and fast!

Definitely check out Wa Shin for a special celebration, but make sure you book in advance when the reservations come out because they are a hot ticket! We loved every course. They start out with some appetizers and move onto raw fish and finish with some hand rolls and dessert. They can easily accommodate diary free with sorbet for dessert (that was not just boring sorbet). The appetizers were unique and flavorful, and the fish were unique and fresh. We honestly loved every bite. We did get one sake pairing as well and really enjoyed that. They described the flavor profiles perfectly and the quality of the sake was excellent. The chef was also really kind. He noticed someone in our group was not eating much at the very end due to getting full and he offered to use less/no rice to offer a lighter option. At the end of the dinner they also have buy options of unique things to try, or a seconds of some of the other courses. Depending on the time of year they will have different offerings, but we really enjoyed the uniqueness of this. Wa Shin is amazing and we really loved our meal!

We popped in here for a post-movie snack. Even though we came at a pretty inconvenient time for the staff (right before last call and half an hour before closing for lunch), our waitress was super sweet and checked in on us when we were done to see what our favorite roll was. The food came out very quickly, maybe because of the off-hour. We got the seaweed salad (not bad, very cucumber heavy); and an assortment of handrolls (toro, spicy blue crab, spicy scallop, and California lobster roll). Everything about each roll was sublime, from the delicate crispy nori, the slightly above room temperature rice, and the generous cuts of seafood laid on top. My favorite was the toro with caviar. You almost don't need to dip any of these in the accompanying soy sauce, though they do provide that, along with ginger and wasabi. Extensive drink menu too. Loved the offer of a complimentary Lactaid to go with the matchatini that includes cheese foam - this place knows some of their customers suffer from dairy! Dinner has a few more options, though lunch offers slightly discounted sets of three handrolls. There's a description on the back of the menu for how to eat these. I'd love to try their sister restaurant, Matsunori. Parking is tough for this area: if you can swing dinner and a movie, that might be the best deal, as Alamo offers validated parking for I believe up to four hours.
