Irene made a stunning Cinderella Cake for my mother's 89 Th Birthday! A lot of intricate details went into this cake. She put the classic glass slipper on top( all sugar and edible) with a blue cushion under it with a lace detail all edible too. She thoughtfully put a gold crown on top of the cake too. I was very disappointed in the product that I received for my Baby Shower. The owner was very impatient and rude to one of my guests during the delivery of my cake. My cake was not what I wanted the owner interjected with her own view points of what she thought was best verses what I wanted during the ordering process. Upon reviewing my cake, the details were not as neat as they could have been neither was the cake detailed enough! The top tier of the cake was very dry and seemed to be a different cake than what the bottom portion was there were also dark oil spots. I was charged $420 for what I paid the product was not worth it. Below are pictures of the cake and the two charge amount of what I paid! Response to the owner: You have been very difficult and a pain to work with. I Spoke with you plenty of times on the phone, now your refusing to talk to me stating we can only talk through email. Everything that you are saying is a lie. I posted how much I was charged which shows $420. I never stated I wanted a pudding cake! What we agreed on is not what I got! The 3rd was my baby shower, and lastly my child's 1st birthday. Her designs have been spot on with her drawings. No surprises. The taste is out of this world. My favorite thing is that she makes the cake look so good and without fondant. She used buttercream which looks like the fondant but is actually edible. I am surprised people have had a bad experience with her. My last order I was so indecisive and annoying I just could not decide what I wanted. A week before my husbands 40th birthday I decided I wanted a "fancy" cake for his birthday party. I did a Google search of local bakeries and found Cakes Chocolates & More. The website was basic but the photo gallery was far more impressive than others I was comparing. I sent in an email request along with a picture of what I was looking for. Very quickly I got a reply and started chatting with Irene. Of course I had sticker shock at paying $250 for a two tier yellow cake decorated in an Oklahoma Sooner theme, but I figured what the heck...and none of my other options had replied to me, or had the availability to get it done, so I went for it. When the cake arrived on Saturday I was blown away, and so was my husband. It was gorgeous and a total show stopper for the party. Every guest knew my husband is THE BIGGEST Sooner fan in Austin, and the cake was spectacular and suited him in every way. And then when we hacked into it...oh my GOD! It was hands down the best yellow cake any of our 50+ guests had ever had. Moist, creamy, not too sweet and totally delicious. As sad as I was to cut into something so pretty, I couldn't stop eating it! Maybe I've just had nothing but HEB/SAMS/WALMART sheet cakes for too long, but I can tell you nothing I've ever had...not even my $1000+ wedding cake in Chicago was as good, moist and amazing as this cake. We paid for 40ish slices, this cake could have easily fed 60+ people. It was so much cake that I have 5 containers frozen for when the cravings that we're sure we're going to have hit. And I brought a huge chunk of it to my office today, and I have had a steady stream of people asking me where it came from. I don't know when I'll have the occasion to order an expensive fancy cake again in the future, but if I need sweet treats, I will be calling Cakes Chocolates and More. Save yourself a lot of time and aggravation--stay away! I don't understand how this woman has managed to remain in business. She's a good decorator, but no more talented than other pastry chefs in town. In my opinion, she's a complete prima donna without the talent to justify her behavior. I ordered a cake for my mother's 70th birthday party. The price was high for the cake, but the location was pretty close to the party site and hey, it was my mother's birthday. She's worth it. A month in advance, I went into the shop to order the cake. A design was decided upon, I chose the cake flavors for each layer, and gave her creative license on the flowers that would decorate the top. I called back about 10 days before the party to make a change to one of the cake flavors (with 4 siblings all having an opinion, I don't think it's unreasonable) and to remind her that the carrot cake layer could not have nuts. I received a polite email from her three days (!) before the party letting me know that for liability reasons, she could not make the cake (the no nuts request). What floored me was the extremely short notice she gave. 3 days?! If I hadn't send an email with the "no nuts" reminder, would she have bothered to let me know? I admit it, I was furious at the short notice. At the very least, if I had had some prior notice, I could've ordered a cake from another bakery. What I HAD decided was that we should go ahead with the order, and the guest with nut allergies would just have to deal with either not eating dessert or having a cake made with supplies from manufacturers that also process nuts in their plants. I called her to let her know that we'd go ahead with the cake, but she refused to do it and wouldn't even let me speak. I phoned the store, but she wouldn't answer. I kept calling because I wanted an explanation and I wanted to tell her how disappointed I was with her lack of customer service. She finally answered the phone and said that if I called the store one more time she would call the police and have me arrested for harrassment and hung up (because the police department doesn't have anything else on which to spend their time, right?) I sent an email, and she responded that the reason they wouldn't speak to me is that they "do not tolerate customers raising their voice or mistreating our employees verbally." I'm not sure how that could've happened, since only one call was answered and I didn't get out a single word before she hung up on me. I sent one final email letting her know how ridiculous I thought she was being and encouraging her to concentrate on customer service. Her prices are sky high, and I agree with Kim Y. -- the cake isn't that great anyway. Her "secret" is to use thinned-out preserves to moisten the cake. As I pointed out in my final email, any baker knows that if you have to use preserves to moisten a cake, you're not a very good baker. I called All in One cake shop that same afternoon and they came through with a beautiful cake on 2 1/2 days' notice. I should've called them in the first place. read more

The rating "Eek! Methinks not" does not even begin to express my thoughts on this woman's professionalism(or lack thereof) .I am getting married and wanted a quote on a 4 tier cake I saw online. I emailed for a quote , then decided to call after I received the quote. For starters I called the business phone and the phone was answered with HELLO?!? I had to look at my phone twice to make sure I dialed correctly. After she said "Um yes this is Cakes Chocolates and More" I let her know I received a quote via email and I wanted to discuss it .She acknowledged she received the email and I told her I had questions on the pricing. My wedding is set to have only 60 guests and she told me the cake I wanted would have a minimum of 160 slices. I asked her how many servings per tier. She had the audacity to ask me IF I KNEW WHAT A SERVING WAS(Really lady?!?!?). After that she asked if it was for a birthday, then I mentioned to her I'd emailed her the information and repeated to her it was for a wedding. I am in total disgust with the business owner attitude, customer service skills, and product. We recently ordered a cake for my sister baby shower, as my sister presented her with a photo of the design she would like for her cake, the owner instantly begin to interject on the image and proceeded to tell her that a three tier cake would never work with the design that my sister desired. They soon reached an agreement that would be fitting based off of the owner stating that she could deliver an exceptional baby shower cake. When I arrived on the day of the occasion, the owner was standing outside fussing that she was running behind and that no one was coming out to grab the cake. Now may I add when I was approaching the location after parking my vehicle, the way the she approached me I assumed she was selling a product, until I look in the windows of the car and saw that she was saying that she was here to deliver the cake. I stated to her did she call my sister cause someone was in the location, she just responded with she running behind and late and even though I had items in my hand i shifted things around and told her I would grab the cake so that she could leave, since she was fussing and carrying on even though she charged my sister $50. The owner did not state prior that she would not walk the cake to the location door, when she accepted the delivery charge she also didnt mention that there is a wait time limit upon arrival to receive the product. Poor customer service. When we cut the cake it was extremely dry, the fondant was very very thick it was not edible at all. Everyone was disappointed because the cake is one of the main attractions and edibles that you look forward to at once in a lifetime events. Once everyone left me and my sister cut the bottom part of the cake it was very dry, with gluey streaks, the cake literally how three different textures, and wasn't even close to being moist let along in truth with whats on her website where she stated you will have both beautiful and tasty cake. The design on the cake was very basic and not even close to the beautiful designs on the cake photo that as requested. When we proceed to resolve the matter with the owner she was very rude, she would not hear us out so that we could try and resolve this problem that happen on a day that my sister will never get back. The owner kept speaking over us and then she hung up the phone in our face. She didnt even give a formal apology vocally and stop to listen to the needs of her customer. She offered only to return $150 when my sister spent $420 on the cake and delivery. We could of receive better customer service, and pricing and a better moist cake from Target or Walmart. She also told my sister that it was a pudding cake, which was never requested at all, but tried to say that's why the gluey streaks were in the cake which was a lie. I would not suggest this company to anyone who wants to have a custom, moist, delicious and beautiful cake for their special occasion, because you will not be receiving that from her and the pricing is not worth the poor customer service or poor product that was delivered. And to make matters worst she did not take the time to reach out to the customer and try and resolve the issue that was created from her poor product and customer service. She put her needs before her customers the entire time and hung up in our face when we tried to see if we could resolve this on a mature level. She had emails with exact instructions and still got it wrong. $120+ for cupcakes is just rude (and I guess I'm ad idiot for paying it but I wasn't there when they were delivered or I would've told her forget it). I've never seen "buttercream icing" that I could peel off and roll into a BALL? Not to mention it tasted like plastic. STAY AWAY. I can't say enough about the adorable cake and cupcakes Cakes Chocolates and More made for my baby shower. My friend gave them samples of the party theme and they were able to match it perfectly. It was by far the prettiest cake I have ever had, I even liked it more than my wedding cake. And it was delicious too! Everyone was so taken by the decorations on the top of the cake that we decided to cut it off so that I could freeze it - it was just too pretty to cut! I really don't know why there are any negative reviews on here at all.
