Fun family night while visiting Eugene. Not all balls are out on the floor, if you have big fingers ask the counter for an adult sized lighter ball. Our ball return failed twice but the staff was right on it. Never tried the food except for the fries which were standard. My kids said the ranch dressing was mid and needed more ranch flavor. $68 for a family of four playing two games with an order of fries and one soft drink and one beer. read more

The service was friendly. The place was clean. They had lanes open on a Friday night at 6pm shockingly. One thing I really liked was that you could charge your food and drinks to your lane. That was super convenient. One thing that was a little annoying, and this is a real nit picky thing to bring up, but definitely something I didn't love, was the fact that we were placed at the lane all the way at the end, and there was a worker dusting the walls while we were playing. My sister and I went on a Saturday, and it was packed and we were given a lane in which the auto-scoring didn't work. "Just take turns," is basically what they told us. When we told them we didn't want to do that, they moved us to another lane where the balls were "swallowed," and we had to tell them to run down there and get the balls returned. Three games with shoe rental cost each of us $20. Wowza. Not worth it. As I was leaving the guy at the counter said "Sorry I couldn't give you the senior discount today." Thanks for the snark, dude. The owners opened in the 60's and still own/operate this great local bowling alley. They have updated the lanes, seating, & more throughout the years and this is truly a great place to bowl. They offer league play as well as stay open late for great date nights or family/friend play. Don't go in on a Monday night, as it's league night and the place is totally filled up until 9. I learned this after attempting to go in with my husband earlier. Even though we didn't get to bowl last night, we have been here before, and we like it. Every other one we would typically go to has either burned down or closed in recent years. So this is the closest and cleanest place around now. This bowling alley is huge! Which really stands out to me. They have alleys on each side of the building, and then an air hockey table in the middle and other arcade style games. It's a very open arrangement and not cramped at all. I always battle it out on the air hockey table with my husband when we are here, having to play at least two games. I am very competitive with him whenever we find somewhere with an air hockey table. So whenever we are here, we get to indulge that competitive spirit, and our inner 5 year old selves as well. It's definitely a lot of fun. The parking lot is huge as well, so there is always somewhere to park. I've never had to drive around looking for a spot. Watch the speed bumps though. They are pretty big, and actually nauseate me after I've eaten. After a couple, I had to get out and walk to the door while my husband parked the car to avoid any more of them. The lines in the lot can stand to be painted again, as they are a bit hard to see when it is dark and raining, but that is really my only complaint about this place. They appear to share the lot with Abby's pizza, as the restaurant is at the end of their parking lot, and attached. The staff is always friendly, and answers any questions. They are always up front about prices and information. Which I appreciate. When we went in last night, a man who appeared to be the manager told us they had league night going on, so they had nothing until 9, but they were open until 11. I appreciated that he gave us all the pertinent information, and wasn't rude about it or anything. He was helpful, even though he couldn't get us in. It's also a very clean bowling alley. Most of them have dirty carpet, smell funky and have greasy bowling balls from people eating and touching them. Here, they actually keep things clean, well-lit and that makes it comfortable. I appreciate the fact it is so clean. I honestly can't remember if they have food here or not. Most bowling alleys do. But we usually stop in here after we've eaten dinner, so we are too full to eat, and so checking for a snack bar or anything has never crossed my mind, and if they do have food, I don't have an opinion on it because of this. Even though we couldn't bowl last night, we will definitely go back, as we have been here several times before, and never had a bad experience. We just know not to go on a Monday night, as it is league night, unless we want to go later in the evening. read more

It's a Monday afternoon and very slow, I asked the man up front about food and he said I have to ask the people in the back, I said there was no one back there. Stumbled across this place looking for a late-evening beer amid the North Eugene strip mall sprawl. It was great. The decor, bowling scoring computer system and feel is untouched 80's, which made for a refreshing reprieve from the onslaught of polished high-end bowling venues that are more theme park than gathering place. It was quiet for a Saturday night, but talking to the friendly staff made it clear that this place can take off from time to time. There is a modest bottled beer selection available at good prices. I will definitely go out of my way to enjoy this gem sometime in my future travels to Eugene. read more

Don,t bowl here the manager /owner only cares about profit. My kids and I were bowling and we had to manually reset the lane every time the girls bowled. After we complained about it he said it would cost $300.00 to fix and he wasn't going to fix it. We were over charged from the web page he had posted instead of honoring the prices he raised them. I will never go there again and hope anybody who reads this will go elsewhere. This place deserves no stars. The food in the snack bar was pretty good. When l tried using my debit card the lady said sorry we only take cards at the front desk, so i had to use cash. Just a bad experience all the way around. Do Not Go There!!!! read more

Firs Bowl is my bowling alley of choice for the Eugene/Springfield area. The owners are nice and willing to quickly help if there is ever an issue. They have food there, but be prepared to use cash as they don't have a debit/credit machine in the food area. Firs Bowl runs the entire gambit from leagues (call ahead to ensure you don't come in during a league night -- sometimes the league only takes up one side of the alley so there are still free lanes, but you should always check first), to Monte Carlo bowling (they didn't do it last year but I hope it returns), to Cosmic Bowling. They have a few arcade games and a pool table as well so there are a few different things to do there. I like the atmosphere, I like the location, the owners are nice and helpful, and the pricing is reasonable. They updated the video monitors for the scores a while back across the board and it is a lot cleaner and easier to read now. My friends and I like going there and our kids have fun going there as well. Plus, if it matters, Firs Bowl is a Pokestop for the kiddos as well. read more

Music selection really stunk, no kidding! Any time I hear loud female moaning at a family bowling alley, flares go up (who's babysitting the help for crying out loud?!?). Firs Bowl is close to our house so that's why choose to go there. It is a no frills, clean, friendly kind of bowling alley. The man behind the counter always explains their different bowling packages with a smile. Not what I'm used to from placing in la. There are two different sections of lanes, a little arcade section for the uninterested, and they serve beer in bottles shaped like a bowling pin. (Definitely a must for any bowling establishment, in my book) The "cosmic bowling" or whatever leaves a little to be desired. I say do it up right, or loose it all together. Its too bright in there for the black lights to have any effect and the music isn't loud enough. I think it might even be a juke box situation. I'd rather a continuous playlist or radio so the music doesn't stop. Anyway, I like this place. As yelp would classify my three stars, it is indeed A-ok. read more

Less then one star! I was here for pool league, but they don't take card at the "snack bar" . So it cost $7 for a beer cuz of the $3 ATM fee. And they close at 10, but don't bother saying that they stop serving at 9:30. Seriously NOT a place for a pool league & if it is either accommodate or inform people! read more

We came in at 11:40, twenty minutes before closing time. It was like entering the twilight zone or a time machine. Nothing has been updated since the '80s. The concession area is set up like a '50s diner. Six of the seven of our party had already had a few drinks (or more). We got two lanes and two rounds of bottled beer. We were the only patrons and more than a little obnoxious. Yelling, cussing, banging fists on tables... The staff looked like a quiet/reserved family. At the end, some of us were even throwing balls together down the same lane. We stumbled out after their closing time and had our scores printed on corrugated paper. We discovered a phone was lost. I called, expecting little sympathy after how we'd acted. The man not only looked around the lanes, the concession area, and the restroom, he then offered to put on his coat and look in the rain in the parking lot. I was astounded by his kindness. He saved the phone from being destroyed in a rainpour. read more

The building has a setup like no other bowling alley I have been in. You walk in the door and you see 16 lanes on each side of the building separated by the concourse. The prices for this bowling alley are lower than any where else I have found in town and the staff do go out of there way to be friendly and helpful, not something seen much anymore. The bowling shop is helpful and I have bought most of my equipment from them, very pleased with their knowledge and help. I am an avid golfer and do enjoy the different and unique courses more than the plain Jayne's' of the world, this bowling alley is unique and different than most I have come across. read more
