We were a party of 12 visiting on vacation, and none of us are from the area. We ordered spam musubi and a chicken skewer as appetizers. Both appetizers arrived well after our entrees had already been served and we had essentially finished eating. Each time we asked about them, we were repeatedly told, "They're coming." Mind you, these are simple appetizers that should not take anywhere near that long to prepare. When we asked for the third time, we finally asked that the appetizers be cancelled since we had already finished our meal. At that point, the gentleman working the front area , tall, with red hair, loudly yelled from across the restaurant, in an extremely rude and confrontational tone, "It's already on the grill!" There was absolutely no reason to speak to paying customers that way. His response was unprofessional, unnecessary, and honestly created a very hostile and uncomfortable feeling during what should have been an enjoyable dinner, especially while our group was on vacation and simply trying to enjoy a meal together. When the appetizers eventually came out, we left them sitting there because we were already done eating and ended up taking them to go. He eventually told us they would be removed from the bill, which we appreciated, but that did not excuse the way the situation was handled. Again, the food was good, but good food does not make up for poor service and especially not for an employee speaking to customers in an aggressive and disrespectful manner. Management should seriously address how customers are treated, because the interaction with this particular employee overshadowed what could have otherwise been a good dining experience for our party of 12.

Everything came out hot, crispy, and fresh. For sushi, we ordered the Jalapeño Vegas Roll and the Baked Scallop Roll, and both were absolutely delicious. I also had the California, spicy tuna, and spicy yellowtail hand rolls, while my sister ordered the California and spicy yellowtail cut rolls. Every roll was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The quality of the fish really stood out, and everything tasted fantastic. A special shoutout to our server, Chloe, who did an amazing job! She was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Her recommendations and great service made an already wonderful dining experience even better. Between the fresh food, generous portions, excellent service, and reasonable prices, Zu Izakaya is an easy five stars. When we arrived, I felt a little scolded for making our reservation through OpenTable, even though that's the platform Arizona Restaurant Week directed us to when we clicked the reservation link. I ordered from Sun Asian Kitchen on DoorDash without really knowing what to expect, and it turned out to be a great surprise! The sushi was excellent- fresh and flavorful. I also tried the twice-cooked chicken, which was tasty, though the only minor issue was that the super hot fried chicken was packed directly into the to-go container, making it soggy. Luckily, a quick trip through the air fryer made it good as new. The portions were awesome- very generous. I even had enough leftovers for both lunch and dinner the next day, and honestly, the flavors were even better as leftovers. Overall, a solid spot for takeout with great sushi, tasty dishes, and plenty of food for the price. Definitely worth trying! read more

Horrible customer service, the short lady with pony tail should NOT even work there, I assume she's part of the owner's family??? otherwise she wouldn't boss around to those young employees while she's not doing anything?? BTW, those young employees did great job, but that short lady? NOPE!! She's RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, does NOT know how to treat customer right. Of cohe refused to provide us her name.. We often look for a restaraunt that is drawing a crowd and Sun Asian Kitchen seemed to be drawing more people than average for an Asian restaraunt. We didn't have to wait more than 10 minutes, butfolks behind us did. Dim Sum looked quite fresh and tasty, but we wanted to order off the menu. We ordered three dishes and it took a bit longer than usual to get them. Peking duck was good, seafood was tasty, and chowmein noodles with wonton were tasty. read more

This place has really good sushi and their happy hour is pretty good. Usually everything is great but our last visit was a bit of a let down as far as the service went. Food was still good but the 2 servers behind the bar were not very attentive and they were not busy. One was chit-chatting with some other customers and the other just seemed a bit inobservant. Just ordered take out.. orange chicken and chicken lo mein. The orange chicken had zero orange flavor and instead tasted like burnt oil. The chicken lo mein also had very little flavor. Irony here is, I called them for food and they phoned in the work. If you're not familiar with the expression "phoned in", I'm saying they delivered a product that seems like they didn't care. During the wait another customer asked for the manager telling him that she had been waiting for 10 minutes for a fork. Because the grill is built into the table, the space underneath is a little limited. My spouse and I are 5'7 and 5'10. Also, the water wasn't our favorite, and I'm not sure if it is filtered. Overall, we had a really nice, calm Wednesday evening around 7 p.m. People were playing pool, and the atmosphere was enjoyable without being too loud. We're older and usually prefer quieter places, but the music was at the perfect volume. We will definitely be back and look forward to trying more items on the menu!

There are multiple pool tables, room for dancing, and the music is always elite in my opinion (r&b throwbacks). The decor is cool. It's dark and modern inside, and the furniture is tasteful. They definitely get ambiance points. I love Korean BBQ. In my opinion, there's not much they can do to stand out because the customer is cooking the food. That being said, I think their marinades are delicious. The variety of banchan (small dishes meant to be eaten with the rice and meat) is great. Their fried rice is yummy, as well as the gyoza they serve. Every time I go here, the staff is friendly and attentive. I took away a star because no matter what we order for drinks, they take an obscenely long time. We always have our food before our drinks. But aside from that, I'm always super satisfied with the service I receive there. If you're on the Southside, and even if you're not, consider stopping in to give them a try!

The fried rice was pretty basic but also a generous portion and the two tempura shrimp had a nice crispy batter. I tried some of the eggroll too which is one of the most unique versions I've had since the super crispy outer layer was either a different preparation or different wrap material than I'm used to. The interior was made primarily of beansprouts too. Service was good. Our food was prepared fairly quickly.
