My husband is still riding the birthday wave. I thought I would get him a sweet treat today. Dropped by Elisa Pastry and purchased a strawberry swirl roll. Elisa's is a small bakery located on Anderson Mill Road in a strip mall. The bakery and a restaurant are connected by an open archway. Elisa Bakery has a variety of sweet treats from cupcakes and custom cakes to baklava and other eclectic sweets. My husband gave me a 1/3 of of is sweet roll and it was quite tasty. My bakery manager was friendly and explained in a good amount detail the contents of some of the desserts. She conveyed that the bakery had been open 7 years and the restaurant 20 years. Yum! Swung by tonight on our weekend ritual of parents night out to try out a new spot, and Elisa's Pastry with their confectionery sweets and patisserie options did not disappoint. They share a space with Shareez's next door but have their own entrance. It's such a cute whimsical space, with a few dining tables out and about to dine in or take home if you don't want to stay. The service is friendly, and I couldn't figure out what slice I wanted. We settled for a slice of baklava and the Dubai chocolate, both of which were divine! This place is a sit down cafe but you can also order items to go. Located in a small plaza, Elisa's pastry offers many treats such as cakes, cookies, and other pastries! I recommend the carrot cake, which is what I normally get there. Pricing is decent for the Austin area, while the items can be a hit or miss as far as tasting fresh. We ordered the Persian tres leches roullette cake from Elisa's Bakery and it was absolutely phenomenal. Moist, rich, and perfectly balanced -- not too sweet, just the right amount of creaminess. It's tucked away in a shopping center with a Mediterranean restaurant next door . Look for the restaurant when you arrive because it's a little hard to find. I would have preferred not to be served in plastic, but did enjoy what I ordered very much. The Napoleon was simply divine...if you are imagining a snooty tone in my voice, you would be correct. It was so legit that I felt like eating with my pinky up with my fork. I recently came here to enjoy some sweets after dining at Caspian for lunch & I'm so glad that we did! What I love is the variety. She had so many options it was hard to pick one. She was very patient as we looked at everything. :) Dessert: full service of coffee, lattes, or any type of pastry and then order it to be served to our table or to go. This is connected to the Caspian restaurant so I would highly recommend dining there to eat and then enjoying your desserts from Elisa. Since they share a wall you can order the desserts from the bakery to be served to your dining table or you can enjoy sitting on the bakery side. Desserts we ordered: mocha cake, carrot cake, puff pastry and pastry puff. We ordered a mix of traditional bakery sweets and authentic Persian sweets. Both were very fresh and I would definitley order it again. Unfortunately we were having a great time that I forgot to take photos but we will definitely return. The prices are very fair and the lady that we ordered from I believe was the owner of the bakery. She was so wonderful and kind in sharing her suggestions. 10/10 bakery! read more

So anyone else suddenly get an insane sweet tooth craving? I had one of those cravings last week, and came across Elisa Pastry. OH. MY. GAWD. Everything was absolutely phenomenal. The tiramisu tasted as if it had been brought straight from Italy, and the strawberry roll was refreshing and light. A nice little shop with good coffee and pastries. There is a bell on the counter to ring if no one is there. The staff will come promptly once you ring it. The staff is friendly. The shop is clean. The prices are reasonable. Additionally, there is parking in front. It's easy to miss the sign so if you see Shandeez Grill it's right beside it. They have take-out and even delivery through Grubhub. Their pastries are all made by Elisa and they are incredible. The cream puffs looks to die for. Rosanna (who was so sweet) recommended me the napoleon with a chai tea which was the perfect amount of flaky buttery and sweetness. Definitely coming back for a roll cake next time. read more

The strawberry swirl cake was especially delightful and reminds me of strawberry shortcake. The carrot cake has a rich delicious cream frosting. The almond croissants are amazing! I've never tasted nothing so delicious in my life! I usually order in advance, because sometimes the quantity I want isn't available. The Baker usually attend me when I pick up my order in the morning and he is very polite. But there is a young lady, I don't know if she's the owner, but she's a young lady who can be very offputting and rude. Just a little heads up on that end. I paid $75 for a birthday cake for my fiancé. Both layers were so dry that the cake would crumble upon being cut. I had read all of the amazing reviews before purchasing and expecting something better than nearly inedible. I was pleasantly surprised by this bakery. I found it online searching for bakeries that served Napoleon cake, as my mother used to make that for me growing up. It was my son's birthday and I wanted to get him a special treat. When we walked in, I was really impressed by the ambiance. The build out was super charming and cute with the little sweet shop type trinkets. The TV was playing coffee shop type content. I especially loved the crystal chandeliers. The entire place was really clean and nicely laid out. I didn't realize they had a Mediterranean restaurant attached to the sweet shop, but I will give it a try next time, as I just had lunch before walking in. The baker who helped me was really nice and friendly. They even gave my son a cupcake and little bouncy ball toy for his birthday, which was a nice touch. Peaceful place to eat a pastry and enjoy some tea. Surprised they didn't have decaf coffee for an evening treat, but I enjoyed the cardamom tea (once it cooled down from molten lava to just right.) We enjoyed a sampling of cookies, including coconut macaroons and almond tarts. My wife avoids dairy so we passed on some good looking cream puffs and cheesecakes.
