Thanks to a fantastic recommendation from the sales lady at Savers, I found this shop and it blew me away. Not only did she do a fantastic job, but when I explained it was for a wedding that night, and I'd be willing to pay extra, she not only completed the work beautifully, but on time and still for less than another shop would have charged (without the rush). But despite being one of her regulars and spending alot with her, i get no love as she raises her prices, and the very high prices don't seem fair for the work anymore. I have been going here for years. They always do a great job and it is much less expensive than Ace Tailors. I wouldn't go anywhere else for hemming and repairs. The woman that owns it is super nice and always remembers me even though a year or so might pass by between trips. read more

I needed some pants hemmed and my boyfriend recommended this place. I walked in and the woman working stopped what she was doing and fixed my pants in about 7 minutes and charged me $6. Perfect! Great alterations at a great price. I took an expensive tailored leather jacket in to have the lining replaced and was thrilled with the work they did. My only disappointment was the jacket wasn't finished when it was promised. I took a dress to be altered here. I had it hemmed and taken in at the bust. The dress is mostly tulle, and very delicate, so I was a bit nervous she could get it right. I had to get over 5 inches taken off the hem. She pinned the dress expertly and did an overall amazing job. The dress fit perfectly. read more

Sun has done a great job with all the tailor jobs I have give her. Her store is quite tiny and what one would call a "hole in the wall" but don't let that discourage you. She is reliable and her prices are fair. I still go to her even though I live in Round Rock because I know I can count on her! read more

Dropped off a rush order Monday evening to be picked up Friday. Was perfectly OK paying the 90-100 dollar quote for it. Called Wednesday evening for an Estimated time of completion and was told 2 PM Friday. Arrived at 445 PM Friday and the dress was just now being worked on and was told it would be another hour. Will follow up comment with results of price resolution and quality of work. Edit 1: only took ten dollars off. Even the claim ticket given Monday said ready by Friday. By the time I left, it was 30 minutes til their closing time. Clearly lack of professionalism and customer service. Edit 2: Quality of work is poor at best. Clearly rushed at the last minute and barely fits. Avoid this location. No menu of prices for even basic services. You will be at the mercy of whether they decide to rip you off or not and when they feel like doing it. read more

The owner is amazing. Over the years, she has altered formal suits, dresses (chiffon, silk and cotton), skirts and winter coats for me and each piece has fit exactly like we planned it. I try on my clothes for her when I get in and she pins them to make them fit exactly how I want it. She then tailors them to perfection. I will never go anywhere else. read more

Very horrible job. Absolutely terrible. I highly do NOT recommend this place. To begin, I am not a big person whatsoever and have shopped the same website I bought this dress from so I know my size. She was pulling super hard on dress to turn it and completely TORE this zipper. It just broken right open. She kept repeating the reason why was because the dress was too tight and didn't fit. I found that very rude, considering she just tore a zipper off my $425 dress. Then she said she'd fix and while doing so, she gave me a horrible and cheap zipper. It doesn't even zip up and I was telling her it wasn't working right and she said it was because the dress WAS TOO TIGHT once again. So I took off the dress, to try to zip it up without a body & it still gets stuck and will not go up. By far a trashy horrible job. When she was fixing the zipper, I presume she was having so much trouble with it because you tore a lot of my fabric when trying to make it "better". Her hemming job was also poor because she was not careful or Paris attention to the thinness of my fabric. She could not offer the delicacy it took to do this job. They were rude, disrespectful, expensive and did a bad job. I RECOMMEND LEE ALTERATIONS. They are fixing it and are extremely kind. read more

Suns Alterations is amazing. I am beyond happy with my dress. I went to a recommended place - forgot the name.... they were wanting to charge me over $160 to have the length of the dress and straps shortened and there was no way I was going to pay that after all the money i've already spent on the wedding. Then I remembered Suns Alterations, I had taken my ex boyfriends jeans there to have them fixed and rememered they did a great job. I took the dress in and it only cost me $76.19 total to have a 3 layer dress shortened along with the straps. The dress looks amazing. I'm beyond happy. Not only is the owner extremely nice and welcoming but they are reasonable with prices. I hear nightmare stories of bridesmaids taking in their dress to get it worked on at places and they get a butched up job back. So I was kind of nervous, but the dress looks perfect. Friendly service, fair prices, and excellent small alterations. The woman who works there/owns it (?) is very friendly, and her work is fast and holds up well. I brought pants in to be hemmed over a year ago and they are still in great condition. At first I was a little nervous and thought there might be a language barrier, but she understood exactly what I wanted and was very fast. The hem price was only about $10, and she fixed an open seam for $2. Pretty good hours. I am giving it 4/5 instead of full marks because I have only brought in pants to be hemmed, don't know how it would be with larger projects. brought in a pair of shorts that were a crocheted lace with a thin lining. the invisible hem fell out after one wear and washing. they were so nice and fixed them for either $8 or $12 bucks. Was reasonable for the work done and they did it in just a couple days! I was used to paying way too much since moving Austin from Houston so it was a nice surprise it didn't cost more than the shorts. I definitely found my new go-to tailor! read more

I came in from out of town & needed a bridesmaid dress altered. This place had good reviews so I decided to check it out. If you need a rush alteration, I DO NOT recommend this place. When I went to pick up the dress, 3 hours after I was promised it would be ready, I was told it would be another hour. I didn't have another hour. The woman I spoke with did not seem too concerned that the dress wasn't ready when promised and acted like I was on her time. The customer service at this place is not good & if you need something in a hurry, I wouldn't bet on it being done in time. read more

Sun does a great job--i think all her clients are referred there by others who've been going for years. she's hemmed several pairs of jeans for me. she also took a horribly fitting bridesmaid's dress and made it cute! she shortened it, brought it in a bit and even broke the 'stays' in the bust so she could alter that part of the dress to make it fit me perfectly. all of that for about $60-- way cheaper than other places. long jeans?, big skirts?, scary bridesmaid dress?--take it to sun! read more

I was working on a bike accessory product (Leg Shield) and probably went to the store 20 times. I never had a problem. She is very friendly, did the work right away, the price was fair, and she cared about the quality of her work. I left three pair of pants that needed to be hem on a Saturday and the employee told me that they would be done next Friday. The price was going to be $8 per pair. I thought it was a good price and decided to leave my pants. I went there on Friday to pick them up and they were not ready, she told me to come back the following Tuesday in the morning. I went there around 2:40pm on Tuesday and they did not even start working on my pants. I wasn't very happy but the owner said that she could have them done in an hour. So I went next door and came back at 3:45pm. I had to wait another 30 minutes for them to finish. To my surprise, when I had to pay, the owner told me that her employee quoted me the wrong price. So I had to pay 50% more than the price they had originally told me. $36 instead of $24. If I had known that the price was going to be 50% more and that it would take them so many days to get to my pants, I would have gone somewhere else. I will never go back again. This place is... Fine. Prices are reasonable, but don't bet on there being someone there during business hours. I came here because my regular tailor, Marfiel's, is sort of far, and this right nearby. I took a pair of pants for hemming, and a dress which needed the straps shortened here. The hemming was fine, though she used black thread on grey pants, so it showed a bit, but whatever. When I picked the clothes up, though, she was at the doctors, and some random guy was minding the store, and the dress wasn't altered properly, but because the tailor wasn't there, I paid and said I'd bring the dress back to be fixed. When I tried to bring the dress back at 10:15 (they open at 10), there was no one there. I called the number on the sign, and the woman told me she was at the bank, and would be there in 20 minutes. I couldn't wait, so I brought it back the next day. This time, she altered the straps well, so I was happy with the final product, but still, the experience overall was sort of a hassle.
