Tams is a little hole in he wall off 16th street and broadway. Been coming here for about 4 years now, it usually takes about 20 minutes for your food, but is always piping hot and fresh. Definitely my favorite Chinese place in the valley, everything I've had has always been good.

Place is definitely a hole in the wall but the food was delicious! The jalapeno wings and the fried rice was amazing! The food was prepared fresh! They charge a dollar extra for using a card. The guy taking the orders could have been more friendly and given you more than 1 soy sauce package. Not the plate was stuffed! Inexpensive, good Chinese food for sure!

This is one of those places that the food is ordered, paid and delivered through the same window. There is plenty of parking, no seating indoor or out, all take-out. And the food was very very good, very good. I had #6 I think! Chicken chop suey, fried rice was amazing and a little on the spicy orange chicken and an eggroll for about 15.00. This is a great find. Thank you. The serving is plenty and again the food is delicious

Was craving Chinese food all last night and my manager recommended this place. Don't let the building fool you. The food here is legit. Got the sweet and sour pork combo plate!! The perfect pork!! Flavored well!! Came with fried rice and an Eggroll that didn't last long! Will certainly return for more!!!

Aka the west side window. When I pulled up there was a line of people standing outside and one understand why. Their food is so good, we all know that hole in the wall places have the best everything . If you haven't tried this place, get there.

Omg, so tasty. And the amount is very generous. I have ordered this multiple times. It has always been tasty. I got the combo that comes with fried rice, an egg roll, cream cheese Rangoon and fried wonton.

I heard this was the best Chinese Food is Phoenix and my GOD were they so wrong. The chicken did have really good flavor but the rice was hard, no flavor, light , and bland. They charge $1 extra for onions, $0.50 extra for spicy, $0.25 extra to use a "Debit Card" which is illegal because they aren't suppose to charge you for debit cards only credit cards but no biggie, you know how they do they charge you just for breathing. Make sure you ask how much for EVERYTHING BEFORE ORDERING!!!But overall it was edible but just not the best, it's decent. And they are high as hell $21 for a small side of shrimp fried rice and wings is crazy work.

Do they accept credit cards or is it cash only? Just want to make sure since I saw another review mention that their menu / site is not updated. Thanks ahead of time.

Both from what I remember, but there's a small fee for card.

I was at the window looking at the taped on paper menu and a guy tapped me and asked me if I was in line.... I said yeah, (I mean it was obvious since I was at the window) and I kid you not... he goes Well you better get in line. And sure enough, he shoved his way in front of me to order. So bizarre cuz there was only 1 other guy behind him. I guess he had no manners and needed to be first! Just a super off the wall crowd piled up all around waiting on their food. Another car pulled up to park with his music blasting so loud that the bass was vibrating his car, the sidewalk. It was all terrible. I only stayed because it had such good reviews and another lady told me it was awesome. It's basically a hole in the wall but actually it's a window in the wall. It's a brick bldg w a small window that you talk and order thru. The staff was nice to me and clarified whether I wanted fries w my jalapeño's wings, which I did not, so she saved me $4 bucks. I ordered the #5, all chicken but it had so much breading and very little chicken. Some of the chicken was really stiff like either grissel or just dried out. The number 5 is orange chicken and sweet n sour chicken. With lo mein noodles and friend rice. $22.99.... if you just get 1 entree, it's $20...so might as well try 2 choices. I've got a super bad stomachache from eating about 6 pieces of chicken and 2 spoons of rice. I also got the jalapeño's wings due to the reviews. They are actually excellent and greasy jalapeño's flavor and chicken cooked well. 2 stars for wings but -2 for the heavily breaded other chicken entrees w barely any chicken. At home, I pulled all the breading off and it's really pathetic that it's 7/8 breading and 1/8 chicken. I didn't see any non fried / breaded chicken and it didn't seem like a good idea to order pork or shrimp from here. I'm sorry I didn't see the review recommendation for hot spicy chicken and I didn't see it on the menu. But it's a full big page menu. I basically wanted to choose from combo so I could get rice and noodles. I will agree that it's big portions of all of it. I'm basically going to eat the rice and noodles w my own chicken cutlet for work lunches. And I'll give the chicken out of the breading to the stray cats. I waited 50 minutes for my order, which was fine with me cuz I'm aware it's popular. But dang, it's a wild place.

It's probably the fanciest Chinese restaurant I've been to in AZ. The lunch menu is excellent and quite impressive! There are 8 entrees to choose along with a side for only $20. What's crazy is that a full size seafood and wagyu beef belly jjampong is a side! They're regularly $24 so it's a crazy deal to get an additional entree!! We ordered seafood jjampong and wagyu beef jjampong as sides and genghis khan beef and chili garlic fried chicken as mains. The jjampong had that great umami taste without the oiliness that's unavoidable at other restaurants. The ingredients felt very premium and fresh. Ghengis khan beef pieces were very generous and tender with a savory sauce. Chili garlic chicken was a tad salty for me but had great crisp. Service was impeccable and one you'd expect from an upscale restaurant. I can't wait to go back to try other dishes from the lunch menu. I also want to try their happy hour that's available everyday from 4-7PM. All the food items are only $7 and variety looks amazing.

To be clear, I am a New Yorker and know good fast Chinese food. The ambiance was promising. It looked like I was finally going to find what I've been looking for in Phoenix for years. For whatever reason, Chinese restaurants in Arizona serve egg hockey pucks and cover it with various items and call it egg foo young. I even asked about it before I ordered it. Alas when I got home and saw what I had, I was disappointed. It's faster to make it this way but the egg hockey puck had no taste - zero. They could have at least added oyster sauce, a little soy sauce, maybe nam plah, and perhaps sesame oil. It was tasteless. A complete miss. I also ordered something simple, shrimp spring rolls. They were delicious! I inhaled them and will order them again. I'd go again just for the spring rolls. Maybe they have other dishes that are good and I may not entirely give up but the egg foo young is a no go.

Gotta support local when you can I say! The menu is pretty basic and has all your typical options for Americanized Chinese food. Wanting to get something that had noodles in it, I opted for the combination #1 which has chow mein crispy noodles, pork fried rice, and two tempura shrimp. Quite a lot of food and for a very reasonable price! I think the combo was around $10. If you are a fan of bean sprouts, this is your place. The chow mein had a massive pile of beansprouts on top. The noodles were indeed crispy but they was such a meager portion compared to the beansprouts. The fried rice was pretty basic but also a generous portion and the two tempura shrimp had a nice crispy batter. I tried some of the eggroll too which is one of the most unique versions I've had since the super crispy outer layer was either a different preparation or different wrap material than I'm used to. The interior was made primarily of beansprouts too. Service was good. Our food was prepared fairly quickly.
