We have a new fave local neighborhood Chinese eatery, and very, very happy they're our preferred Chinese - Cantonese-style. They are reasonably priced and they deliver, and in the age of COVID-19 we're able to keep it local too! First off, I must say their Spring Rolls are not oily or greasy as so many restaurants we've experienced in the valley, and they are tasty and terrific both Pork and my favorite Shrimp! I recently ordered one of my preferred simple dishes of Beef and Broccoli with Lo Mein and it was so Cantonese. The meat was extremely tender with a lot of it, not to mention the superb seasoning with abundant amount of vegies that included carrots, broccoli (of course), not overly heavy on corn starch, just enough ginger, nice amount of garlic - it was terrific. My wife ordered the Crispy Honey Chicken with Fried Rice. Their Fried Rice contained the right amount of onion, garlic, eggs, green onions and bean sprouts, easy on the oil making it tasty, tender and traditional. We were in the mood for Asian this evening and my grandson wanted to go to Panda Express but I wanted something better and I remembered Sun Asian Kitchen. They sat us right away but or food order took a while. They were very busy with takeout orders but once we got our food it was hot and very tasty. Last night my wife and I were celebrating and decided to go have dinner at Sun Asian Kitchen. We have had dinner before at this place and it was ok so we decided to give it another try. I don't know where to start so I'll start where it went wrong. Right after we got sat. We were given some water and told us our server would be here shortly. After about 5 minutes someone came and took our drink order but apparently she wasn't our server and about a minute later a man came by and he seemed rushed, asked for our order but we were still deciding so he quickly left. After a couple of minutes we were ready to start ordering and he ignored us for about 15 minutes before we had to yell at him what we wanted to start with as he ran past us and said "I am very busy, I am the only server" (which was a lie). He took our starter order wrong, we asked for 2 egg rolls and 2 shrimp rolls with Ademame. We only got 1 roll each, and the ademame had tons of salt on top. The server quickly left after dropping off the items and he would ignore us to take our food order for another 10 min. You could tell he was busy because he did not ask for help because there were only 5 tables in use, and all the other employees were available. We hordered the specialty sushy, and we had to wait 30 min for it to make it to our table. Every time we asked if our food would be ready soon he would blame it on the sushy maker and ask someone to check if it was ready, (come to find out he had left it sitting there for 15 min). After we finally received our food, we were completely ignored. The outside lights where we were sitting went out half way through our meal and we asked several employees, including our server, to turn it on since we could not eat in the dark but were ignored as well. 15 min later the manager came and he tried to be "funny" about it, than when we expressed our frustration he cut us off, blamed it on the homeless and walked away with an attitude. Oh! And before I forget! One employee sat down near us and started smoking a cigarrette, I looked at him and he said "sorry" and moved to the other side, of us... two tables away. Two employees got their food and finished before we even received our food. The bill totaled $90+, the edemame had WAY too much salt, the Sushy was warm (I am blaming the server because he left it sitting), and this was the worse service I have had here in Phoenix. I don't know that we will eat here again, for the price and the experience, I rather go somewhere else. read more

Food was average and service was geared towards speed rather an interactive experience which is neither a bad or good thing just simply describing the service. I got here around 1015pm on a Friday night and the place of business closes at 11pm. I notice some of that the staff members were very rude and trying to get people out there as quickly as possible. Which is fine I understand. However, on the customers end it's really bad! They were literally hawking you from the distance and as soon as you were done with a plate they came over immediately to confiscate. On the other hand, food did come out pretty quickly and drinks too. Food was ok. I'd prefer some where else for sushi. read more

Stopped in to get some wonton soup. Soup was just average nothing to write home about, but not bad. We ordered the crab wontons, luckily, no restaurant ever puts much crab if any in there puffs so it's nice and light and anyone can eat it, even if they're not a seafood person such as myself. Our entrée we ordered beef and broccoli light sauce. My sister-in-law I had her serving first and said it was so salty she could barely eat it. So my review is going to be a mixed bag and I'm giving them a 4 based on two dishes and their customer service. The guy working the register was very nice and polite and helpful and that goes a long way. The chicken lo mein and teriyaki chicken were great and maybe I'll be back to get that for my kids. They really liked both dishes and have requested that we order it again. I love soup.. adore it. Make me good soup and I will be back time and again. I ordered wonton soup and egg drop soup. The egg drop soup was very light and light flavored but was ok. Not as eggy as I would prefer but everyone makes egg drop soup differently so it was ok. I added a little salt and it was better. I cannot say the same for the wonton soup. It had an unpleasant flavor and the wontons were disintegrating which I mean they are in soup so.. but no and it would have been salvaged if they tasted good but they didn't. I did not finish it. I'm still on the hunt for good soup as this didn't hit the spot. We have eaten here before many times and been happy so I'm taking this as a one off. Like I said two items were great! read more

Ordered Orange chicken, Volcano Chicken and BBQ pork Lo Mein. The orange chicken was saucy, zesty, and CRISPY! definitely some of the best in the area. The volcano chicken was incredibly flavorful but not spicy enough. Plenty of meat and veggies in the dish. The Lo Mein was a bit expensive for noodles but it was pretty good. The bbq pork was delicious, sweet and savory as should be, and the noodles had enough spring and garlicky flavor yummm! Overall, some of the best Chinese I had out here. I thought to myself, who would know of a good place to grab a quick bite to eat, the answer was simple, my fellow "yelpers" and my fellow "yelpers" were right Sun Asian Kitchen was a nice little find. From the time we entered the restaurant and received a warm welcome to the "Please come again" as we left out experience was very pleasant. The menu offers a wide choice of dishes wuch includes lunch and dinner specials. All the food is fresh and excellent tasting, and the portions are large, I mean really large. You get a great deal for your money! The barbecue pork and noodles, egg rolls, and egg drop soup were really very good. The service is very fast and friendly. Went here today with some friends for lunch and really enjoyed it. I hadn't been to Sun Asian Kitchen in a few years, so I was hoping that the food quality and service were still really good. And it was! There was six of us, but the restaurant was pretty empty, so we got our food pretty quickly. What took the most time was getting the little things like our egg rolls, drink refills, chopsticks, and ginger. Our waitress was very nice though and was moving as fast as possible. I love that the lunch menu was until 3pm and then the happy hour menu started at 3pm. I got their ginger broccoli with chicken and a white peach sangria to finish with the happy hour menu. The ginger broccoli with chicken was delicious, but a little heavy on the syrup. The chicken was super tender and their was a nice mix of vegetables. Also, the price was super good as my total was just $11 and I had leftovers. I plan to eat those leftovers in a little bit here. Also, I may go back and get some more food before I leave! Alright - I am going to update this review because Sun Asian Kitchen is a frequent stop for me. No it's not the best (Chinese) food I have ever eaten. But their sushi is pretty darn great, plus they have a bar, iced mochas (not joking), Americanized Food items, and they deliver. I recently just got their Sushi Salad (Tuna, White Tuna, Mango, Avocado, crisp lettuce, shredded carrots, cherry tomatoes and a spicy sweet sauce) and it was heaven. I am updating my review just because of this. I gotta give them props, since they're in South Phoenix. We're lucky they exist out here. You keep up the good fight Sun Asian Kitchen, and I'll ordering delivery from you (since it's hot and I am too lazy to drive). We called in for Delivery this time but they were short staffed, so we made the trip in to pick our order up. The best Chinese food out there! This is like eating at a high end Chinese restaurant except for its quick and casual. The prices are great, food is fast and quality! They don't use the same chicken all Meals which a lot of Chinese places do. I always reckless staying with the most common orders though. Kung Pau, Orange, Sesame, Honey, broccoli beef, Walnut chicken, you know the usuals-you will never go wrong! The chicken eggs rolls rock, the lettuce wraps are great, sushi is an 8/10!
