The route setting is top-notch, with a colored system that is way better for progression than the V-scale. The place is huge, too, with a ton of variety. Out of all the bouldering gyms in the state of Oregon , this one is my absolute favorite! I can't say enough good things about this place. Where do I start, first off the gym is very large and they have plenty to of parking. It's conveniently located a block over from REI in case in need some last minute climbing gear. You can rent shoes so you don't need any gear but just in case you want your own, rei is so close! They have so many great holds and the setters here really put a lot of thought and effort is every set. They have a kilter board too! Being only 5'0" my reach can be an issue at many indoor gyms but not here! They really set for all heights, I absolutely love this place! Also, there's really good pizza next door! read more

Awesome bouldering gym! It's always a treat to find a modern climbing facility with good wall variety and a colored hold system so you don't have to get confused by an onslaught of crowded colored holds and tape that confuses you while you're trying to figure out the climb. Climbing areas are spacious and staff are friendly. Vibe is relaxed, and it doesn't get too crowded. Parking is ample. The gym has showers, an indoor bike rack, training wall, moon board, and an upstairs lounge area with tons of outlets. Workout area doesn't have too many machines such as treadmills, ellipticals, etc. but there is a rowing machine, rings, weights, bands, one bench, etc. If you already know how to workout with props (which I don't but should learn to do so I can climb harder) you'll probably be fine with what they have. If you're into rope climbing, head to Crux. If you're into bouldering, this is the spot! read more

This is the cleanest, most organized, and safest gym I've ever seen. The padding is thick and comfortable, and boulderers can fall from any height and feel safe. The staff is responsive, kind, and inclusive (They even host member parties and BIPOC nights!). The setting is always changing, so a climber never gets bored at Elevation. There are also camps and a fun kids area, plus a top-out boulder and slides, a Moon Board, a cave, a slab wall, an accordion wall, a chaos wall, and many other angles and challenges. Cam M. Gave a pretty spot on review of Elevation so I'm not going to be redundant. The gym is still clean and friendly plus they've recently made some nice upgrades. - They've moved the 12:30PM Saturday yoga to 9:00AM. Now I can make it since it doesn't fall right in the middle of the day. Yoga for climbers is not an easy class but the two instructors are lovely and able to teach to all abilities. The squishy mats on the floor do make balancing poses a bit tricky. Don't beat yourself up if your tree pose is blowing in the wind. They also offer other classes for climbers. Some focus on the mental and physical aspects of climbing while other classes work on strength and flexibility. All classes are clearly listed on the schedule on their website. - Coffee, kombucha, healthy snacks, etc. available. Discounts for members. - The upstairs lounge is now open and it is fabulous. Super chill. You're likely to see someone on a laptop at a table or members of the kids' climbing team working on the various Rubik's cubes scattered about the lounge. - They offer member only events. They just recently held a fun costume party with food, beer, kombucha and climbing contests for free to all members. This place has such a good vibe to it. Just moved to this area, and took my seven year old nephew here to climb. Liked it so much, I joined up. Space: Clean, bright, thick crash mat floors, clean bathrooms, water fountains, space to store your shoes, a "kids climbing area", two rooms with showers, and easy parking. Routes: Rated on a color wheel. They are constantly changing the routes here. From beginner to hardcore climbers found on the walls here. Inclining, declining, overhangs, all sorts of things. Marked really clearly which I like a lot. Gym area: Wow...clean, full of "crossfit" kind of stuff, including the hated assault bike and erg machine. Good place to start off in before ya tackle walls. Staff: Range from incredibly friendly to indifferent. Never encountered any rude staff here. I get "indifferent" when it comes to staff. Sometimes you are just at work to work, and that is cool. I've mostly had really good encounters here though, and felt welcome the first day I signed up. Bonuses: Cheap coffee, you can take classes there on climbing and building endurance, I think there are yoga classes here, it's a NEW AND CLEAN space, never really feels crowded, good open hours, and price is right for a month to month ($65 if not a student.) Oh, almost forgot...you get 20% prices if at Backcountry Gear in Eugene if you show your Elevation gym tag. :D Check it out if you are looking for a bouldering gym! I think the one thing that may turn people off is there isn't any top rope set ups, but it's a BOULDERING gym. It's fun, go go go. read more

Love love love this place! A great place to get in some exercise, friendly staff, and clean facilities. And it's open late which is cool too. I only wish there was a cheaper way to go here. I already spend $30-$40/month for a gym membership and it would be literally double to add this to my rotation. Discount nights/hours, combo gym memberships with other gyms, etc could all make this place more accessible. read more

Went for my first time Bouldering and the staff was extremely friendly and very helpful! The space was so big and spread out so you weren't worried about crowded sections of the walls, and I went on a Saturday which I would imagine would be busier! Definitely will come back :) read more

A perfect addition to Eugene. Everything at Elevation is still shiny and new and exciting. It's a climbing/bouldering gym that doesn't smell like feet, has clean bathrooms and locker rooms, and good gym equipment. There are plenty of routes for all abilities and difficulties that are marked with a color scheme. The color scheme took a little getting used to, but there are signs posted in view of most areas that make it easy to keep them straight. Various areas in the gym are reset weekly to keep each visit interesting. I love that there is one structure that you can top out on and take a small slide down and others with varying degrees of overhang. I am a little bummed a there's no cave though (unless I've missed it?). I haven't taken a class here yet but it's in my to do list of fun evening in the near future! Another great feature is their kids specific room for little ones. Great place for some safe active fun with your toddlers / young kids. To make it better I would love to see some quality snacks and coffees and beverages offered with a comfy place to relax. Elevation, keep up the great work! read more
