I was excited to try Yutaka Buffet, a spot my boyfriend used to visit as a kid. It's a classic buffet in Revere offering a mix of Japanese and Chinese cuisine. A Great little buffet... my wife and I had been eating a Kowloon's for years and they have really gone down hill lately, so looking for an alternative, we found this place a few blocks away. Staff was very prompt and polite, a lot on the buffet is fried which is expected, but they had plenty to eat that was not with a lot of healthy options. Just a quick update I guess it's been eight years since my last review . Well things that Yutaka haven't actually changed at all. You still get a ton of sushi it's better than buffet sushi, not high-end, but it's middle of the row quality always a great meal they have a great assortment maybe about 10 different sushi rolls available at all times they usually refill the plate promptly there's many other types of food. Also a great Asian buffet a couple of my favorites that stick out the string beans great flavor. I also enjoy the baby clams and black beans sauce over rice. The salt and peppered shrimp and fish that are fried is fabulous. They have a great selection of fresh fruits in or out of season always fresh. The staff here very polite and I don't believe there's any turnover at all. These women have been here forever. The place is usually pretty clean compared to a lot of the Chinese restaurants parking is no problem as it's located storefront at Northgate shopping center I think you can park a couple cars here give it a try for $20 all the sushi you could eat more freaking fabulous deal read more

...and 10 years later, I was back! Yutaka looked so different from memory. The food bar is small with very little offerings. We visited on a Thursday night around 6pm and it was pretty empty. There were surprisingly a lot more sushi options than I thought - questionable options but the sushi was there. They served several different rolls and two nigiri options: tuna and salmon. Now to the hot foods...the highlight was definitely the seafood. I saw a table with plates of crawfish and clams in black bean sauce. The clams were delicious! I also enjoyed the mussels with a torched cream cheese topping as well. Everything else was subpar but what can you expect? We didn't get to tackle the dessert section because the fire alarm went off as our bellies were filling up but I did see s couple of fruit options and ice cream offerings. read more

It's a decent enough buffet for the price. I was here for a quick lunch on a quiet weekday. Food was pretty decent about what you expected with American Chinese food. Some of the dishes are better than others, I particular enjoyed the cha siu pork, most of the veggie like bok choy and string beans. I thought the seafood like the fish and shrimp weren't that great, even after frying didn't cover up the lack of freshness. The sushi were decent but nothing exciting. It was nice that they still have fruits and desserts though. I tried the melons and dragonfruit and had no complaints on the quality. I mean for $12 lunch buffet its about what I expected. For the low, LOW price of $14 for a sushi buffet, I am in love with this place. They even had salmon and tuna sashimi which had great texture. Quality on par with what I've had at other AYCE places (ie Yamato's). It goes fast though so you have to get it quickly before it runs out. I had lowered expectations for the sushi knowing it was a buffet but I am impressed. Almost all the rolls were great. Overall it's a fairly small place with not a huge selection of food, but all the food I had was appetizing and they had 6 flavors of ice cream which I appreciated.. LoL. You get what you pay for and I'd say it's definitely worth it. Also, some of the one-star reviews for this place are bonkers. If you're expecting five-star sushi and service with custom rolls catering to allergies, maybe don't choose a $14 buffet. Wish I lived closer, because I would be coming here all the time. read more

Honestly, for $14 + $2 for a seltzer this is hands down best lunch stop if you're staying at the 4 points airport hotel. Screw the hotel. Screw McDonalds. I did a dinner buffet here. The food was okay. There was nothing that blew me away. I did like the bok choy. It was fresh and cooked perfectly. The clams were also good. The few pieces of sushi I tried were not good and didn't taste fresh at all. The service was non existent as the ladies were all sitting around and eating during my visit. I had to signal across the room to get my server to come over for refills. I understand everyone has to eat so it's all good just an fyi to what you might experience. This is my family's go to sushi place because truly for the price, the sushi can't be beat. Their sashimi and rice are always so fresh and the servers are very sweet. Sometimes they are overworked so it may take a little time for food to arrive if it's packed but overall they try their best to accommodate. I don't know who these people are that are complaining about a 'small' buffet. It kind of feels like they are either shills or have an axe to grind. I included a picture of the buffet so you can judge for yourself; as I have seen truly small buffets with only 4-5 dishes. Maybe these people think every buffet is supposed to be Golden Corral. I was disappointed that they were not operating the buffet for lunch, But I saw the Makimono special on the menu, three rolls for $10.99. So I stayed instead of getting something to go. I was very pleasantly surprised at how generous the rolls were. A little rice and a lot of filling, and not the other way around. I've been dying for a Chinese buffet, but since Covid my favorites have dropped their buffet. I searched and found this one in my area. The price is right and the selection was OK, though weighted heavily towards chicken and vegetarian options. No beef, but one shrimp dish which was pretty good. If you are black don't even go here. This is the second time I orders thought the Uber eats app from this establishment. Upon arrival a man at the front desk ask to see my phone which I found to be weird because on the application it just state that my order is ready. Next he ask to see my I.d which was left in my car because I run in to pick up my food that I already paid for on the Uber eats application. This is your standard typical Asian buffet and if you love Asian-American food definitely come here! I usually come here 1-2 times a year and each experience is always a good one! For a buffet, the sushi is great. The sushi bar is always putting out fresh sushi and it is always a different selection everytime i go! They have different flavors of ice cream as well for dessert! I don't usually write reviews but I made an account just to review this place. We drove 20 minutes from our hotel to come here because we love sushi and have missed the buffet-style. Everything had the same weird taste, and my lo mein was cold. Our waitress barely spoke to us. They did not come check on us once. My boyfriend's beer was WARM. My water was warm as well. They put ice but it melted immediately. I had my empty cup at the end of the table after I finished it and not once did they come over and ask if I wanted more. My stepdaughter asked for more apple juice but the waitress walked away before she even listened so we had to ask another waitress for more drinks. I had two pieces of sushi that were actually good and that I actually enjoyed. I got every kind and there were two that I ate that were so disgusting I had to spit them out. I haven't spit food out since I was a child. I am not a very picky eater and I love Chinese food and all sushi and I always try new things, but after spitting out the sushi roll I was afraid to go any further. We were extremely disappointed and for the bill to be almost $60 for 3 people was insane. I wanted to complain with how disappointed I was because I left there still starving, but I didn't even bother. I know things are hard with COVID times these days but this was the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant.
