Coconut bay matcha
Karson S.

Odd Roots, thank you for showing up for us through the cold weather! Love the seasonal menus that they've come out with consistently since opening. Also, there's very little that these fine baristas can't do! Want a seasonal drink as a matcha? They will do their best to make it happen! I'm also not a coffee drinker, but I DID try one of their coffee drinks & it was so well done that I even liked a coffee drink! Hill Country Classic is my fav food item for a healthy start to your day. Love this place!

Latte and golden hour (plum/nectarine bread).

New favorite. It's a cute little trailer. The coffee was excellent. We got the black bear latte and a plain latte. As well as the golden hour bread (plum/nectarines with a dollop of whipped cream). The sweetness of everything was well balanced (so the latte wasn't sickeningly sweet). Service was friendly. Nothing more to say except I'll definitely be back.

Welcome to the area Odd Roots!

Oooookay now I understand what the hype is about. I'll admit, I was hesitant at first -- no offense to fellow Christians (myself included) -- but the location is a bit offputting at first glance. It shares space in a church parking lot with a subpar taco truck, a seasonal fireworks stand, and now a hibachi truck next door. I'm a girl that loves her classic cup of homemade joe. My partner however needs a specialty latte of some sort. We decided to give Odd Roots a try after seeing multiple raving reviews on our neighborhood's community page. As soon as we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised to see the cozy nook they've created. The area is tastefully decorated with seasonal decor, a few dining tables and chairs, and an outdoor bookshelf selling merchandise. In alignment with their seasonal decor, they're currently offering seasonal beverages along with the usual espresso drinks. I stuck with my preferred "seasonal" classic, a chai latte, and it was absolute perfection. It had just the right amount of spices and gave those warm, cozy vibes I love for this season. Our barista was also incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience more pleasant. I feel so blessed to have this gem minutes away from my house, highly recommend!

So cute! Parking - plenty Coffee - flavored ones are not too sweet; the snickerdoodle was perfect and I like my coffee light to no sugar. The black coffee was smooth and delicious with notes of blueberry. Service - so friendly and attentive Atmosphere - loved that there was seating with umbrellas (shade yes please) and they had music on too! There are also games at the tables. Food? Yes a few nibbles are available. We got the avocado toast to go and I loved the seasoning and it was fresh. You'll see us back here a lot :)

Absolutely love this cute little coffee truck!! I ordered the very berry matcha and coconut matcha which I absolutely loved!! It is on the sweeter side for matchas but I do enjoy a little bit sweeter than the normal matchas you would make and adjust in Japan. The service was great too!! They were so friendly!! There is outdoor seating and has such a cute modern vibe. It's also next to a taco truck that I'll try next time too.

Iced vanilla latte with marshmallow cold foam

Hyped to have a new coffee spot in southeast Austin! A really cute and well designed truck they have a great setup and friendly service, enjoyed chatting up coffee with Fiona and admiring new coffee options in our part of town. Enjoyed the classic vanilla latte and the marshmallow cold foam was a treat and the coffee roast was strong! Will be back for the other tasty drinks

Iced Wild Berry Matcha + 3 custom iced matcha lattes

Let me confess something: I have a new ritual, and it begins at Odd Roots, where iced matcha lattes become a form of poetry. This coffee trailer may be compact, but the heart, intention, and flavor packed into each drink? Monumental. As someone with a severe dairy allergy and a palate trained in both care and curiosity, I'm always looking for a matcha that balances quality, flavor, and kindness. Odd Roots nails all three: hand-whisking their matcha like the masters they are, and welcoming me with genuine warmth and inclusive communication as a Deaf customer. That alone deserves praise, but oh ~ the drinks. My absolute favorite: the Honey Citrus Latte, made with matcha instead of espresso. Trust me on this. The usual espresso version is delightful, but the moment I swapped in matcha? Magic. The grassy, velvety base lets the honey and bright citrus shine, with the cocoa dust adding a subtle sparkle. If someone proposed to me with this latte, I'd say yes. No hesitation. Other favorites include: Wild Berry Matcha: strawberry kissed, layered and beautiful. Custom Lavender-Vanilla Matcha: soothing, floral, with just enough sweetness to feel like a lullaby in a cup. All drinks I ordered were made with oat milk (thank you, Odd Roots, for offering it at no extra charge!), and each sip was perfectly balanced; not too sweet, not too grassy, just right. The matcha here is neutral yet full-bodied, with soft umami notes and a floral whisper, great for beginners and still satisfying for seasoned matcha lovers. The vibe is cozy, the team is accommodating, and the drinks are carefully crafted. I just hope they keep expanding their menu, because everything I try becomes a new favorite. TL;DR: Odd Roots is my matcha soulmate, served in a cup. Come for the drinks, stay for the love. - Jenjen (Maine Coon spirit, matcha enthusiast, oat milk devotee)

Black Bear Latte and Matcha Latte

The best coffee in all of Austin- and that's saying something!! Love this place, their coffee, and their staff!

Camper and part of the seating area
Kelly M.

My neighborhood dreams came true! A coffee spot less than 5 minutes from my house. This cute little camper serves delicious coffee, pastries, and toasts. Took about 15 min for our order at 10am Saturday morning but we enjoyed the seating area and little sunshine while we waited. Dog bowl outside for our furry K9 child, is always a plus. We both ordered the Honey Citrus (one hot and one iced). You can taste more of the citrus in the iced. Friendly service, reasonable prices, great vibes!

Odd Fellow toast

If you're looking for yummy, flavorful coffee and toast with a flair made by locals with high customer service, this is your spot. I got the Campfire Latte (iced)- when I say this drink exceeded my expectations! It's sweet but not overly so. It's clearly put together with care. The toast is on another level - I got the Odd Fellow. The salty prosciutto mixed with the raspberry jam?! Wow!!! Excited to have a new favorite coffee place. The truck is so cute and makes it feel like a pretty special place.
