I've seen Pie Jacked's goods in various stores and cafes for years now, but I had no idea that source was so close to home! The bakery is just a tiny little outpost that I've driven right by a million times, like so many it seems, without every knowing. There's no place to sit inside which makes it best for grab-and-go treats. Pie is right in the name so naturally, I had to grab a few of the minis sitting in the case. They do a proper flaky crust with truly fresh-tasting fruits, honoring their namesake with every bite. The blueberry ended up being my favorite of this batch, but I regret not trying the apple. There are also cookies, bars, and so many other sweets for every craving. I know people say this all the time, but you'd never know they're ALL gluten-free AND vegan. So I had driven by this place many times and finally got lucky to get there when they were open. It's in a small lot, but parking is ok. They have gluten-free and many allergen-free items. These days, it's hard to find quality stuff. I got a molasses cookie and some lemon poppyseed bread. The younger woman who was working the counter was very friendly and informative. I got there around closing, so some things had sold out, but I was still happy with what I got there. I'll have to go back for their pies. read more

I was super excited for a vegan bakery!! Even more so for the vegan fudge. I got a few more items that didn't make it to my photos here. I was a bit concerned that everything is gluten free and vegan. Which in my opinion is very hard to pull off especially with the gluten free flour. You can definitely tell it's gluten free from the texture in all of the products. At least the ones I tried. Everything was good. The pies are super cute! The lady I met today was so sweet and gave me options. She even checked on the rolls for me. Sadly, I couldn't get the rolls. As someone who is basically allergic to life (lots of food intolerances) I was over. the. moon. excited about a bakery that has all I could ever want and wouldn't make me sick. I stopped by on my way out of town and picked up what felt like one of everything. I tried them that day and I have to say everything is SO sweet. It's like I was just eating straight sugar especially the cookie dough bomb. The chocolate pie was pudding in a crust. I had my mom taste test as well and as someone who loves sugar, she thought the same thing. I could only do a little at a time. My favorite was the coffee cake though. I also recommend eating whatever you get the day of. Two days later and all of it is dried out. I believe it was Big Daddy Kane who originally said that making tender and flaky gluten-free pie crust ain't easy. Or maybe that was "pimpin". Either way, the folks at Pie Jacked in Round Rock have nailed it (the pie thing, not the other). It's definitely a family affair at Pie Jacked. A family with a long history of pie making, they found that they needed to work around certain food allergens to accommodate a young family member with autism. Now they've grown up from renting commercial kitchen space and distributing to places like Wheatsville Co-Op (where they were July 2017 Local Vendor of the Month), It's a Grind Coffee, Cafe Yolly, and Monkey Nest to having their own kitchen/storefront, open to the public and next to Nancy's Sky Garden. But don't think of it as a gluten-free bakery that avoids any use of all eight of the FDA's "Eight Major Food Allergens". (yeah, that's really a thing: https://goo.gl/7VPrS6... No milk, no eggs, no butter, no nuts, no wheat, etc.), is GMO and corn-free, and completely vegan. Just think of it as a really good bakery that's pretty much safe for all. We took home a lemon-poppy seed mini-loaf, which was perfection. We also brought home a mini-cherry pie to split, which, sheepishly, my wife offered the final bite of when she realized she had enjoyed almost all of it before I could sample it. I am NOT rating them on a "good for gluten-free" scale. Their stuff is great outright! Full disclosure, my wife was not completely in love with the pumpkin pie she sampled (though the folks right next to us raved about it). But that is more because of my wife's affinity to the "canned pumpkin filling" she grew up with. Pie Jacked's version is more pumpkin-spice/molasses-ey than what she's used to. That's more a difference in flavor preferences, and not a knock. Menu isn't huge (...yet. A few pie flavors, a couple coffee cake variants, and we sampled the brownies which don't seem to be mentioned on the website yet,) But now that they have full-time use of their own kitchen, they have more than enough time to play with new recipes and seasonal ingredients (when, exactly, IS strawberry/rhubarb season???). 4.6 stars read more

My family decided to do some delicious research and check this place out to see if pie would be a viable option for our youngest's upcoming birthday. We ordered the world: * A blueberry cutie pie (cutie pies are "4, 5.00, made to serve one) * A chocolate cutie pie * A chocolate donut with chocolate frosting * Two mud pie crusties (pie crust cookies with chocolate icing) I thought the blueberry pie was something special (and adorable, they fashioned a little piece of pie crust into a snowflake design and placed it on the top of the pie) but the birthday kid who likes most everything wasn't a fan and neither was my husband (he said it was textural - we don't eat gluten-free regularly). Neither of our kids nor myself was a fan of the chocolate pie (flavor was just too strong for me - and I'm a dark chocolate, black coffee kinda gal) but my husband thought it was excellent. Kids loved the donut (which I believe they only have on Saturdays) and the mud pie crusties. We did not end up placing a birthday order because the desserts our birthday boy liked were not the kind you could stick a candle or sparklers in (yes, I had some serious plans for this hypothetical birthday pie) but we will definitely return to try more items from the menu. Pie Jacked is a little bakery storefront in a strip mall, and I feel like it's worth mentioning that there is not much room to sit inside or outside. There is a bistro table outside and one small table inside. The utensils are in a drawer in front of the cash register, and fetching one is a little awkward when there is a line of customers with questions. There also wasn't an accessible trash inside or outside of the store. I spoke to one of the bakers, and they take a lot of pride in what they do and use natural ingredients. They are very forthcoming and detailed, they care about the well being of their customers and the planet, and the business was started because the owner's grandson Jack has some food allergies - just like our little guy and maybe you or a loved one too, if you're reading this review. I haven't tasted the pie yet but the customer service is 50/50. The young woman is amazing but the older woman is cantankerous with audible "sighs" on the phone. Ordered a pie, they made it the wrong day and called to ask why I didn't pick it up. The next day I called before I drove all the way there to make sure it was ready and got lots of attitude from the older woman and basically ended the conversation with, "oh you aren't even here? We love Pie Jacked!! Our fam is not gluten sensitive nor have food allergies but our nephew does and this place is AWESOME!! The coffee cake is a favorite of ours and we've enjoyed almost all of the treats (donuts, brownies, pies, cookies & cupcakes). They've mastered the art of blending all delicious flavors without many top allergens. Bonus: it's next to Nancy's Sky Garden which is soooo good too. The Pumpkin Spice Coffee Cake is *incredible.* For people with celiac, it's hard to find really delicious baked goods. I've used various companies across the US to have baked goods shipped to us, and always sort of regret it - the cost for shipping doesn't make up for the "meh" taste. I was completely delighted to find a bakery that specializes in being free of the top eight allergens, since we also have a tree nut allergy in the family. PieJacked is just east of I35 on Mays. This is easily a five star review IMO not only because these desserts are delicious, but because they shouldn't even exist to be this good in the first place! A pie without eggs, wheat flour, or dairy butter?! They leave out the top 8 allergens affecting people, so come check it out for a safe treat! I was very impressed by the quality of these pies and the selection that also included sandwich bread, brownies, cakes, and sweet bread. I had a blueberry pie that was fully of plump blueberries, not the dried little ones that usually seem to be in filling. It was just sweet enough with a delicate crust, but the flavor was amazing. I also got an apple pie that had perfect thinly sliced apples and sweet cinnamon filling. Both were awesome, but I'm more partial to blueberry. They were easily the best gluten-free pies that I've had ever! I also got a "crusty," which is a pie crust round with chocolate frosting. It had an excellent cocoa flavor that was rich and not greasy and it didn't fall apart! What a winner! read more

Descent and pricey pie. Found this place on google, since I never noticed it driving by. There's not much signage to indicate there is pie here. Stopped by recently and picked up two of their small single-serving pies. The apple and cherry both tasted reasonably good. The fruit was fresh, apple itself was a bit firm. Kind of expected a bit more flavor. In particular as those little pies for $5 each. But that's the novelty tax for ya. Overall, it's good, but I don't see myself back again unless there is a sale or something. Can get a lot more tasty pie for your money just about anywhere else. UPDATE: Another yelper mentioned the all-allergen-free ingredients. I was aware of that (they have many signs), but I should have stated this in the review when noting the cost. However, unless you are in fact allergic to everything or have specific dietary requirements, there are still other tasty and cheaper pies to be had. ;) So yes, it is important to know what you are paying for with regard to the price. read more

I really love this place! I'm gluten intolerant and sometimes don't do well with dairy so I love that this place eliminates the top allergens. I love their crusties (?) I think is what they're called. They're cookies with chocolate frosting. So simple but SO GOOD!!! Their mini pies are great too. Have had all the flavors but peach and apple are my favorite. They've had cupcakes and donuts before, which were good, but not as good as their pies IMO. read more
