Overall not a great experience with this business and they did not treat me professionally. - The tailor is decently skilled, but his limited ability to speak English created some miscommunications and confusions - The tailor brought the dress shirt in too tight around chest, which created a bulge at the buttons, and I had to return to the shop four more times before the bulge was reduced to an almost acceptable level, though not completely - The tailor is not the owner of the shop, and the owner was never present. I had a lot of difficulty trying to get in touch with her to find a good solution for my tuxedo. She ignored calls and texts for days at a time. This was after I had already paid for the work - The price of the work was on the high end, and I feel for the quality of work and experience there are tailors that charge much less - The owner gave me her word that she would reimburse me for having another tailor adjust the shoulder seam without shortening the sleeve length, which could not be done with her tailor. After bringing in the coat with amended shoulders and an invoice, she went back on her word and refused to reimburse me. She claimed the other tailor (a reputable one) didn't make the adjustment at all. Even after I was able to confirm with her tailor it was adjusted, just in a different way than he expected Pictured is the bulge that remained in my shirt after 5 trips to the shop to get it right. I brought in a cycling jacket for repair. It had a hole on the shoulder where I had fallen. The jacket is made from wind proof nylon so I obtained some patch material and the fellow did exactly what I wanted. It was a little more than I expected, but the jacket is so versatile that it was worth the cost. The owner was the only one there when I went by late Saturday, but I notice that there were 6 stations for alterations. I would not hesitate to bring in nice clothes for alterations. read more

I've been here for three items and all have been great experiences: 1- I had a new pair of true religion jeans hemmed about 2 inches. I asked for the basic helming ($14.99) and the women used a similar color thread to make the hem look compatible with the jeans. They are absolutely perfect. I took the same pair to three other surrounding alteration places and this was the cheapest option. I believe the other places were looking at $25 and $30 prices. Picture included! 2- Took two pairs of Hollister high rise shorts in because my waist is smaller than the shorts originally intended. I had to take in the back for it to lie flat against my lower back and take in the high rise line. I came back and one pair was absolutely perfect fitting. I was originally worried I wouldn't be able to get it over my big bottom but it was fine. Picture included! 3- my second pair from above was still a little big so when I showed it to the women she simply rechalked it and said she could have it done by the weekend. Great customer service and really friendly service! She was more than happy to make sure they fit me perfectly! This service was $24 each pair of shorts. Place is clean but small. Located in a corner of a small shopping center but there are two spacious changing rooms to try on clothes and a small waiting area (2 comfy accent chairs) if you want to being a husband or boyfriend along with you. They take Visa and MasterCard but prefer cash or check. read more

I highly recommend Mesa Alterations. I had 4 fittings for my wedding gown and Mesa did an absolutely beautiful job practically re-making my gown. I bought the dress at Serendipity Bridal here in Austin and it was way too big when it came in (bad advice from the consultant on what size I should order). This gown was a huge task to take on with the amount of work it needed. The level of skill it took to work with the delicate and intricate lace was amazing. My mom ended up taking 4 of her dresses in for more minor alterations and they also turned out perfect. I plan on only using Mesa Alterations for future alterations. read more

They did what I asked of them. They patched up a couple holes in my jeans. However, I have patched my own jeans before, and done a significantly better job. They basically blotted out the whole with stitching (kinda trendy looking) and then outlined a huge square of the replacement denim patch (not trendy or becoming at all). The jeans were my favorite pair( hence the need for the patch) and they have done a royal job at making them look not so good. Not to mention, my girlfriend took her stuff in at the same time, and the quoted her about 45 bucks, and then came back with a "hand-sewing tax" and then charged us out the wazoo. Will never take my clothes back there no matter how convenient they are. read more

Mesa Alterations monogrammed all my bridesmaid presents and did an excellent job, so when the original seamstress in Dallas ruined my wedding dress one month before my wedding I went to them in a panic. They fixed the entire wedding dress for me (made a custom top, hemmed the entire lace scallop skirt, took in the skirt and made a bustle). They did all this in an extremely fast time frame and for an affordable price. The scallop lace hem was beautiful, you really can not even see where it was taken up! And the top fits really well! Do not use. I needed a pair of pants hemmed and she pinned the alteration correctly then didn't hem it correctly. The pants were returned too long. The accusation is she sewed it incorrectly on purpose. She took two weeks to do a job that takes 15 minutes. I know how to see so she isn't fooling anyone. She claimed covid 19 wouldn't allow appointments to redo the hem and I should drop by to see if she's open. I take the bus so that's not possible. She didn't pick up phone when I would call and only returned my call once. She claimed it would take two weeks to correctly redo the pants. BS! She never deposited the check I wrote her and when confronted about it said she deposited it and didn't know what happened to it. Terrible customer service and total run around. I'm not exactly a frequent customer for this type of service, but I recently needed to let out a pair of suit pants. I could not have asked for a better experience. I was immediately greeted. When I told her why I was there, she said 1.5 inches. She then asked if I wanted to try on the pants. I put them on and she looked and again said 1.5 inches. A day later I picked up the pants, tried them on, and they looked great and fit perfectly. The price was very reasonable. I will definitely return if I need anything else done. read more

I had been to Mesa Alterations a couple of times in the past to get my blue jeans hemmed, and the price was always very reasonable-- around $14. So when I needed to replace the zipper on my birthday dress, I went to them again... naturally. However, when I went to pick up my dress yesterday, the bill was $50!!!??? That was more than I paid for the dress itself. When I asked if all they did was replace the zipper, the woman answered me with a very snarky attitude, like I was an idiot for asking. I called Mesa Alterations yesterday and spoke with Mary, the manager. She was very difficult to deal with but I finally convinced her, after a very lengthy dispute, that it was only right that she refund the ovecharge of $31+ change back to me. She accused me of being very unfair because I wouldn't pay more than I was quoted. She said its only right to pay for the professional service they gave me. Did I mention the shabby hem job and the cut in the dress they did so "professionally"? First time to wear one of the dresses was yesteday so I happily showed her their "professional" job on the hemline. He reply was "HMPH!" and actually put her nose in the air and turned her back on me. Yu lnow...There's no "negotiating" when you quote your customer a price, the customer agrees to that price and then you try to renig on it later and attempt to charge them more. Her employees need to be careful when quoting prices. EACH...a very important word left out here. Had the employee stated the cost differently from: "I can do both for $35" to: "I can do both for $35 EACH", Mary would not have been in this situation of refunding money back to a customer. I will definitely be looking elsewhere for alterations in the future. B E W A R E...DO NOT take anything to Mesa alterations! read more
