Devine Cakes! We very much like pretty much every cake flavor/cupcakes that we've tried at Susie Cakes. What we got this time were the lemon poppyseed and the tropical with pineapple and coconut flakes. Both are just delicious. Their style of cake is dense, but still moist and flavor is incredible. We also got the half dozen mini cupcakes. The standout from the mini cupcakes was the red velvet with cream cheese frosting. Must-try bake shop if you haven't been! I really wish they have one in Cedar Park/Leander so we don't have to drive so far to get their cakes when we have the cravings. read more

Have passed by a million times and decides to stop in. They have some fun cake related items like fun candles for cakes, including sparkler candles, a few birthday cards and napkins, decorations. They even had a piece of cake dog toy! How fun. So many options for cupcakes and cakes. Any of the cakes on top were able to be served by the slice and it was tempting. I got one Red Velvet cupcake, one German Chocolate Cupcake and one Vanilla cupcake. All of the cake parts were a bit too dry for myself. The Red Velvet was my favorite due to the cream cheese frosting going well with the red velvet cake. The German Chocolate topping to cake ration was a bit much for my taste combined with the cake being dry. The Vanilla one was second and similar to the Red Velvet it was the frosting to cake ratio. I'd go back to try their cakes to see if they are a bit more moist. The staff was so friendly and polite! They asked if it was my first time in and gave me a run down of what could be ordered as well as answered questions about the merchandise. read more

We try and pop in before or after swim class with the kids. It's a cute clean shop, it could easily be a fast one stop place for birthday desserts, plates, candles, birthday cards. My kids are prolific frosting eaters. They never really eat the cake- and they're big fans. We get the minis and they enjoy looking in the case and picking their own. I did take one star off because my kids and friends kid were being typical toddlers. They were in a silly post-swim class mood and were giggling and dancing around as we ordered. The staff seemed overwhelmed and I started to feel rushed. I had basic requests, "put one vanilla cupcake in a separate bag as it's a gift. Make the rest to go" etc. I was sort of made to feel like we were too much. Kids aren't for everyone- trust me I know they are overstimulating. But this shop is a delight to their little eyes, please don't make them feel unwelcome. read more

First-Time Visit & Worth It! I tried Susie Cakes for the first time for my adult daughter's birthday - she insisted on getting the cupcakes, and they did not disappoint. We ordered the assorted Happy Birthday Cupcakes in both vanilla and chocolate. Every flavor was delicious, but the confetti cupcake was my personal favorite--light, fun, and perfectly sweet. They are on the pricier side at almost $7 per cupcake, but for a special celebration, the quality and presentation made it worth it. Overall, a great first experience - nd I'd definitely go back for another celebration dessert! read more

My daughter is about to turn a year old and her godfather wanted to surprise her with a smash cake! The cake he got from SusieCakes was pricey for the size, but worth it! There were 18 flavors to choose from, he went with their classic vanilla with sprinkles paired with a strawberry frosting. They recommended these flavors for a smash cake since it was on the lighter side and better for a baby. We also got a regular size cake for the adults in the group with the same flavor! The cake was dense but delicious. Presentation was wonderful, the cakes themselves are super cute. Even though the smash cake was small, they still fit a personalized message on top. It sounds like the order and pickup process was easy. We are very pleased with the cakes we got and the experience as a whole! read more

Susie cake is my go to cake place, their cakes are so good, and their staff is SO NICE. I've ordered birthday cakes, gender reveal cakes, they always go above and beyond to make things happen for you in time, and respect your inspiration photos and request. My favorite is the chocolate marble cake but the rainbow one is also chef kiss. All of them truly are yum! read more

There was a birthday in the house and perfect time to try SusieCakes. I went online and setup my new SusieCakes account and the app too. I ordered the 6" Old-Fashioned Chocolate Cake with sprinkles on top. The next day I went to the bakery to pick it up. The staff was super friendly and have cakes, cupcakes and other treats on display. You can buy a slice of cake too. They also sell accessories like napkins, plates and numeric candles. My order was ready to pickup. I also got a free cupcake for setting up an account and purchased a second one. It was a Chocolate and Vanilla Blue. Both tasted really good with great soft flavor. The cake was just delicious and very chocolatey. I will definitely return for my cake needs. read more

I enjoyed this cake so much more than I expected. I got a slice of lemon (not pictured) and a slice of strawberry. I don't usually love cakes as they are typically too dry. When I do eat cake I prefer ones that are little more dense with moisture. This cake is very fluffy and airy and I was afraid it would be fried (at least I appeared that way by looking at it). To my surprise, it is delicious and doesn't feel too heavy! The layers of cake and frosting are both thin, so you get a bite of cake and frosting each time. I also hate when frosting is overly sweet--this cake is so well balanced and I don't feel like it's too sweet. They had several varieties of cakes available, all available in different whole cake sizes as well as by the slice. There were also cookies and cupcakes. I went in a Saturday around 5pm and service was quick and efficient. The shop was very clean and well lit--and very cute! read more

What a cute little bakery!! If it has a flaw, it's pricing. They don't have price signs, so you have to ask for each price. Then you go into sticker shock. That being said, the cakes are GOOD! I got a slice of chocolate, a slice of lemon, a mocha cupcake, and a pumpkin spice cupcake. (I shared it all, of course. The slices are huge!) The cakes were all moist and sweet. The buttercream was all super tasty, a great consistency, and sitting right on the edge of maybe too sweet. Perfect! So will I return? Maybe, if I am in the area. It's 8 miles away but takes nearly 40 minutes to get there, every time I put it into GPS. So between the time, gas and prices of the cupcakes and slices... read more

Love love love. I was introduced to Susiecakes from a previous Yelp event and I couldn't be more appreciative. My daughter's 1st birthday just passed and I knew the perfect cake to serve! I've that I was able toCustomize the celebration cake to match our decor and theme. Every guest enjoyed the cake and was impressed at how rich and delicious the cake was. The icing isn't overwhelming and you just can't stop taking more bites. I ordered a 9inch to be shared by 20 people and had almost half the cake leftover. Not complaining, more for me!! The cake is large and generous because of the layers. I haven't had a flavor here that I don't like. A week later, a staff member called to inquire how I enjoyed the cake! I thought that was so sweet and considerate. I really support and recommend susiecakes to anyone planning a party or wanting a sweet bite since they sell cakes by the slice and cupcakes! Delicious. The coconut with pineapple cake was so delicious. The preorder process thru website is convenient and definitely a plus.

So delicious. All I need to say. Had the pleasure of going to the original bakery prior moving to Austin. Very excited they opened here.

Was so happy to incidentally find SusieCakes! I was googling places to buy a smash cake for my daughter and found that they sold them here. I called and was helped by very kind staff that were able to help me quickly place my order. When I went in to pick it up the desserts looked so good!!! I ended up leaving with a 4 pack of cupcakes to share with my family. They were all a bit sweet for my taste, even then the strawberry was amazing and my family loved them. It was about $20 for a 4pack of cupcakes and the 4inch smash cake was $35. There's price transparency on their website and online ordering which also helps! I wish the smash cake wasn't as much frosting, my girl ended up only being able to get that since it was about an inch and a half thick, but we still had a great time and I'm glad I was able to pick one up. I'll be back again to try their cookies! read more

I have been wanting to stop by this business, and today was the day. My Husband and I were greeted and welcomed in. They had cakes that you could get a slice from and ones ready to take home right then and they could also write something on it if you want. We purchased 6 cupcakes Red Velvet, Mocha, Peanut Butter, Strawberry, Lemon, we also got a Snickerdoodle and Chocolate chip cookie. We tried the Mocha and the Red Velvet and they were both delicious. best cakes ever !!! There vanilla and chocolate cakes are unbeatable. We always order for special occasions

Fantastic cakes by the slice! We were visiting Austin last weekend and popped in on a Saturday afternoon. No other customers and shelves were stocked, but that's probably due to the music festival. The guy manning the counter was prompt and courteous. We got a slice of chocolate and a slice of marble - both were great. I'm a picky chocolate cake fan and this was perfect: strong cocoa flavor, not too sweet, smooth icing, moist, large slice, very affordable. The marble was also very tasty, sweeter with some candy texture. So happy! Please come to Houston! read more

I got the smallest size red velvet cake for my mom's bday and 10/10! The cakes are moist and not overly sweet and the cream cheese icing is amazing! So delicious!! I love a good bakery and I am so delighted to have found one where the frosting does not make my stomach do flips. I only like buttercream frosting and Susie Cakes does a perfect frosting. Their cakes are moist and tastes like my grandmothers cakes. I tried the mocha and celebration slices of cake as well as the whoopie pie and all desserts were fantastic! The dangerous part is that I may find myself making bi-weekly trips as I was told that they have seasonal cookies that are also phenomenal! read more

Tried their lemon cupcake the other day. It was pretty good, perhaps a bit too lemony for me. But, the consistency of the cupcake was perfectttt and not dry at all! Came here for a Yelp Elite event but also bought a Whoopie Pie. So delicious! The chocolate cookies were thick and perfectly chewy, with a great amount of frosting between. Susie Cakes is delicious. Fresh, moist, obviously made with care. The staff is always attentive and friendly.

Cute bakery! The employees welcomed me warmly and were so friendly. I got a coconut cupcake and it was so moist and the frosting was so decadent. I really liked that you can get slices of cake a la carte which I feel like you don't see often so that's a plus when you just want to grab a smaller dessert. I've tried the lemon and red velvet cakes before and those were delicious - moist and creamy icing. It's more of a grab and go kind of place FYI since there's only a couple seats inside. When I walked into SusieCakes, I was drawn to the open and bright bakery, and also the glass case filled with different cupcakes and beautifully decorated cakes. I ordered a slice of the Southern Red Velvet cake to go. Mind you, I didn't see how large the slice was. Neatly placed in a teal and white vintage-inspired cake box, the red velvet slice was just the right amount of sweetness. Delicious. The customer service was amazing, as they were sharing how the bakery was not a franchise, but privately owned with locations in different states and throughout Texas. I popped into SusieCakes for a Yelp Elite event and ended up walking out with a bonus mocha cupcake. It was a truly indulgent treat with the creamiest coffee frosting atop a moist, flavorful chocolate cake base. So fricking good! Ordered the smallest cake for my father's 88th birthday. We got the vanilla celebration cake. It was ok. For $55, I guess I had higher expectations. The writing was not the best and honestly why extra charge for it? The confetti on top was sparce. The confetti in the cake mix was not very obvious either. The cake tasted ok but nothing I have not had in the past. I will maybe give them another try but only try the cupcakes as the cake is not worth the cost in my opinion. read more

How did I not know this gem was in my neighborhood?!? I needed a simple birthday cake but wanted something more than a grocery store cake but not as high end as you'll get from a wedding cake baker. SusieCakes didn't require several days of lead time, had all the expected flavor options and several decoration options. Ordering was extremely easy, the people working when I placed the order in person were super sweet and patient as I considered my options. The cake was adorable AND delicious!!! The cake was moist, the frosting was incredible!i was skeptical that a 6 in would actually feed our group of 8. We had more than enough with plenty to save for later. Thrilled SusieCakes is so close to my home. Welcome to the neighborhood! read more

Strongly recommend! Great taste and service. They can make customized birthday cakes within a week, which is unique!

I had the best time visiting Susie cakes! Employees were so friendly and welcoming, explaining all of their cake, flavors, dessert offerings delivery options, and even a little history about the store! They ship world wide, and have delivery options; you can order ahead for large orders or holidays. There are many different types of cakes, cookies, brownies, and decorations for each. During this fall season, they offered pumpkin cheesecakes which I purchased for Thanksgiving. They even threw in a free whipped cream! I had to pick up the day before Thanksgiving, and totally blanked on the time they at close for the holidays. They gave me a call about an hour before closing and even told me they'd be there a little longer in case I didn't make it by 4 PM. I made it just in time and I was able to get my cake apologize and thank them profusely for reminding me! The next day we ate the cake and it was absolutely delectable! It was probably the best pumpkin cheesecake I've ever had and I haven't had many. I can't wait to see what else they come up with. I'll be ordering again. If you order directly from their website and sign up, you will receive rewards. I have one free cupcake waiting for me now! read more

I'm sorry to say, the Xmas cupcakes purchased yesterday were terrible. The frosting was so sugary your back teeth felt like they'd fall out. It's supposed to be a buttercream frosting, but, it tasted of only sugar. And, the consistency was dense and dry. Really, really bad. Unfortunately, the cake tasted plain and was like eating nothing at all. Rather dry, void of vanilla flavor, and crumbly. We'd taken these to a Christmas party and our friends didn't enjoy them either. This was our first and last experience at Susie's. Especially, considering the heavy $77 price tags for a dozen. read more

I felt like the icing was a bit too thick. While it was good it was just too much icing. Next time i order Iwill inquire about getting less icing in the outer layer and in the layers in between. Other than that the bread itself was moist and had a good flavor. The store was clean and organized. The employee was nice and greeted me right away also they gave me some tips on how to store the cake and answered all my questions. I did not like that there was no parking (Austin Bee Cave Location). The only parking was really far and made me nervous as I did not want to drop cake . I had to park up from with my hazards and ran inside store to get cake. I wish this location had reserved parking for Susiecakes pickup only. They take their customer service very seriously- they sent me an email to rate my service. In that email I wrote whats above. They informed me that if you want less icing you need to order it "naked texture" style cake. read more

Love this place!! Came here for a Yelp event and got two giant slices of cake to try. I tried the chocolate and the lemon! Both were fantastic. I'm not a huge frosting person, trust me they both had plenty on them, so I scrapped most of that off, but the flavors were all there and the service was so great too.
