I know, that bowling certainly seems like the old man place to be, but it really is a great time to be had by all. The staff is friendly and quick to provide service. The price is great and is done by the game, not by time. Usage of their bowling system is quite intuitive and very easy to use. The shoes, come on, who doesn't love a good looking pair of bowling shoes. Everything that could go well did and made for an extremely wonderful experience. Top all of this, you get the food which is part of the Lane 25 side of the house and the kitchen breaks out some fantastic bar food as well as some great pub food for those who wish to get something more than just finger foods for a bowling activity. This place is not too bad. It seems to be pretty clean and well up kept. I've been there a few times most recently tonight. We order some onion rings, French fries, garlic crude balls and drinks. All were great appetizers while playing with our group. However this review is not getting five stars simply because of the guy at the front desk seem to be a little snippy, rude and overdirect. Tonight for instance he was getting everybody shoe size my friend stars her son size and then when they were distributing the shoes we noticed his missing, so mom was like of we didn't get my sons and he very snippy said "you didn't give me his shoes size" which I clearly heard her give the shoe size because I was even able to quote the kids shoe size to him but the fact of the matter is he didn't even have to say that comment especially in the tone he did. And then the last time we walked in there to attempt to possibly play a game or 2 any 2 wks ago he was also the one working the front desk and as soon as we walked in and we were just talking amongst ourselves in a group he quickly jumped in and shouted aways over to us that he didn't have any lanes available. Strike City is great for bowling, watching a basketball game, and relaxing with a beer and friends.They also have a bar inside, and a mini golf course next door. The bowling alley is fairly small, less than 25 lanes. I'm not sure the exact number, but there are plenty of bowling balls and shoes to go around. Almost seems like too many for the number of lanes, but there's always options. The do cosmic bowling every Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. The employees are fine, there are no real complaints. They are always helpful when needed, and take care of issues pretty quickly. They don't do anything spectacular, or are super cheerful. They are just normal, really. I have no problem with that. It is clean, comfortable and fun. They have tables with four chairs at each lane, so there is a place to eat, relax with the group you're with, and visit in between games. The food is pretty good. They also have a full bar, called the Spare Room, with a fairly large food menu, including burgers, appetizers, and much more. The prices seem really reasonable. I've had mozzarella sticks and a burger before. I have no complaints there. One of the things my husband likes is the TVs. They have the ones that have the game scores, and he likes the graphics after you've played. Plus they have others in between lanes with whatever sports games are currently going on. So he can watch Blazer games, if they are on, while we are playing and keep an eye on the score. I always wish this was closer to my house, and that's really what keeps me from going more often. There are a lot of good memories here and if I ever was in Eugene and felt like bowling again this would be my first choice. Strike City is nothing extraordinary, but a very dependable bowling alley that is perfect for students, families, and bowling lovers alike. The place isn't big, there are only about 24 lanes and a small arcade to boot. There are plenty of balls and usually they have enough bowling shoes for everyone. Service is good here, but sometimes they take awhile to tend to lanes if there are balls stuck or some type of a system error. Like most bowling alleys, the food is mediocre. Any bowling alley vet knows this, but that's not the reason for the star deduction. I've had multiple experiences where I've chosen bowling balls that were not clean. Be it greasy or sticky, it was not the most ideal situation. But what keeps us all coming back, is their dynamite specials. Back when I was in school, it was $1 a game, but now they have $2 per game nights which run from 9 to Midnight from Monday to Thursday. The same price is also during their Happy Hour (3-6PM) as well. Good bowling, but wasn't impressed with the employees and their service. They did the very minimal tonight (cosmic) and it wasn't very busy at all. We came in around 10 and they still had multiple lanes available. We came here for my cousins birthday, but they wouldn't allow the birthday cake in. They have a little cafe where you can get fries and a soda. The girls working behind the counter completely ignored us. Great interior, very up to date, clean and functional. Service was very poor. Employees seemed annoyed to be bothered with selling you games or shoes. Hours say open until 12 but bar was closed at 11 and music was turned down and all screens just off by 11:15 basically pushing us out of there. My wife and I came here last weekend for a bowl-a-thon sponsored by many different local business's. We actually had a good time, it was middle of the day and they still killed all the lights and turned on the black lights, disco ball, and all that flashy fun stuff. We got to play 2 free games and do a bunch of raffles and 50/50 for charity. They have a bar located down stairs. During league you can bring up a pitcher of beer, but other than that it's a no. Not too much else to say about the place, it was clean, staff was friendly, and there was a guy controlling the bumpers so when kids were up they wouldn't throw a gutter everytime. read more

We had four lanes and I had family with babies sitting at the 4th table he told them they had to leave the table for another group who didn't even use the table because there was a table right in front of their one lane. I came here just to buy bowling grip cream, but the 5ish minutes that I spent here was unpleasant. The guy at the cash register was unwelcoming and rather standoffish. I was not welcomed and he didn't look at me the entire encounter. Her helped a guy that came up to the counter after I did and told me "one sec" when i asked for the grip cream. We exchanged the $5 for the grip and he didn't say anything or ask me if I wanted a receipt or anything. It's too bad this is the only bowling alley in town. read more

The people operating this establishment are the worst ever- they won't take reservations after 5- so you can't do a party pack after 5- we got an ok to bring pizza from the other side (putters) and cupcakes- then we walked in- weren't allowed to eat our food- then everyone else who came to our party was "talked to and warned" that if we were eating we would be asked to leave. After dinner a pal and I decided to go to Strike City to bowl a coupole games. It was busy,however there was no one at the counter in line, so my friend asked if there were any lanes open. NO RESPONSE from the 2 goons at the front desk. We continued to stand there,and after 3 minutes of being ignored because the assholes at the counter were watching TV, I said "Fuck It". We came at 11:23, and they wouldn't let us bowl. Their policy is that you have to be here by 11:30, which is reasonable, but they were very rude about it and condescending, and would not let us bowl even though we were here before 11:30. We could have easily finished a game by 12, but they were difficult and would not let us bowl. Very disappointed. read more
