1/2 rack of ribs meal with beans and macaroni and cheese.
    David V.

The service is always great here. We have a favorite server and she's very personable. My ribs were tender and easily pulled from the bone. The sides however need attention. The Mac and cheese and the beans needed seasoning. Both were bland. There is no reason for the sides to lack seasoning at a BBQ restaurant. The restaurant is always clean, and feeding the goats after eating is always a nice ending to end a meal.

Unique flavor on the mayo based slaw - not to thick and very smooth Pulled pork is average Brisket has great flavor and cooked very well Spicy sausage is a hearty and extremely flavorful Ribs are cooked to perfection with a stunning flavor The classic bbq sauce is a pretty good sauce Also have pet goats you get to feed

Second time we've visited. Food was as good as I remember. Service was good. Make sure to feed the goats!

Great view, lettuce for goats and every bottled of overly watered down bbq sauce
    Ally O.

Pros Great customer service, recommendations and patience with first timers with questions and more Beautiful view with clean inside and outside seating Feeding friendly goats is a bonus as well Meat is tender and options range Lots of parking Cons Every single sauce is overly and completely watered down, I didnt believe other reviews but I should have Corn Bread like other reviews mentioned, bland that just had some pepper and cheese in it but no flavor Left completely unsatisfied to the point I wanted to eat somewhere else after I did however take majority of the food to go and had the leftovers mixed with bbq sauce I had at home and it was so much better. So for that I would say 4 stars Highly recommended getting it to go and putting any other bbq sauce on it besides what they have there.

Service was awesome they are very nice love the views and feeding the goats after I ate lunch was a nice touch. I got the BBQ platter for two cause I wanted to try some of everything and it did not disappoint took home dinner as well there was so much left over. The cowboy pintos are amazing, seriously good. The BBQ was great brisket is delicious and the Jalapeño sausages are the bomb. The ribs are so good as well, next time I'm in Chattanooga this is the place to stop for sure.

three tacos with mac & cheese

Absolutely loved this place! It's a counter-service spot, but the experience felt way higher than that. My friend and I both ordered the three tacos -- one of us got brisket and the other got pork butt -- and we shared. Everything was tender, flavorful, and so good. We both got mac & cheese on the side, and it was amazing. Once you sit down, there's a whole lineup of sauces to choose from, which was super fun to try. And even though it's not table service, there were always staff walking around checking on us and making sure we had everything we needed. Huge plus. They also have goats outside the restaurant and actually give you lettuce to feed them, which was such a unique, unexpected touch. Overall, great food, great vibe, and such a memorable experience. It's on the corner of a hill right when you pass out of Chattanooga so you can't miss it!

Delicious! The pork butt taco was scrumptious! The ribs are an absolute must! Fall off the bone and perfectly spiced! An added bonus is feeding the goats out back! So much fun! Love this place! Perfect for families!

Spicy Pork Belly Tacos and Mayo Slaw

I first saw this restaurant on Yelp while I was looking for places to try for our anniversary trip..I was automatically drawn to this place because of the goats. The staff is friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. I got the spicy pork belly tacos and mayo slaw - the tortillas tasted fresh and the meat was very tender and flavorful. We kept talking about how good it was on the way to our next activity. The goats are just a cute plus!

Grilled cornbread, better than it looks

As always, Sugars did not disappoint. The ribs were amazing as always, but I chose to change it up this time with something I haven't ever ordered before. I went in for the legs and wings. Man, oh man were they good. Smoky and a little bit of mopping glaze on them. Perfectly suited for some of their Hot Lips barbecue sauce. My girlfriend had her go to dish, the pulled pork and she chose the wood grilled okra. Do not knock it, it is amazing. This time we even fed the goats and they gave us a tray of cabbage to feed them. What a fun date night this was. Barbecue and feeding the goats!

Stopped for lunch with friends, a rib plate and three taco sampler plates, with tea, water, and a Coke Zero were ordered. The menu is varied with several different ways to present your food. Sandwiches, taco's, sampler plates, single and multiple meat plates, etc. sides are plentiful with vinegar slaw OR ma yu o slaw, greens, etc. Our orders arrived after a short wait, the three who ordered the taco sampler plates agreed the pork and brisket tacos were better than the chicken, though my chicken was moist. Two of us ordered greens which came with grilled corn muffins, the other two ordered mayo slaw. We're coming back, there are too many options to ignore. We believe this will be on our regular stop list.

Sugar's was great. Very Mom & Pop vibe with cool views and of course, the goats. My service was awesome and helpful. I recommend checking out Sugar's!

This is a counter service restaurant. Well you order at the counter and they bring out to you. We all order pull pork sandwiches. Meat was good but the sauces? well multiple ones to choose from and the all appeared to be watered down. Disappointed in atmosphere and you can't really enjoy patio seating do to the freeway traffic. Kids will enjoy as they can feed goats and overall for the price it was fair.

    Chicken Plate Q for 2
    Megan W.

We were all pleasantly surprised! My group of 5 split three plates, and there was enough food. We got a variety of meats, including chicken, ribs, and pork. All the proteins were a hit! We didn't love the cornbread or sides, but definitely still delicious. As for the service, you order up front and they bring the food to you. It's more of a fast casual style restaurant, but we did not need much help. We were also surprised to learn of some animals in the back? It was cold out so we did not visit, but definitely interesting!

My family gets food to go from here all the time and every time it is great. The service is good. And the ambiance of the place is good.

Everything about this experience was top-notch! From being seated quickly upon entering, to explaining how the ticket validation thing worked (more info at the end), customer service was some of the best I've been shown. The ambiance is chic but casual-great for both cozy date night or fun family night. Our server was so friendly and patient as we asked questions about the menu. I ordered the grilled salmon with spicy crab remoulade and my guy ordered the smoked wings with a side of fries. I was happy that I was able to select my own sides from the ones on the menu so I opted for the fried Brussels sprouts with maple and bacon and the buttermilk whipped potatoes. After a short wait, our food was brought out. This was truly one of the best salmon dishes I have ever eaten! The salmon was cooked to my liking, the potatoes were soft and fluffy and the fried Brussels sprouts were absolutely divine and perfect. The remoulade was a little salty but it may have been just been my taste. The potatoes helped with that so it was not a deal breaker. My guy was pleased with his food as well and I could tell he enjoyed everything he ate. We agreed that we would take this trip back just to eat this meal again. It was truly a wonderful experience, from beginning to end. I highly recommend trying this gem out! Pro Tip: The restaurant validates parking. If you park in the lot across the street, do not prepay on the app or online. Ask the servers at the front to validate to save the $18 parking fee before you order and within 15 minutes after entering. Unfortunately, we didn't do this and the restaurant cannot reimburse the money after you've already paid. You've been warned!

It's always nice when visiting from out of town when you can get a variety of local beers all in one place. The server was also so nice and talked with us about the area, which was thoughtful. The inside was huge! But we sat outside under their covered porch. They have TVs, but there weren't any fans. If it's hot, I'd opt for inside! Will def return again especially on their special nights during the week!

Wound up at the aquarium for a couple hours and ended up hungry at the very end of it. Not far from where we were parked we found the Wooden City conveniently across from it all (dare I say a brisk walk's worth) with Mellow Mushroom and Ben & Jerry's establishments at both corners. We were given the options of staying inside or being placed outside and we chose (biased a lil) the opportunity of eating outside. We were taken care of accordingly by Jonathan, who is a perfect example of someone that makes tourism worth it, we chitchatted back-and-forth and came across some great options on our appetizers and drinks. While we waited for drinks, we were served water with ice as the weather outside was pleasant but a little too hot for the afternoon... When the appetizers arrived, we were greeted by not only demonstration, but taste above what I've had as of recent. Wife enjoyed the freshness of the tomatoes and cheese whilst I was mesmerized by how subtle and uber smooth my Old Fashioned was. We unwinded and talked about our day here in this city and then our next meal plates arrived. I had the very unique and well presented Beet Ravioli and the wife had the exquisite Spicy Lamb Rigatoni. Immediate upon arrival to our table my wife and I exchanged a bite of each other's plates to give a chance for our taste pallets to experience one another. The Beet Ravioli took back my wife to a time where she made something of similar taste and the Rigatoni took me back to California when I tasted something familiar then. Towards the end, I saved the location at the name of the restaurant, as I would like a near future to come back and visit with more time. Jonathan was an absolute help for our satisfaction in Chattanooga and we are thankful.

It was also a beautiful day so we sat on the patio. I love that they work with local organizations for fresh vegetables and meat! Our waiter was very nice and fairly attentive. But the food... For the good - the crab cake was delicious. It was like all crab meat with no filler and was very tasty. The pimento cheese was also SO yummy. You could tell it was made fresh and had a great flavor. The pita it came with was fine, a little over-grilled. I was not crazy about the fried okra. I wish the pieces weren't just cut in half, because to me they had that slimy okra texture inside. My gf said they weren't THAT bad, but I really had to push myself to eat them. The rosemary fries have a great flavor and were crispy (I prefer thicker fries but my gf enjoyed these). I LOVE mac and cheese and was super excited to try theirs. It was very creamy and had a good flavor but there was way too much cheese for the amount of noodles. Like the ratio was pretty off. Now for THE issue. My gf ordered the Filet Mignon, medium. It came raw and without the blue cheese compound butter. By the time the waiter came to check on us, I was half done eating. He took the steak to be put back on the grill and brought it back with a bowl of crumbled blue cheese. It was still raw inside. He brought us extra fries, but by the time it came back I was done eating. She asked for it to go and it was STILL RAW. She had cut it, so it was super obvious if you looked. The manager came and talked to us and they took it off the bill, but for a $40 filet mignon it should not take 3 tries to cook it right and it still not really be right. She said there are cold spots on the grill and they're training a new line cook, but it was not a good look... I'd maybe give more of a pass if they were packed, but there was no one eating inside and maybe two other tables of folks outside.
