I can't tell you how many times I've gotten cupcakes elsewhere and ended up scraping half the icing off just to enjoy the cake--but I've never had to do that here. That alone keeps me coming back. Full disclosure... I've never been a huge fan of things like cake pops or similar desserts (again... usually too sweet), so I had completely written off their cake cups, assuming they'd fall into the same category. I was wrong. So wrong. The owner convinced me to try one, and now I have a new obsession. My gateway was the Tiramisu cake cup and I cannot recommend it enough. Highly, highly, highly recommend. When we arrived, the cake was identical to the guitar. Even the "strings" of the guitar were perfect. Many of the guests thought it was real. The cake, the filling and the presentation were perfect. It was sooo last minute and during the holidays so I was very nervous about finding a quality cake. After searching the internet and reading reviews, I reached out to Alba. She promptly emailed me back and asked for photos of what I wanted. What I originally sent her was incredibly ornate. She politely let me know that because of the holidays, she wouldn't be able to do exactly what I sent but she was confident she could make me something I was pleased with. I didn't have time or options so I agreed and paid up. Pick up was super easy as Alba is a fantastic communicator. The cake was beautifully boxed and easy to transport. She was reasonably priced for the level of detail and size of cake. After receiving and tasting the cake, I think she could be charging more. Once we unboxed the cake, we were all AMAZED! I picked up my order on Friday, and after a 10-minute drive (with the boxes kept flat the entire time), one of the cupcake containers had shifted so badly that several cupcakes were completely ruined. I tried to fix them, but the frosting had melted and smeared everywhere, making them impossible to fix so I had to throw them away. Even more concerning, I found a fly inside one of the sealed containers. This is a serious food safety concern!!! I immediately emailed the bakery with photos and videos. Up until that point, they had been incredibly responsive to every email. However, the moment I reported the issue, all communication stopped. It has now been three days, and despite being active on Instagram and continuing to post on social media, they have completely ignored my emails. The complete lack of professionalism has been incredibly disappointing. If I owed a business and a costumer reported a potential food safety issue I would make resolving it my top priority! Instead, I was left pregnant, the weekend of the 4th of July, scrambling to find replacement desserts for my baby shower because I had no idea whether they intended to respond or make things right.
