The best Chinese food out there! This is like eating at a high end Chinese restaurant except for its quick and casual. The prices are great, food is fast and quality! They don't use the same chicken all Meals which a lot of Chinese places do. I always reckless staying with the most common orders though. Kung Pau, Orange, Sesame, Honey, broccoli beef, Walnut chicken, you know the usuals-you will never go wrong! The chicken eggs rolls rock, the lettuce wraps are great, sushi is an 8/10! This is the place we eat at weekly and monthly! You won't be disappointed. If you like being catered too, then don't expect them to blow you away with service, they get your food to you fast and great, that is all I need! Don't be a smug customer lol. read more

Sushi was sub par. Sloppy roles and warm fish. The guy making the sushi came up to the bar where I was sitting and freaked out because I asked him to change the channel on the tv. In the midst of one of the worst parking lots, this is a great find, especially on this side of town. Happy hour lasts until 7p so you can wash away your stresses and woes. There's even sushi on the happy hour menu to go with your Tsing Tao. Staff is incredibly funny and willing to serve you whatever you order. I prefer to sit at the bar and be entertained. My go-to dish is the house lo mein and house fried rice. You should always order the crab rangoons, chicken dumplings (fried), coconut shrimp, and the beef satay. Servings are pretty plentiful. I must say, the coconut boba is the bomb. You really can't go wrong with any of the menu item. Come back often, come back a lot. Or just do take out since they offer online ordering! read more

The food spilled all over my vehicle. Even the ice tea cup cracked as I was trying to bring it into the house crazy so irritating. They need to get better containers I spent $51 for 3 lunches. I called them they wanted me to come back there I didn't wanna go back it's an inconvenience. They should've used a couple bags instead of just one. I have gotten their sushi delivered twice this week- that's how much I like it. Fresh fish, sticky and somewhat tangy rice, the nori's great. I enjoyed their egg rolls too. My only issue: lack of descriptions for their special maki rolls. I cannot eat cream cheese and it's in many of the popular rolls so descriptions would help guide people like me through their special rolls. It isn't a huge pain, however. Their lunch specials are super good price for a reasonable amount of food ! Their rolls are a little on the sloppy side but I understand for 7.50 the looks aren't the most important part of the meal. The crab puffs are nothing special just run of the mill goodness! Their miso soup is pretty yummy too and full of all the chunky tofu and seaweed you could want! They definitely don't skimp on that. I would recommend them removing the 50 cent surcharge fee for their customers to pay when paying with a card for 5 or under. Also! I have eaten here numerous times, with different family members and have always been very satisfied. That is, until Friday, February 17th. I came from work, so I was wearing a pseudo-uniform (I think this was our downfall). We were given a table, and it was busy like any Friday night but we did manage to order drinks after five minutes and they were brought approximately 10 minutes later. I should mention that, right behind us, walked in a group of 4 white (I think this is important) older people. They got seated and served their drinks immediately. We were hungry and had been anticipating eating this food, so we waited - for approximately 25 minutes AFTER the drinks were served. We couldn't flag anyone down, as they pretty much disappeared, so we decided to leave. Only when we were walking out did the host deign to acknowledge us. Instead of apologizing when I told him we were leaving as we had not been served, his response was: "I assigned you a server." Then, they had the gall to wish us a good night. Terribly disappointed. Don't know if I will go back, as it seems like all the old employees are no longer there and this new bunch, in my opinion, is just not good. Thank God for these people! They kept me fed for the three years I lived in south Phoenix. =) The staff are super friendly. Everything's good there, though I'm especially fond of the mongolian beef, kung pao chicken and maki rolls. Lunch specials are great, around $6-$7 for a good amount of great food. Nice Chinese restaurant in the south Phoenix area. I have driven past this place multiple times without knowing, it was almost hiding on me! Came here for lunch and enjoyed some hot tea and Moo Goo Gai Pan. A little too many mushrooms for me. Food was tasteful and a healthy portion for the price for lunch. Had a couple bites of pork fried rice and this was also tasty. Staff was extremely friendly and food came out quick! Would definitely return and would recommend if you want Chinese in this area. This place has a wide variety of dishes and it has all been good. It's quick and hot when you go to pick it up. Only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is due to their pricing as its on the higher side. Lo mein is preferred over rice but they charge $3 extra. Have tried the beef kung pao, mongolian beef, lettuce wraps, general tso's chicken, and crispy honey chicken. The meat is very tender and never has chewy pieces; sauces are tasty. read more

BEWARE !!!!! WE WERE YELLED AT AND CHASED OUT FOR NOT LEAVING TIP TO HORRIBLE SERVICE . "Food is not that great . Only thing good is sushi . Service is horrible ! Rude and very pushy with tips." That was my review over a year ago. I had been coming here since 2014 and yesterday I decided to give it another chance. And this what happened 1. I was with a group of 5 they said it would be 5 minutes. About soon after another group of 5 people come in and they were seated right way. I had to the tell the hostess that we were first in-line and had been waiting. She said ok and sat us first. 2. They sat us down in a fold out table. Yes a fold out table in the back ! To where 10 minutes passed without someone bringing us water , taking our drink or bringing silverware. 3. Once they brought us water and drinks and we ordered apps , another 30 minutes passed before someone brought out our appetizers. We asked 3 different staff where was our waitress. When our waitress finally came she had an attitude ! And when she brought out our appetizers it was completely WRONG !! We then proceeded to wait another 10 mins. We had ordered 2 spring rolls and when the lady brought it out she literally THREW the plate on the on table said share. We did not have any plates and no silverware or napkins . And to top it off we asked for shrimp spring rolls and brought out chicken spring rolls . 4. After we had our appetizers we ordered our main course which then we waited another 20-25 minutes for. At this point the table of also 5 behind us which was seated after us, was already done eating. Once we got our food , I had the chicken fried rice and the rice was hard like as it was old and reheated in a microwave. We did not say anything just said we would never come back between the group. This where it really gets OUTRAGES . When we were done eating we obviously did not leave any tip. The food and service was horrible , worst dining experience . The waitress feels the need to go after us as we are walking out to tell us we did not leave any tip. I proceeded to kindly explain her why I thought the service and food was not up to par. She then starts to yell at us saying " SO YOU ARE NOT GOING TO PAY ME ?!" " YOU ARE NOT WELCOME HERE !" " I KNOW YOU NEXT TIME TAKE YOUR FOOD TO GO !" She then speaks in a different language Is this all happening in the middle of the restaurant she is yelling as we are walking out. I said to " Good night M'am " and proceed to ask for a manger. Which I am told there is no manager at this time. I talk to the assistant manager. Me while the lady notices we are speaking with someone and runs around to the countered yelling another language at him. HORRIBLE!!!! DONOT COME HERE ! Honestly, I love it here! The waiters and waitresses are always so welcoming and make you feel like part of the family. My fiance, my daughter and I enjoy it. The food is great! We love the crispy honey chicken and sushi of course! :) They even have boba there which is awesome. The milk tea boba and Thai tea are worth trying! I've probably had almost ever sushi on the menu and I like them all. I always order a Godzilla roll and a hot night roll. We enjoy coming here and hopefully you will too.. Ps: if you have little kids get them the calamari and tell them it's chicken sticks. A local, reliable option. We get takeout from Sun Asian at least once every 2 months. The lo mein, fried rice and appetizers are delicious. The shrimp they use are large, substantial. Sun Asian kitchen serves great food and drinks at amazing prices, served by amazing people, in our amazing community. Happy hour is from 3-7 every day with sushi options, apetizers, cocktails, sake bombers, etc... Whether you want to have a date night and have drinks at the bar, have a family party, or enjoy the patio with the misters to keep you cool, it is tough to beat sun asian kitchen. Who needs P.F. Chang? This is our go-to Chinese place in South Mountain! Happy Hour 4-7 = Doable for the working class! HUGE chicken egg rolls are $1 (ask for extra orange sauce - you're welcome). California Roll less than $5. Domestic beer is like $2.25 - where can you get a beer for $2.25? The main entrees, at least everything we have tried, are delicious AND generous! At PFC my wife and I would order three entrees just to make a meal - and no leftovers. We ordered three entrees the first time here and, oh my, we took a TON home! Now it's two entrees and a manageable amount of leftovers! The Orange Beef is crispy and tasty. The General Tso's Chicken is our other favorite. We love their Lo Mein but you have to stop ordering at some point! Not terribly fancy, wouldn't take a prom date here, but if you want great food, huge servings, and a tiny check, this is your new Asian restaurant! read more

Delicious!! The food came out very quick and it was hot and fresh. The waiters were attentive but not annoying. I had the Shrimp Lo Mien and Orange Chicken. The noodles were great and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. Prob the best Orange Chicken I've had here in AZ. My girl had the Shrimp and vegetables and I tried some and it was also very good. I have come here on the weekends and Friday nights. We usually fill up on their happy hour foods. But their prices are going up and it's just getting expensive to try their food. I like their menu. But it's pricy. Their porch area is nice to sit in. Their lights make it festive. I'd like to see them bring their happy hour prices lower. There are just more affordable choices. The last two times I've gone I have eaten inside. Both dishes were a little salty. When I first started coming here 6-8 years ago, the food was great and the decor was interesting and fun. But now the decor is worn - the drapes are incredibly stained with food and torn, the carpeting is nasty, and some of the ceiling decoration is hanging down. The food used to be amazing, but the quality has decreased in the last year or two. The lo mein was very dry and the veggies were sparse. The sweet & sour chicken had like 2 or 3 pieces of bell pepper in it. It feels like they're trying to stretch themselves too thin and it shows. The food is great but every now again after 10+ years of going there I have issues with my order. If I'm ordering sweet and sour chicken and I know I have a drive and want my sauce on the side because I don't like soggy food, is asking too much??? I mean I'm speaking $10+ a meal $40+ for entire bill and I drive home just to be disappointed. I called to make them aware of my incorrect order just to be told they're too busy to figure out if the kitchen or the person took the order. The food was okay. I came in for happy hour and ordered a strawberry margarita that was disgusting. The worst part is they refuse to take it back. You can see all of the purée or whatever they used for the "strawberry" flavor starting to separate in the cup. I will never be back! This margarita is THICK and gross. read more

Okay okay... let me be real with ya'll. I DID read the SoMo review back in the day when it first came out. Now, I had my Bay Area hopes & dreams and yeah - was a little disappoitned. But for real. It's a nice place. I hate it when reviews hype a place up only to be disappoitned because it wasn't cracked up to what it was supposed to be even though what it was - was actually really nice. With that said. This is by FAR the nicest chinese resturant in this area! For real... show me a place that is more authentic AND more clean AND has better service THAT is in the South Mountain area. If you can... I'll give u $20! If you do decide to go, you MUST try the Won Ton Soup! I love everything, the single shrimp that's always perfectly cooked with the aromatic broth with the stuffed won tons. It's my version of heaven. I always go here for the soup. Some other favorite dishes are the Hunan chicken which has the right amount of spice and the baby corn is to die for! If you're not too adventerous then the Sweet & Sour is also good as is the Beef & Broccoli. I TOTALLY dig the Mongolian Beef which was suggested to me by a very friendly server. I am so inlove with the decor and the teal plates and matching salt & pepper shakers and soy sauce pourer and platters. But as a big girl, I must admit... the chairs could be a lil more sterdier. I'm always scared that this is going to be the time I finally brake a chair! The menus are hard to read because of the frosty page covers. I always press the hazy plastic page protectors firmly over the paper and that usually makes it easier to read. But all in all, it's a very nice place. I have taken quite a few of my friends there and have become somewhat of a regular. I have yet to finish a cup of water and soda because the servers are so attentative that they bring a fresh cup before my first one was even gone!
