Thread pulling and loose due to mistreatment.

They ruined my $850 wedding dress, 3 weeks before my wedding. Shame on me for not looking over their work when I was there. I went in for a SIMPLE ask, just reinforce the hem. I did not ask them to modify my dress. You'll see in the photos below, the left is how my dress should sit. The middle is completely messed up. So much so, that now it bulges out when I put it on. The worst part... it wasn't even something that NEEDED to be done. The back needed a small stitch but I asked for the whole thing. I am now kicking myself for even bringing it in. It was perfect the way it was. They also hung my dress up by the sleeves rather than the hangers inside the dress (who does that?!), which cause my beautiful French lace to start stretching and fraying. I had put it on the hanger with the strings. Just keep it that way, please. 10 days before my wedding, I took it out to air. And then saw this. There's nothing I can do, except hope to prevent this from happening to you. A hem is supposed to go straight across, it shouldn't look this wonky. ::frantic search for belt::

On the table were two pairs of men's Faherty canvas stretch pants and two pairs of men's Theory performance fabric pants. The Faherty pants were $176 each, and that's what I paid for them. The Theory pants were $200 each and while I did not pay that much for them, they were still pretty expensive. All four pants needed hems, one of the Faherty pants needed to be tapered and both of the Faherty pants I kept the *original* hems (because they were distressed and I didn't want to lose that cool detail). Thank goodness, both of the Theory pants came out as expected, but they were straight hems in very basic thread colors, probably anyone could've done this job. Both of the stretch canvas pants had issues. One pair the thread color didn't match even a little bit and the hemline was a little wobbly. The other pair they matched the threads pretty well but the hemline was super wobbly, I joked that it looked like it was done on a boat. The gal at the front desk was very sympathetic, nice and friendly. She did offer to fix the pants (+ a star), but I didn't want them to chop them back up and re-sew them back again after they had already not done a great job. They charged me full price for all of the alterations even though half of them were done with issues. I didn't complain - mostly because I wanted to see if they'd own their mistake (nope). I'd maybe use this place again but I would definitely not bring high-stakes clothing here. The lack of attention to detail and the obviously inattentive work done to the hem tells me that they wouldn't be ready for a suit or a fancy dress or something like that. They offered $10 express turnaround and I took that option. Maybe they're better with more time? But if so, don't even offer an express option. I was skeptical to come here after I read the review of the man with the jacket buttons that they wouldn't replace (bee cave location - it's the same owners), which was pretty silly and comical review. I'm not totally done with this place but it's not five stars and they'd really have to go above and beyond to be 4-stars in this situation, like maybe not charge me $128 for hems that were poorly done. But alas. Here we are and here's a barely 3 stars for this place. Saving grace was that the gal at the desk was super nice and wanted to remedy the poorly done work.

Got 2 suits and pair of jeans tailored, all 3 were done too small. Ruined all 3 because they cannot be altered bigger. Wedding was out of town so I had to spend $500 on new clothes that would fit. :(

A selfie wearing my new Allie's custom-made shirt. Perfect fit standing or sitting.

I'd had several great repair and alteration experiences with Allie's already, but I hired them this time to make a custom shirt for me for a special artist's event. And I only had one week to get it made. They charged me a very small fee for rush order, measured me thoroughly, picked up the fabric (matching it perfectly to the type I was wearing), fitted me once again after the template was made, and had the shirt ontime/before I needed it. Comfortable fit, great stitching, great shape that held. Allie's made me exactly the shirt I wanted, based only on my verbal description and a few photoshopped images I brought with me. All along they were friendly, pro, thorough, and even tech-savvy (w/texting, etc). I'll be having them make me an entire wardrobe, one piece at a time.

They do very good work, but in my opinion, they are very overpriced. Use your dry cleaner for alterations.

They do good work but their pricing is too high. To hem a pair of jeans on a machine cost $35

Had a few pairs of pants hemmed here. They did great work and everything was ready as scheduled.

Positives: friendly front desk Quick…read moreservice Negatives: grease on new pants Wrong color thread used They did remove the grease after I asked. They also rehemmed the pants while I waited. I just can't give a great review because the grease was an issue in an earlier review, so it seems they haven't corrected the cause. Also, the thread color should've been correct the first time.

I have a pair of jeans that have gone through years of wear and just at that perfect point where they have the right amount of wear and really comfortable. And at this point... I began getting more wear than I wanted and it started tearing. I was about ready to donate them but decided to really research some local tailors to see if I could get this fixed. I wasn't expecting much and if I didn't like the repair, I would just donate the jeans. They told me they would use material similar to make the repair. It took about a week and when I picked up the jeans, I was shocked at what a great repair job they did. They did use material very similar to the jeans I brought in. But not just similar in material, but it was also just as faded so it blended in perfectly. They repaired to so the area is completely covered and they even reinforced it a bit more from the inside. The stitching they did blends right in with the jeans and while I can see the area where the tear was previously, now it's covered and the repair just looks like natural wear and fading to the jeans. I cannot say enough about what a great job they did and how happy I am to not have to get rid of a great pair of jeans. I have some suits that need alterations and now I know this is a place I can certainly trust.
