    Miso Caramel Latte
    Diana S.

Came in on a Saturday morning and was surprised to see it so empty. I've heard of great things so I finally decided to try it. I got their winter special drink Miso Caramel Latte and it was really good! The miso did catch me off guard at first but the more I drank I really enjoyed how the caramel compliments the miso in the latte. Overall very chill vibe lots of people in and out, really enjoyed my time today!

Stopped in for a quick lunch break and to grab a coffee to wake me up! Service is super friendly. Plenty of tables to eat and do work. The cookie I had was great and I def want to try some of their other delicious looking pastries. I was kind of underwhelmed by the coffee. I think there was a bit too much milk for me but it was still decent. Cool spot if you want to get some work done and def want to try more pastries!

We went to Quacks Soundstage inside Quacks for Dinner with the Divas drag show. They have a full bar inside. This place does not have a full menu or dinner which was disappointing. The serve bakery items, coffee drinks and make a very good espresso martini!

This was my first time at Captain Quack's. I met a friend here because they were hosting Starling Karaoke for the first time. The space was perfect for karaoke or an intimate band performance. The bartender was friendly, and her cocktails were great. There is a decent variety of seating- comfy booths, and high top tables. I plan to come back again.

My first time here and I loved how homey it was. I came for an art event hosted by someone and we were in the room where it looks like they have a stage area. The servers were friendly and fast. I was almost overwhelmed with the baked foods selection. If I could I would have ordered a bite from each one. The vibe is laid back and chill. Good spot to come study, work, read, and Chat with a friend.

Excellent music, cookies, service, parking, etc. I love the Under the Rock series and the half price after eight o'clock bakery items.

Captain Quack's is a south Austin staple. They have great coffee, cute and delicious pastries, and one of the best chais in the area. Bonus is they always have fun events going on. I've been to their silent reading nights which are always a cozy blast, and I like to do their Monday night general knowledge trivia hosted by Get It Games! Such a great place to come hang out or do some work. Only downside is there are limited seats in the cafe area, so if there's an event happening you might want to get there early!

I'll definitely return here. Their desserts look incredibly delicious, especially the "Eat My Feelings" one, which called to me. I'll have to come back just to try that one out. The cheese danishes we purchased were perfection. I had mine the next day, reheated it, and it was still delicious. The cream in the middle was just right--neither too dry nor too moist--and the Danish part was wonderfully flaky. Not to mention it was also massive. They also host events there, like the lively trivia night we saw during our visit. This place looks fantastic, and I'll be back to try more items from the menu. I'll be sure to update my review afterwards.

You have got to visit! It's tucked inside a shopping center off Menchaca. We absolutely love it here (it's our second time) because the pastries are delicious, the chai is homemade, and there are lots of places to sit and work on your laptop for a while. Also the staff is super chill. Highly recommend you try a different sweet on every visit.

If I lived in Austin, I'd be a frequent flyer here :) loved everything about this place. The employees were so nice and friendly; offered detailed recommendations of everything they had to offer. And there's a ton of options for drinks, pastries, desserts here, something for everyone. My coffee was delicious, nice and strong, it was a TAD bit on the sweet side. My cookie was delicious, it was a salted oatmeal I believe. So chewy. I'll definitely be back to dry their other items!

I came here on a recommendation and I honestly regret it. The coffee had to be sweetened so much just to tolerate it, the tea was crazy watered down that there was no flavor and the cupcake icing was solid as ice with the only good thing about it being its chocolate flavor but that really wasn't enough to save it, and the two women behind the counter felt like the couldn't be bothered. They were so cold to us and I felt super rushed. The moment I walked in, this place was giving off bad vibes. I wanted to like this place so much, it looks like they are very active in their community, they host events, have book clubs and board game nights and all of those are probably really cool! However I came on a day where there was nothing going on so everything was very lackluster. I'm a little disappointed after hearing so much about how good this place was. I'm hoping that maybe I just came on a bad day

I'm surprised the owner serves old pastries. A deal breaker for me is being served ice cold old pastries. The pistachio latte was lukewarm. Also ordered the fruit mousse- chocolate hazelnut crunch and pistachio cherry christmas tree. Both ice cold as well, taste was okay, not great. Not worth the $14.99 each price. I've been to other pastry shops in the area and most serve fresh pastries and I have visited pastry shops in Europe (Paris, Rome, London, Florence, Geneva to name a few) so I can spot fresh and tasty pastries. Not coming back and will not recommend.

Upper Crust Bakery is my "go to" bakery when I am hosting a party that has associated dessert. My favorite cakes at Upper Crust is the Chocolate Italian Cream and the Gato Marissa cakes. They also have an assortment of cookies, pastries, muffins and other sweet treats. It is not unusual to find a line to get to your heavenly pastries and coffee, however, the line goes rather quickly. I had just read on Reddit a couple days prior that this was recommended as an alternative to another Austin bakery. When I walked in I was surprised to find many older individuals sitting and chatting, so I thought there might be some kind of event. But it's probably just the demographics of the neighborhood! Based on the decor I can tell they're not trying to be a "trendy" bakery and remain true to their identity as a neighborhood business. They still had a good number of pastries available but I did get the last strawberry danish of the day (pictured). I also got the almond croissant. Their pre-made bread loaves all looked appetizing as well. I thought both pastries had good texture but could have used more filling/flavoring.

Decisions, decisions, decisions, etc. During my visit, I observed a wide variety of baked goods; specifically, the chocolate chip and salty oat cookies are particularly popular. Although I typically prefer cookies with nuts, I purchased several sugar cookies in unique shapes and colors for the hubs, who is the resident "cookie monster". I also selected a piece of key lime pie for myself, following my dessert ritual of consuming it over three days. Quack's serves as a neighborhood gathering spot, with a relaxed atmosphere that attracts regular customers, students, and groups of friends. While I went to the bakery just to look around, I got sucked in their bakery vortex...in a very good way.
