Met a colleague here to discuss business and taxes, it was super convenient and a great spot to meet between our two locations She had never experienced the delicacies offered... But she was pleasantly surprised and said she will be back. I cannot remember the flavors of the too many cupcakes she had but she devoured them pretty quickly. This place has been knocking out outstanding lattes for years, going on decades. I was at Cupprimo for my husband's last birthday treat, although he celebrates his birthday through the end of the year. I purchased carrot cake and salty caramel cupcakes along with mini boozy lemon mini-cupcake. The burning question does the boozy lemon cupcake have booze in it and it did. However, the alcohol content was very subtle. My hubby shared a "little" of his cupcakes with me. In the big scheme of things probably a good idea, since I'm trying to cut back on sugar. I have been here twice since I finally stopped in to try this place. I'm so thankful a friend and I walked the area after lunch before departing. Walked in as our eyes focused in on the colorful, beautifully iced cupcakes of two sizes, mini and standard with several selections to choose from. Our first visit, we got a dozen of minis to first try. We were not disappointed. All cupcakes are fresh, moist and not as dense as other bakeries can be but most of all, the best buttercream frosting! It's a generous amount however it's better than being shorted. My favorites were the double chocolate, keylime pie and blue velvet being #1! They are a bit pricey but worth every penny until they're not. Since they are not conveniently located to me, I got a dozen to go and froze each flavor and thawed nicely in fridge to eat. I have got to start with the absolute top notch above and beyond customer service from the gentlemen that helped us! We did not get his name but he had about shoulder length hair, light brown, wore a cap, had a beard. His service was beyond amazing and he had the patience of a saint. We went in asking tons of questions and he did a great job at explaining all of the options and flavors and going over the gluten-free menu. We made our selections and after we paid I decided that I wanted a cup of coffee as well. He said that the coffee had been sitting for over an hour and if we could just wait a few minutes he would brew a fresh pot. He explained the flavor of the day, the brewer, where the coffee came from and the flavor notes. We ended up buying two bags of the coffee, and I truly appreciated the fresh brew, it went perfect black with no creamer or sugar with the sweetness of the cupcakes. The cupcakes were very moist, flavorful, sweet but not overly sweet. We will definitely visit again for cupcakes and coffee next time we are in Austin. When we left my husband made the comment that if every business had an employee like him they would never get bad reviews or go out of business! I ordered a custom cake from Cupprimo and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out overall. The baker followed the inspiration, but their skills are somewhat lacking as the hand writing on the cake is a little sloppy and way too big! An 8inch custom cake like this costs about $75 + tax so not too bad but the decorator could have a little more attention to detail. They mainly communicate via email which was off. They messaged me asking do you still want your cake about 3-4 times the morning of pick up which I found off putting. Of course, I want my cake and I planned to pick it up at the scheduled time of 11am but they told me to pick up at noon. We stopped here after lunch elsewhere, Shana mentioned she passes this place almost everyday for almost every job she has had since moving to Texas and never managed to get here. The shopping center it is in is a weird mix of places. A Big Lots, several education helping places, lots of Asian and Sushi restaurants. This cupcake place, and even a card shop with Baseball, Football, etc. type of cards. That maybe why we never really pull in, it just has so much random stuff. Cupprimo is a nice place, they have both normal size cupcakes as well as mini cupcakes. A pleasant surprise is that every normal size has the same in a mini. Not something you see a lot, most times only the most popular or a few cupcakes are made mini. We picked out a dozen and the price is way more then fair. Shana also picked up a cool t-shirt with a snake on it. Her first choice was sold out but she still liked this one. The place was clean, though we didn't stay there were several people inside eating and talking. The bathrooms were clean and there is ample parking. Only one person working that we could see but when we stopped it was not busy so that was not an issue. The cupcakes are very sweet so take that in to consideration, that doesn't bother me but I know it does some people. They had lots of flavors including a Blue Velvet which just lead to jokes about the violent movie of the same name which is a weird crossover. But as Shana has never even heard of a Blue Velvet cupcake she choose a few, as well as Red Velvet, Chocolate Truffle, Double Chocolate and a Strawberry something among others. the cupcakes and cake are pretty good however they are selling non vegan cakes as vegan without any regard for people with (severe) allergies. When I made a very polite and cordial phone call to the business owner to notify her of the issue so that further incidents could be prevented, she showed no sympathy and neglected to even inquire if the child who only licked the icing off of a candle was ok, talking over me about her liability disclaimer while claiming that she can't help particles in the air in her high=volume bakery (not the issue). I understand the impulse to cover yourself, but she seems fairly out of touch. It might be more productive for her to listen more and approach the situation with greater empathy. read more

I had passed by this cupcake shop for years not realizing that they sold cupcakes since not totally intuitive based off of their store name. I decided to stop by to pick up some cupcakes for my sister's birthday as she had recently gone gluten-free and this was one of the few options open that provided cupcakes of this type in the area. I ordered one of each flavor for the gluten-free cupcakes, as well as got a red velvet and chocolate cupcake from their case. While the cashier was friendly and helpful, I honestly thought the cupcakes were wayyy too sweet for my liking. I tend to be more sensitive towards sweet desserts, and the frosting was too sugary for me unfortunately. My sister ate the gluten-free cupcakes and said they were also very sweet, but tasted very close to the normal version. At four dollars plus per cupcake, these were definitely on the more expensive side. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be coming back again just because of the price and how extraordinarily sweet the cupcakes were, but if you're into that type of dessert, this may be your place to try out! read more

Cupprimo is Amazing I called them to ask if they do gender reveal cupcakes and they said yes. When we came in they jumped right on it and made our choices of cupcakes custom by adding a beautiful blue and pink swirl frosting and baby bottle sprinkles on top. The service was fast, friendly and very reasonable. The owner even came out to say hi and said he would make sure they take care of it right away. I was really blown away on how awesome they all were. Now on the actual cupcakes they were beyond delicious. My wife got the primo vanilla and I got the blue velvet. LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! I've never had anything but delicious cupcakes here. Today I came for The St. Patrick's Day specials. I ended up getting two Irish car bomb cupcakes for myself...because why not. I love that they have their standard cupcakes everyday and a rotating daily menu (the blue velvet & choc o salt are my favorites) but then also throw in holiday specials. I love that you can get mini cupcakes too, because with all the amazing options they have, it's really hard to settle on one. Don't let the small size fool you, if you have a couple of those, you'll definitely be satisfied. There are places to sit inside, but I usually take my cupcakes to go.
