DO NOT use Student Movers unless you want a nightmare move. When I called for service they guaranteed a four hour move and priced at $830 for two moving professionals and 28' foot truck. After arriving two hours late what I got was 1 man and a trainee. While I watched them begin it was clear they had very little experience and zero customer service. 2 hours in they began to argue with each other to the point almost coming to a physical fight. I had to break them up on 3 separate occasions. It took over 8 hours for them to finish all while my whole family had to pitch in to help. They broke two pieces of furniture and took 1 1/2 hours for lunch. Then the company had the audacity to bill me an extra $1100. VERBALLY ABUSIVE OWNER - PLEASE SEE HIS RESPONSE TO OTHER 1 STAR REVIEWS Beware!!! Worst move EVER. I had to hire another moving company to finish the job. I called Student Movers to discuss the lack of progress during the move. First, the phone lady told me I was lying, and produced hours old video feed of my house. She even said, 'bet you didn't know we were videotaping you.' I didn't know. Is this even legal? Then the owner of the company called and yelled at me, literally yelled, to tell me how hard his guys were working. He would not let me talk, so I hung up. The moving guys just left my new house. About 75% of my things made it here. And they are all in my garage. Nothing inside the house. 6hours to move a 600 sq ft apartment all non-furniture items completely boxed up and ready to go. And somehow it didn't get even close to finished. I tipped the guys not because they did well, but because I feel bad that they are working for this company, it is clear that they are instructed to take their time. Hired another moving company for 4 hours to finish the job tomorrow. Unbelievable. RESPONSE TO THE OWNER: I denied your attempt to charge my card. You were not authorized and therefore the bank's fraud dept contacted me immediately. Perhaps this has been a problem for you? The guys waited for 20 minutes, and I paid them for every second. Strange that you would suggest I was trying to get out of my bill as I paid in full, on time, in cash. Plus a pity tip for the workers, they're hourly and have no choice but to follow your directions to take their time in order to charge more. Your tone toward all your 1 Star reviews is appalling, and regardless of what you choose to say, everyone can now see exactly what you are. No one will make you a better person. If I could give this company 0 stars, I would! Do not book your move with them. They are scam artists. My mother and I needed to move immediately, we scheduled the movers for 4 pm and they came at 6:30pm. The owners mother called me with one of the movers on the line -which is so unprofessional- to inform me that the movers "had such a hard day and worked so hard" and suggested that I "hopefully give them a good tip". Once they arrived TWO AND A HALF HOURS LATE, they proceeded to move everything so slowly, I caught them hanging out by the truck on their phones several times. Their "guarantee" is to have EVERYTHING moved out and moved in the same day....that did not happen. Later that initial moving day, we bought the movers dinner because they're boss had told us "how hard of a day they had" and that they had not eaten all day so we were trying to be nice. However, when they gave me the receipt of how much I needed to pay, it was a INSURMOUNTABLE amount of money, they doubled the amount. I told them I was not going to pay that and I would call their boss in the morning but I ensured they would still get paid. So I did not authorize any transactions. I called first thing in the morning and left a voicemail, I called later in the afternoon...voicemail, I wanted to make sure they got paid but fairly. I come to find they took out nearly $900 out of my account that I made the reservation with, when I called again for the 3rd time, I got voicemail. They never returned my calls. I tried calling again today and they BLOCKED MY NUMBER. Mind you they blocked my number and fraudulently took money out of my account. This is NOT OKAY. It is so unprofessional! We are reporting them. This is unacceptable! I hope none of you will have to fall victim to the student movers. read more

If I could give this place negative stars I would. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR HOME AND YOUR FURNITURE. There were multiple problems during the process. 1. they were supposed to arrive at 10:00 AM. They did not arrive until 11:30 2. upon arrival, they had zero supplies. I had to supply bubble wrap and use my comforters as packing materials. 3. they did not have the waiver upon arrival so after the goods were loaded I had to follow them to the rental truck location to retrieve it. 4. most importantly they scratched pieces of my furniture, deeply enough that a full refiinish will be needed. I had a worry free move with Student Movers! the two guys who came to my old apartment at 8am very very nice and friendly and, most importantly, patient with my indecisiveness. they loaded everything quickly while i ate breakfast and we were quickly on our way. A reckless group of boys who smelled like they have been smoking come in to move my staff..I caught one of them looking through one of my jewelery box (which I purposely left empty) ..they stuffed all clothing (with hangers) in boxes & when I took them out they all looked misrable..& on top of that they gave me an attitude on my 2 gym machines (which was the first thing I talked to them about when I called to make the appointment) ..& for packing part of my house (only second floor) they charged me close to 3K. Terrible experience! You can tell by their responses to other reviews that they don't value customer service and are overly defensive. Our people only moved about 2/3 of our stuff (leaving things like floor lamps, rugs, wall hangings, etc), requiring us to finish by ourselves the next day. They broke off the bottom piece of our fridge by trying to ram it through the door that wouldn't fit. They not only put together all our beds incorrectly - but each bed had missing/lost pieces that we had to buy the next day to fix the beds. I will never use or recommend this company to anyone. We agreed on using my credit card to be charged at the end of the move. Half way through, the movers came to me and told me that they wanted to be paid from 8am when they started at 930 and I booked them for 10. The office also accused me of booking twice. And they were demanding cash when they had my credit card number. They wanted me to pay double. I was also charged a traveling fee that was supposed to be included in the price and the job was just moving normal household items to a pod , no pianos , no safes....I was also falsely accused that my credit card was being denied and it wasn't . My belongings are still in the pod and I hope nothing got broken. This moving company is a nightmare. You were given 6 days notice and my card was not declined and I have proof of payment. read more

Who would've thought that moving would be such a pleasant experience?! We realize after not having moved for 28 years that the move was going to be a hurdle. But I'll tell you, from my heart, that we hit the jackpot by having Greg and Zane be our movers today. They were extremely efficient, smart about details and extremely professional. They allowed us to have some peace of mind on us downsizing from a house twice the size, down to a much smaller home. Be sure to ask for Greg and Zane on your move next time. I normally don't give reviews but their service was so bad I have to. They were an hour and a half late, they came with a truck full a trash and an unusable dolly. One of the movers was very argumentative and didn't want to do what we asked. They were overwhelmed and when they called the dispatcher the dispatcher said just take your time which ended up charging us an extra $300. The dispatcher was rude, combative and had no customer service skills what so ever and when you tried to talk she would just talk over you. When unpacking we found several items broken, cracked and ripped. We over heard the movers several times swearing with the f word about us. Poor management and dispatcher to allow these kids to act like that and work with no work ethic. I would be ashamed of my son if he worked like that and treated customers the way they treated us. This is my second time using Student Movers and I would use them a third. I requested a time between 8 and 9 a.m. they showed up with a truck at 8:15 had me sign paperwork, show them around the house and they wold start the time when they were situated. David and Rodney are 2 hard working trust worthy guys. I had my brother and some of his friends help to move boxes outside just to speed things up. But overall we moved a 4 bedroom house with no damage to either home or boxes so I was extremely happy. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. The movers permanently damaged my couch and fridge and when I called to resolve the issue with their customer service I was screamed at on the phone and then hung up on. I am still in shock that this business has been around for 15 years. I have never been treated so badly by a business in my life. They literally don't care about their customers or the damages the cause to your property. Never use this company!!!! ...... The company has since taken steps to try and fix the problem. They had my couch cleaned as well as my fridge. There was still permanent damage that could not be fixed. The movers left behind a lot of stuff, requiring me to make multiple trips after the fact. They often took less per trip than they could have really stretching out their visit and driving the cost up. The movers were not good, but the worst part was the customer service when I tried to address the situation. The woman who answered the phone the couple times I called was astonishingly rude to the point of being combative, instead of attempting to remedy the situation, she made it worse. Movers were excellent, but HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE by the office/ operator. After my things were moved I was requested to write my credit card info in entirety onto a form. Several days later, my card info was stolen and a purchase for $71 in pizza was made in Temecula, right next door to the moving office in Murrietta. I called the office to voice my concern that my information may have accidentally landed in the wrong hands, and I was accused of blaming the "ex- military movers" (how dare she exploit our troops' name before even an investigation) who would "never waste thier time or be bothered with my money" (tacky) and condescendingly told that they had already been in Newport Beach that day, which the operator felt compelled to describe in detail as a "very rich" community with "a lot of money". So tacky! I tried to explain that I was not accusing the movers, but she kept talking over me, and when I interrupted her, SHE THREATENED THAT SHE COULD TURN ME OVER TO "HER LEGAL TEAM AT THE DROP OF A DIME." Rude, rude, rude and tacky. Loved the movers, hate that the company allows a tacky, angry operator to condescend me and apparently reference demographical economics over the phone and then threaten me with "her legal team". What are they going to sue me for?? Being CONCERNED about my credit card fraud that coincidentally happened within days of my move and right by their office, over 20 miles away from me? With all her vehemence, she was acting like I was accusing her. Wonder if she's had any pizza lately?? Disgusting behavior. UPDATE: From reading other posts, I'm not the only person who's had a horrible experience with the customer service woman. Stay away from this company that continues to subject it's paying clients to this lady. Why is she not fired for the way she treats clients? I used to own a cleaning service that serviced all of South OC and OC beach communities (like Newport Beach). I intend to inform all my former clients of this situation. Especially since she mentioned that they serve the "rich" people in Newport. I doubt those "rich" people would want to deal with her should there be any issues. read more

I called the company as my first choice since I am an educator and have a soft spot for students. When I spoke with the woman who answered the phone, It warmed my heart to learn that they also employ veterans. Problem is her demeanor was so condescending-proceeded to lecture rather than work with a potential client. I was so turned off. Too bad.
