This is by far my favorite place to do yoga in Eugene. I've met amazing instructors and students there over the years. Over the last few months I have frequented the classes of Julia, Jennifer, Michelle, Steve, Laura and Brie. They all offer me something unique and desired in my practice. This has come to be a very special place for me. (Though I miss Todd terribly!) One thing I would love to see happen is to have more of a curriculum for their classes. I'm not sure exactly what that would look like but sometimes it feels like I missed instructions along the way despite going to introductory courses. For example, in numerous classes I've heard instructors say things like "if wheel pose is part of your practice go ahead and move into that now" but despite going to intro-intermediate classes for years I've never had wheel instruction in class. i can certainly see how this happens at most studios, especially with more complex poses. But I also know how amazing it feels to have a teacher guide you, for example, into your first really satisfying Warrior Two. I want that with wheel, crow, headstands, etc. So I bring this up not as much a critique of the studio, as this is likely common in most places, but instead as feedback to consider. It is expensive for my grad student salary and I wish the student discount were greater or some other sliding scale agreement were offered but I guess that's often the case for my life these years. I've done cheaper yoga elsewhere in the community and though I can find something wonderful in any yoga practice I feel like the teachers at Eugene Yoga best help me in my spiritual/physical journey. read more

I love this studio and their instructors so much I became a certified yoga teacher through their RYT200 program. It was the best thing I have ever done for myself and adding a new skill to my resume. I have also attended prenatal classes when I was pregnan, sound meditations, workshops and other gatherings they offer to this community. They also let me use the space one night to teach my kids Girl Scout troop some yoga. Wonderful people all around! read more

There is this older lady who claims she is the owner of the place. She is a bit old to do some simple poses such as standing tree. I happened to be the only Asian in her class and I happen to be a yogi after many years' practice so I can do all the simple poses. She became very jealous and defensive. After class, she walked to me and my Caucasian husband and said: we white people are just not that good with stretching and bending because our civilization made us sit on a chair all the time. read more

Love it here! It's tucked into a residential neighborhood in I think an old school. Very inviting and calm/warm atmosphere...maybe too warm ;) , wish they had AC for prenatal yoga summer classes but not a deal breaker. :) read more

I am a long-time yogini and recently relocated to Eugene from Portland, where I had a regular practice with a wonderful teacher. She recommended a friend to me, who teaches at the recently revamped Eugene Yoga (formerly is was the yoga program within the Tamarack Wellness Center). I have attended a handful of classes at Eugene Yoga and I really enjoy them. The atmosphere is really laid back and teachers are really welcoming. A nice diverse cross-section of people attend classes, including more men than I typically saw in Portland. You can try many different styles of yoga, which is really nice, and they have a pleasantly full schedule of classes. Whether you're looking for a gentle restorative practice or invigorating sequences, you can find a class here. Oh, and also the prices for classes (drop-ins and packages) is very good. All of the classes I have attended have been well attended and I really enjoyed them. I think that Eugene Yoga does a nice job of acting both as a yoga studio and as a place for the community to come together and embraces both the history of yoga, but also the Western adaptations that have grown in the US. I look forward to continuing classes there. read more

I love this studio. I feel more calm simply by walking in. It's quiet and peaceful and the floors are warm. I live in Salem and came up four times a month for my teacher training with Sarahjoy Marsh last year. I loved the space and the training so much the drive didn't bother me. The owner Diane is lovely and the other teachers and practitioners are skilled and genuine. You will get exactly what you need here, without the competition or ego or pushy-ness that often exists at other studios. It's just about your physical body here. It's also about the health and state if your mind. This is where yoga is. read more

I LOVE Eugene Yoga. It's my home away from home. The new owner has made some positive changes & offers lots more classes. I am currently in nursing school & have lots of stress. Without yoga there is no way i could make it thru this journey sane. Thanks Eugene Yoga!! read more

Highly recommend! I'm new to Yoga, and a "baby boomer," so I felt a bit intimidated initially, but I am extremely glad I started at Eugene Yoga through an introductory Groupon. I go to the downtown studio, and once I understood parking options, this central location works great. Their options for types of Yoga, and variety of instructors and times are wonderful. Simply drop in. Though older and a "newbie," I felt welcome the very first day. All of the instructors (the four I've experienced) are skilled, encouraging, and educate on mind-body wellness as they lead the class. It is exactly what I was looking for, and the benefits are surpassing my expectations. So far, as a beginner, Yoga Nidra, Gentle Yoga and Hatha are my best fit... though I feel Flow Yoga is a good challenge for beginners like me. Give Eugene Yoga a try! read more

Wonderful teachers. Safe and welcoming during pandemic times. Limited in person plus virtual classes. Even a library of classes to view. Best in town. read more

I tried to like this studio. It was easily accessible. I tried different times and different teachers. I was frustrated with the lack of atmosphere and spirituality I have come to associate with a comfortable studio. The building itself is institutional, it is a converted school. Some attempt was made with some strings of lights in the individual rooms. It is always to cold for me. I needed to wear layers so was always either taking something off or putting it on which was disruptive. The classes are felt more like exercise classes - a very western mix of stretching, pilates, and aerobics - than yoga. I never left the studio with that deep sense of meditative relaxation I associate with my practice. I quit attending altogether when the instructor started using thera bands(?) and counting eight repetitions on each side. I haven't returned and forfeit the balance of my punch card. read more

I've sampled pretty much all the yoga studios in town, and this is definitely one of my favorites. The offerings at Eugene Yoga are about as diverse as the multitude of instructors that teach there. Classes span various yogic lineages as well as different levels for the beginner all the way to the advanced. Anybody interested in yoga should be able to find a class that resonates with them since they offer so many classes (2 studios with classes almost all day every day), and such a diversity of styles/teachers/intensities. I really appreciate how most of the teachers seem to emphasize yoga as a holistic way of living, rather than just a way to get in shape (like some other studios in town that seem to be more about Yoga Boot Camp/Yogaerobics). Although I do enjoy a physically challenging class, it is the sense of peace and clarity that I gain from my practice that keeps me coming back to a particular class. Although I haven't sampled all the classes yet, my favorite instructor so far is Kristen. She will kick your butt (in the best way possible), and make your insides shine with happy, squeaky goodness. The studio spaces are pleasant, and clean, with plenty of natural light. The only downside is that the studio seems far away if you don't live in the South Hills. That's relative, of course (nowhere in Eugene is really all that difficult to get to). It's just not within biking distance for me, so that makes if far. read more

I would agree with Darrin H. that the customer service side of this studio could be greatly improved. I too found the studio to be extremely unaccommodating. I had purchased a pass that unfortunately expired before I could take more classes. Life happens, and my work schedules conflicted with class times at the studio. Eugene Yoga claims that, "It is our intention that you feel comfortable, respected, and appreciated." However, I didn't feel like they were able to do this for me. As far as the class, I found the teacher to be helpful, encouraging, and supportive. I enjoyed my time in the class and thought the quality of the class was as good as my favorite yoga studio in NYC. If you're considering taking classes here, go for it! Just be wary if you purchase a pass. Know that most likely the studio will be very strict and unwilling to make any adjustments. read more

Tranquil setting, beautiful studio rooms, talented instructors. Arriving at Eugene Yoga feels like a mini daily getaway from life and I leave feeling refreshed and thoroughly worked-out as well. Any of the instructors are great but I highly recommend attending an Arielle class! read more

I was visiting from out of town and stumbled across their studio at their downtown spot. Took a vinyasa class and as an advanced yogi it definitely was up to par. The studio is very nice and people were so friendly. They have a great deal for first-timers, a variety of classes to take, and $6 classes sometimes. read more

I was in the Eugene area for two weeks and went to Eugene Yoga almost every day with their new student special. I really enjoyed my time there... I took at least a dozen classes, all of which were worthwhile. The instructors were lovely and I felt welcome in each and every class. Highly recommended! read more

I've wanted to try a yoga class for years now, but finally decided to try a $5 class a couple of weeks ago. Being older and a bit overweight, I was nervous about how I might be looked at, and worried that I might not be able to effectively participate. My fears were calmed almost immediately. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the instructor, Marynne, was wonderful, helping me when I did a pose wrong without making me feel inadequate, and helping me modify poses as necessary. I bought the introductory one month pass and have been to several classes in both locations, and have loved them all. I will be signing up for a monthly membership once the pass expires. My only complaint is the gentle yoga classes are mostly only offered mid morning or early afternoon, which does not work well with my 9-5 work schedule. read more

While I have only been to a few of the instructors classes, I am very pleased with the quality of instruction and cleanliness of the studio. The environment is not intimidating in the least. One downside is storage space for your items when cold weather warrants bulkier outerwear. My recommendation would be try all of the classes and instructors- it looks like a diverse group. read more

Not only are the classes over priced, but now you have to pay a $1 to rent a yoga mat. The student discount is also abysmal. It's a quality experience for those who can afford to keep up with it, I'm sure. read more

Nice facility, comfortable setting, and teacher was solid. I'd recommend if in Eugene.

I contributed a second review for this studio and it is no longer listed. I'm not sure who is to blame. I'll try this once again. Eugene Yoga, I'm not interested in a private conversation with you. The changes that I think need to happen are not just of interest to me but for so many others who cannot afford your studio. I think you should consider whether your commitment is to enlightenment or money. If it's the former then find a way to help low income students attend your studio. As of now you haven't taken those efforts. I can't even afford your classes much less your merchandise shop or raw juice bar. Though I am not interested in a private conversation with you, I am willing to discuss matters here so that others may benefit as well. read more

I can't say enough good things about Eugene Yoga! The instructors are attentive and knowledgeable, and the class schedule is great. They have a variety of morning, day, evening, and weekend classes so there's something for everyone. I have been practicing Yoga at Eugene Yoga since Jan.11. I attended several yoga classes, Acrobatic yoga and a Nia class every week. I have also attended a couple of great workshops! The teachers are fantastic, the environment is very comfortable and the schedule offers a wide variety of class times. I currently attend classes at 6:45 am as well as evening and weekend classes. I am recently new to yoga and every class and every teacher I have encountered there have made me feel comfortable and safe in developing my practice. My daughter and several of my friends have started to attend classes as well. I highly recommend Eugene Yoga to anyone who wants fantastic yoga, nia, zumba, salsa or any of the other fun classes they offer, with great people! read more

I come from the Bay Area, where the standard for yoga studios is quite high. I've checked out several yoga studios in town, and found that Eugene Yoga is the best choice for me in terms of breadth of yoga styles, number of classes and workshops offered, teacher knowledge base, and friendly staff. I love Tom's classes, and lately have been enjoying Jennifer Jameison's classes. I also appreciate the little touches the studio provides -- tea for cozying up before or after class, movie nights, and special deals (like the Vanilla Jill's discount over the summer.) read more
