Sugarwolf is a relatively new addition to downtown Austin. I love the location right on the corner near a lot of other downtown restaurants so you can pop in for dessert after eating elsewhere. I took off a star solely because I find that for a place their size, the menu was surprisingly short! They have your standard drinks (coffee, tea, etc.) but nothing particularly "stand out." They have some pastries too but again given the size, I was anticipating a lot more variety. All this said -- the staff were so kind and friendly, and the place has tons of seating with a nice central bar area and lots of light. It would be a great place to hang around and read or study in my opinion. I would rec folks check it out even if just to get a feel for the vibe in there, which I think is nice! I hope they add on some seasonal drinks too e.g. pumpkin based stuff in fall and hearty drinks in winter.

The savory pastries are the highest quality pastries I've personally had in Austin. I always get a few - proceed to devour them in the car and think about the next time I'll visit. Service is quick on food while the baristas may take some time due to business. Come early because there will be a line or they'll run out of the full selection of goods by 10-11am. Cold brew was additionally incredibly well brewed. The vibe is a busy, urban, patisserie. Enjoy your visit to Sugar Wolf! By the way, these are most costly but the quality will speak for itself.

This spot became a quick target spot for Austin and I can see why. I have been a few times now and it is yummy, crisp, and buttery. By this I mean I appreciate that with each bite you can taste the use of quality butter along with the paired flavorings. I got the everything onion cream cheese crossaint, 2 fruit tarts, a ham and cheese, and a chocolate croissant. I paired these with a smoked raspberry latte and a matcha. The everything onion croissant was my favorite! A savory taste, obviously, but it had a nice crunch, flaky, and hit the correct consistency. The tarts also were sweet and had a cinnamon like custard that I would absolutely purchase on its own! Imagine that on a cupcake or for another dessert filling. The chocolate croissant was actually my least favorite. I will say they usually say the simplest items can sometimes be the hardest to master. It was not a croissant I would purchase again here since it lacked the chocolate. I feel mine had none which was disappointing. Lastly, although not pictured I recommend the Cinnamon rolls and will have to be back for another! Their cinnamon rolls are huge and very appealing. But more than that I love how light they were and I didn't feel overwhelmed when finished. As for ambiance well it's a sweet spot, but parking is hard and no laptops allowed. I get it, encouraging a no laptop spot for once is something I appreciate so gold star to sugarwolf for implementing such a rule.

Cute bakery! Love bread and the sandwiches were yummy . We ordered the pastrami and roasted porchetta . Shredded kale and apple salad was also delicious. Service was great ! Highly recommend

I liked the smoked salmon focaccia; the flavor was good, but I feel like the bread was a bit stale. The pastries were solid. I enjoyed the berry danish the most. I thought the black sesame matcha latte had no black sesame flavor but tasted good otherwise. I went on a sunday at 10 with a group of 8 and we were able to find a table. The line wasn't too bad with a couple people in front of us but it went quick.

This is a wonderful spot to bring out-of-town visitors for beautiful, delicious pastries and coffee. The ambiance is lovely, and the design is thoughtfully done. I enjoyed everything we ordered and look forward to returning to try more of the menu. I'd wanted to visit since the place opened, but I wasn't willing to wait in line for an hour or more. After one failed attempt when the line was long, I finally made it on a quieter day--and it was worth the wait. The pastries all looked perfect and tempting; I wanted to try every single one. We ordered a butter croissant, a smash sausage sandwich, a cortado, and a smoked lavender cardamom latte. Here's what I thought of each: Butter croissant - 10/10. Beautiful and absolutely delicious. Crispy on the outside, airy inside, yet substantial enough to feel satisfying. Highly recommend. Smash sausage sandwich - You definitely get your money's worth with a generous amount of meat. It was a bit too salty and heavy for a morning meal, though. I'd recommend it more enthusiastically if they dialed back the salt and thickness of the sausage. Still very good overall, and the open-faced presentation is great for photos. Cortado - A little too milk-forward for my taste; I couldn't pick up the coffee as much as I'd expect in a true cortado. The latte art, however, was lovely. Smoked lavender cardamom latte - The least visually appealing item we ordered, but it tasted good and wasn't overly sweet. Enjoyable, though I'm not sure I'd order it again. One small note on the experience: I was looking at the lattes and asked the cashier for a recommendation. She suggested a syrup that didn't appear on the menu. When I mentioned I couldn't see all the available syrups, she said it was listed (without pointing it out). She then recommended the smoked lavender. It felt a bit confusing--almost as if some options were being offered one-by-one rather than clearly displayed. A clearer menu layout would help customers see everything available at a glance. You have to find street parking since this is in downtown.

a nice pastry and sandwich spot in downtown. it's a bit on the pricey side but i think the portion sizes of the sandwichs make up for it. i was a little disappointed of the pastries tho. i tried the french dip sandwich and it was delicious. the portion sizes were pretty big and it had a good amount of protein in it. i would def come back to try another sandwich. i also tried the chocolate almond croissant, which was on the smaller size. i felt that there wasn't much chocolate filling with only two lines along with the almond filling just being on top. i would want to come back to try a different pastry. the atmosphere is clean, nice and busy which reflects the vibes of downtown. the servers were all very nice. parking is a little difficult since it's downtown.

Checked out Sugarwolf Bakery on Sunday at 10:30am with my girlfriends before our HGW and there was a short line out the door. We wanted to see what the hype was all about! I love that they use clean ingredients!! The service was fast and the atmosphere was cute and busy. The food and coffee were average, I have no complaints! Do I understand the hype? Not really! The pastries were on the more expensive-end but hey, at least you know what you're putting in your body!

The hot new spot for a bakery in austin, and it's not hard to see why! Sugarwolf is a beautiful bakery downtown, full of natural light, plants and no laptops. Since opening, the line commonly wraps out the door on weekends, so if you want something specific come early. I arrived at 9am on a Sat and they had just sold their last almond croissant. But their other options such as the ham and egg focaccia didn't disappoint. Their matcha is very green before it's mixed with the milk, so I'd love to come back to try. Premium prices but for premium food.

Delicious but not quite worth the hype. Sugarwolf has been on my list to try since it opened. I finally got a weekend break from keto, and my husband knew it was the perfect time to take me there. We went Sunday afternoon, on July 5th. I figured they might be sold out of things, so I tempered my expectations. Fortunately when we got there they still had my favorites - croissants and one type of cookie (chocolate espresso, the last chocolate chip sold to the person before me. I couldn't choose, so got one of each. We sat to eat for a bit, and enjoy the bright modern space, but then had to continue walking to go to our next surprise (it turned out to be Beauty and the Beast at the State Theater.) The outside of the croissant was amazing, but the inside seemed surprisingly doughy. Or, maybe I shouldn't be surprised because big croissants mean the surface area that can get crispy is less in proportion to the total thing. The cookie was great, and kind of bittersweet as I expected. It was chewy in the center and crispy around the edges. However, it's maybe not as good as some that I've made. It was so rich that after I snuck it in the theater, it lasted me nibbling on it throughout the whole movie. If you're looking for a special place to stop for a treat downtown, consider Sugarwolf. If you're just looking for a tasty treat, you can probably find one just as good somewhere else for a better price and at a more convenient location.

3.8/5 The croissant looked very aesthetically pleasing and fluffy but wasn't as buttery as I wanted it to be. Some parts were dry. Cinnamon roll frosting was great and creamy, didn't taste artificial. That was probably my favorite. The cream onion was okay, but nothing too memorable. I couldn't taste the sesame in my sesame matcha but the drink was still decent and enjoyable. This place was quite pricey for just bakery items. They did have other breakfast items on the menu that I didn't get to try though. Pet friendly. Fun atmosphere inside and friendly staff.

This spot has been getting extreme hype so I decided to check it out - overall, pricey but high quality pastries. As other reviews say, the line can get pretty long but I waited no more than 10-15 min and came on a holiday morning. The everything pastry was definitely the front runner - buttery flaky layers popped with shmear and topped with fresh green onions. Cinnamon roll was pretty dense and sweet but inner part was fluffy and buttery. Probably would come back to try the coffee cube on off hours!

A really cute bakery with lots of selection for drinks, pastries, and sandwiches. It was really nice to be able to see the kitchen employees actually making pastries and working with the dough in the morning. Employees were really nice as well. Unfortunately, the pastries and drinks were pretty disappointing and definitely not worth the price. We ordered the brioche cinnamon roll, berry danish, shakshuka focaccia, and coffee cube for pastries, along with the horchata nitro cold brew and smoked raspberry latte. The pastries were just ok, sort of lacking something I can't place. The coffee cube was the best out of the four we ordered. The drinks were also just okay, there wasn't much raspberry flavor in the smoked raspberry latte and the cold brew also lacked flavor. I probably wouldn't come again.

Not sure if all the burgers are always cooked well-done, but that's how ours were made (and was never asked if I wanted otherwise). We didn't want the caramelized onions so we asked for raw onions but the cashier/cook didn't speak English so the most we could communicate was "no onions." Also, the payment machine was all in Spanish (for selecting tip, signature, etc) so you better brush up on your Spanish if you're paying by credit card!
