I've done a lot of baking and have some experience with different versions of buttercream frosting, and the frosting on my cake tasted like it was made mostly with shortening rather than butter. I know to get a white white frosting, shortening will often be mixed with butter, but the flavor should still be good, and this just wasn't tasty like I was expecting for a cake at the price that I paid.
