Food is sooo good, the plates and serving is beyond amazing. The First time I ordered I was so surprised at how big the plates are it literally could feed 2 people lol they pack those plates. The only thing I dislike is I usually order through the phone, I didn't know that orders don't start getting prepared until you pay. They told me 15-20 mins so I waited those minutes at home. When I got there I paid & I still waited a very long time. They didn't start working on my food until I paid. I ended up waiting 35-40 minutes for my food on top of that. The wait time is usually pretty long on the weekends so save your time and order there and not through the phone if your not looking to wait too long. read more

The closest to New York style you will get out here, their eggroll is garbage. The only thing I hate is the robbery Chinese food gets away with out here. You pay 15$ for 4 fried wings and pork fried rice . That is a $6.95 back in New York and New Jersey or LA. A coworker said her husband 'can't stop' talking about this place. So, after work I tried Tam's. I ordered the Walnut Shrimp and chicken with green beans. (Note: Make sure to ask for a menu, because instead of chicken with green beans my order was fried chicken wings? With the language barrier, make sure to check your order. Talk about Discrimination....Wow! I volunteer some of my time to Coach at the Kroc center in this community. I live in another community and not from Arizona. I have lived in communities like 16th st and Broadway. I decided to stop at Tams to get something different normally I get the Sloppy Bag. I looked at the online menu and decided to order one of Tam's specials. So as I am about to order I tell the older gentleman(owner) what I would like but he doesn't know his own menu because as I telling him he starts to get upset and say is it C1 or C2. I said to him I'm not sure.. I just wanted to order this so I showed him. He is getting louder and louder. So I decided to leave. How are you in a majority minority community and you are exhibiting discriminatory behavior? Then I tried to talk to him and then he shewed his hand at me as to say" get out of here" I unbelievable not not ok. He should be boycotted. Just found this little gem today and boy am I glad I did. I've barely noticed the building during my many trips past this place. You order your food outside through a a tiny window and there is no seating, so take out only, and they only take cash. Let me tell you, it is worth it! I ordered the Pepper Steak lunch special. The pepper steak has tender beef, green peppers, carrots, onions and peppercorns with a delightful sauce. You get a large portion of the entree, a mound of fried rice, a yummy egg roll and a fried wonton. You get all of this for just under $5.00 and it was ready in under 15 minutes. Big win! Gosh my heart is torn, I love the wings but the wait time is insane. Tams is located in south phoenix right off of the I-10. Tams appears to be a house barred up in a small parking lot. You park and walk up to the window and order. The restraint doubles as a convince market for the area, you can get smokes and milk with your Chinese food.. Great place but I have tried on several occasions to plan ahead but always arrive and have to wait upwards of an hour to get my food. This is a secret! Worn out sign on the road, almost missed it. Obviously a neighborhood favorite, always 3 or 4 people in line. You order at the slightly grungy window and get handed a piece of cardboard with your order number scribbled on it. The cardboard number square had evidence of many uses. Our food was ready within about 15 minutes. Fresh and delicious. Beef fried rice tasty. The jalapeños wings a must. Shrimp ramen was pretty good too. I call in to place an order then when I arrive I have to wait 40 mins to get my food, just for them to completely mess up my order which caused me $21 for one meal with 2 drinks with a coupe sauces. Waiting that long and thinking your order is coming out correct after repeating it 5times and in the end be completely wrong is Extremely frustrating. As black folk, it is not common for us to say we don't like fried chicken, but I was losing my taste for it! I have to say Tam's restored my love for chicken! It's the most flavorlicious chicken you will ever taste! They also have the best fried rice, chow mein noodles, egg foo young w/chicken gravy! I don't think there is anything bad on their menu! Now...... I will say that the location is not desirable, but like a crack head will do anything for a hit, I will go where ever I have to for Tam's chicken and chinese food! I love it! The only complaint I have for them is that when you order for pickup they never actually start making it until you are standing in front of them waiting for your order.
