If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I would--this review is long overdue. I've been coming to Sweet Treets for years, and their cupcakes are still my go-to. They've somehow mastered what so many bakeries miss: a light, fluffy cake paired with icing that isn't overwhelmingly sweet. Everything is perfectly balanced and incredibly moist. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten cupcakes elsewhere and ended up scraping half the icing off just to enjoy the cake--but I've never had to do that here. That alone keeps me coming back. Full disclosure... I've never been a huge fan of things like cake pops or similar desserts (again... usually too sweet), so I had completely written off their cake cups, assuming they'd fall into the same category. I was wrong. So wrong. The owner convinced me to try one, and now I have a new obsession. My gateway was the Tiramisu cake cup and I cannot recommend it enough. Highly, highly, highly recommend. It's layered, balanced, and somehow even more indulgent without being heavy or overly sweet. I went back for another and ended up trying the chocolate (only because Tiramisu was sold out), and now I'm convinced you really can't go wrong with any of them. I was hosting my husband's 80th birthday. Because he plays guitar, I wanted his cake to be a 3-D guitar cake similar to the one he plays. After reaching out to several bakeries, Sweet Treets said "we can do it". I met with Christina at Sweet Treets and gave her a photo of the guitar. When the cake was delivered to the venue, the manager called me and said the cake was unbelievable and she has seen many cakes, but this one was the best ever. When we arrived, the cake was identical to the guitar. Even the "strings" of the guitar were perfect. Many of the guests thought it was real. The cake, the filling and the presentation were perfect. I would highly recommend this bakery, especially if you are looking for a personalize and spectacular cake. The artwork created for each cake is sophisticated and detailed. This bakery has it all. My 3 year old daughter and I had turned her birthday cake into a project that we used to talk about colors, shapes and design concepts. Sweet treats joined us in the project with a smile instead of treating us like a nuisance and did a tasting, looked at the pictures my daughter had drawn and listened to both of us with a smile. The cafe itself seems to be variety of cupcakes and other desserts for purchase. In terms, of wedding cake tasting, flavor options were pretty average, nothing absolutely stood out for me. The good is I found someone to make me Whoopie pies I ordered them like two weeks before Valentine's. I asked for some vanilla ones and I got chocolate with vanilla filling a little upset but she charged me $30 but when I went to go pick them up, she only charged me 15. I just recommend if you decide to go here and make sure that you understand and let them know what you want upfront and my friend didn't like them. There were some cupcakes and a few baked goods. Seemed a little sparse before midday. We got to see one of the specialty cakes and it looked very well-decorated. Awesome place to get your special something done. My family has been playing Catan every Saturday since March as we bunker down from COVID. It has been an awesome bonding experience that everyone looks forward to. So, for the end of the year I decided to get cupcakes like a Catan board. I searched around and STB was the one that had the best responses, prompt attention and communicated with me all along. When it arrived, it looked more amazing than I could have ever imagined. All the details into it brought the game to life. They went way above and beyond with the attention to whimsical detail. Finally, it tasted GREAT. Presentation almost made up for the lack of flavor and moisture were it not for the "ice shards" in the back, not what I expected. During corona, it is hard to do much if anything, especially for celebrating special occasions, so I wanted to surprise my boyfriend with a birthday cake. Did some quick Yelp research and called Sweet Treats. They were able to have a cake ready within four days and delivered in time ($20 delivery fee). Elizabeth the owner, was helping customers and she noticed we were waiting to the side for someone. When she finished up her transaction, she immediately came to us and asked how we were doing. We didn't even sign up for a consultation, but she was really gracious and showed us the sizing of the cakes; then explained all the flavors. New York City prices in Austin, TX (And we're from NY lol) Two-pack Two and a half inch (tops!) chocolate chip cookies and an equally small Oreo cupcake for $5.75. The cookies were very very sweet (I like mine to taste more of brown sugar and butter but maybe that's personal preference) but they were perfectly chewy and chocolate was plentiful. The cupcake was good- sponge was moist and the buttercream tasty. Packaging was darling, the theme cakes on display looked spectacular and the worker behind the counter was friendly. I picked up standard cupcakes here for my wedding (carrot cake, red velvet, and chocolate). I actually didn't end up having any, but they looked fine, everyone I talked to said they were tasty, and we didn't have many left over. So I guess that's all you would want from cupcakes! My only concern would be that they had me sign the same forms as for wedding cakes, and they seemed super over the top--pages of policies which basically meant signing away all your rights. Most importantly, the cake was DELICIOUS! We chose the strawberry champagne for the bride's cake and carrot cake for the groom's cake. When we did the tasting, honestly I would have been happy with any of the flavors, they were all SO good, but I was excited to go with the strawberry champagne because it's something a little different. They were super friendly, responsive, and patient. I gave them a photo of the lace of my wedding dress and they designed the piping from the photo. I wanted something elegant but simple, with room for the florist to decorate with flowers. They worked with me to get the design just right, and it came out beautifully. They delivered it safely. I've ordered a few cakes here over the years and they have been amazing. I reached out recently about a cake for a baby shower I was throwing for my sister. In the past, the bakery helped me to finalize my design and come up with a cake that would fit my budget. This time, when I got ahold of someone they were not helpful and quoted me almost 4x what we paid for a similar cake a year and a half before. When I told them that price was more than anticipated and asked them to call me, my email was ignored. I called multiple times before getting someone on the phone and when I asked about the very high price when compared to what I paid in the past, I was finally told the bakery had switched management or ownership (it was a bit unclear) and previously the management had seriously undervalued their cakes. After a lengthy discussion I was told the best they could do was a cake that in my opinion looked miserable for a baby shower cake and it would still cost me 2x what I paid the prior year. After speaking with this bakery, it seems like the change in management or ownership has impacted their business and they no longer offer the customer service or standards of goods that they were known for, nor do they have reasonable prices. read more

We used Sweet Treats for our wedding cake. We had some positives for our experience but the actual cake fell short of our expectations. I'll break it down below. 1. Professional: Emails were always prompt and they do a good job about reminding you when deadlines are. 2. Tasting box: They give you 6 flavors for $25. All of the flavors were so freaking good and moist! We had a hard time deciding which flavor to go with! Ultimately, we chose red velvet with a cream cheese filling. *My maid of honor also ordered a white cake for my bachelorette party and it was also delicious! I was pleasantly surprised with how well it turned out. Given the excitement surrounding our experiences, my fiancé and I were so excited for our wedding day cake. I even dreamed about how delicious the cake would be so you can imagine the hype on our wedding day. My initial thought of biting into our wedding cake was that it was dry and stale. I knew this couldn't be the cake/cupcakes we had tasted, so I tried it again and nope - it was not as magical as I remember. I am no baker but I know a fresh, moist cake and that wasn't it. I was super disappointed because I was so excited for Sweet Treats and I LIVE for wedding cake - it's one of my favorite things to look forward to at weddings and the fact that it disappointed me at my own wedding bummed me out. Given a presentation on the cost. And then left to "taste" the cakes with no guidance. My fiancé was late. Which was ok. You won't be upset you ate this (unless you are allergic to strawberries or some other ingredient). You will even like their fondant. That's right. I said it. You will might even LOVE it. My fiance and I came here with high hopes for our very first wedding cake tasting. From the first moment we walked in, we felt the experience was odd. We were greeted briefly by staff, then waiting up in the big, cold, empty lobby for about 10 minutes. I was wearing a sweater, but still chilly, so asked if I could order a coffee or tea, but they do not serve drinks with their cakes. We were then asked to pay $15 for our experience and escorted to a private room. This small tasting room was cute and full of display cakes with different possible designs. It was still quite cold. A nice, younger girl then asked us to go through what we were looking for, clarify date, delivery options, amount of guests, etc. When she was finished, she left to grab our samples. She brought the samples to us, and we looked at her somewhat confused. There were four tiny, unfrosted cupcakes. One of each flavor we had recommended, as well as four, also tiny, little disposable cups with the different fillings we were permitted to try. Apparently it was a "build your own" cupcake experience. Not only was that odd as we weren't sure which flavors to put with which cake and how much, etc, but also the cakes were terrible! They all tasted stale and dry, except for the lemon cake. The chocolate cupcake crumbled apart when I tried to cut it in half. I am NOT exaggerating, people. All in all, it was a terrible experience, not good cake, AND we spent $15 for that. I wish I had taken a photo of the tiny cakes to show you! We used Sweet streets Bakery for our wedding cake and fruit tartlets and we had the best experience! I reached out through email and was able to make an appointment on a Saturday to taste test. You can try up to four flavors free! We fell in love with the Vanilla Citrus as it was simple for everyone to enjoy but also had a kick of citrus to spice up the flavor. Everyone is still raving about our cake! They said it was so moist and so flavorful, which is rare nowadays. Everyone has beautiful wedding cakes but when it comes to the actual cake, it is usually dry. Not our cake! For the design, I showed them a picture of what I wanted and had the florist leave extra flowers so they can place fresh flowers on the cake. I also wanted to add a small detail to the bottom tier which was a golden retriever peeking out of the cake. I sent Julia photos of our golden and I was so happy to see the final outcome!! We even saved the golden from our cake. My husband is not a big cake person, but he likes fruit tarts, so we were offered the idea of having fruit tartlets instead of a groom's cake. Back up to five stars. We have been coming here for years and I have done a number of reviews. This is a place that changed hands, and stumbled for us at that time, but it is now on track. They even occasionally have the Lady's favorite, which is Mexican Chocolate Cake Balls. They do not have a large selection for walk-ins, but what they have is incredible. This is a place that focuses on quality, not quantity, and is often used for providing cakes for weddings and formal events. I picked up a couple of items for the Lady today as she had gone into shock from lack of chocolate the day before. As always, the staff was friendly, the place spotless. If you want volume for cheap, this is not a place that will satisfy. Want to go high end, you bet! read more

I'd give ten stars if I could. Sean and Lisa were amazing and provided EXACTLY what we were looking for on our wedding day. I have a gluten allergy, so finding a gluten free cake vendor was a challenge! Sweet Treets had no issue with my allergy and the cake was entirely gluten free without issue. I never once felt concerned about my cake being cross-contaminated - they put me completely at ease! They also worked with our theme (Pixar's Up) and brought our ideas to fruition. Nearly every guest told us how beautiful they thought the cake was! Oh, and the best part - most guests had NO idea the cake was GF!!!
