I took my 2002 LB7 Duramax in here for what I thought was a blown head gasket on my stock motor as I was losing coolant, I even asked if It was better to put a re-maned motor in instead of doing all this work. I was assured by the staff that this wasn't the case and all I needed was Fuel Injectors and a couple of thermostats... $7200 and a week later I get my truck back. I drive 200 miles down the road and my low coolant light comes on... I take it back into the strictly diesel who keeps it for a couple days tells me nothing is wrong, tops off the coolant and sends me down the road... 200 more miles down the road my coolant light comes on again. I take it back in... the service advisor tells me it's all in my head and I shouldn't worry about such a trivial coolant loss and it was just a "bubble" in the coolant system... again they have my truck for a few days... I get it back... 150 miles down the road guess what? coolant light comes back on. By this time I am absolutely furious and write a horrible review online to get them to do something about my truck. They say they will take it if I take the review down... I do and they keep it for a few more days, tell me that they went in and resealed the injector cups, and that I probably have cracked heads and want $12,000 more to fix it or now I could put in a new motor. I asked about what would happen to the $7200 they recommended I throw into the other motor and they said they would credit me $1600 towards the new motor... WHAT? I could have bought a brand new motor and installed it for almost what they charged for the original service... The next morning, I go to start my truck to head to work and it's hydrolocked. I have a different mechanic work on it because Strictly Diesel is absolutely inept and guess what it ends up being? head gaskets... what I originally told them to change but they told me it wasn't needed. This shop is an absolute nightmare to work with and I will never recommend them for anything as simple as an oil change. They really dropped the ball on my truck and then wouldn't own up to it. Gary, the owner just tries to fight you instead of owning the shops mistakes...I feel like they stole $7200 from me. WORST SHOP IN TOWN. read more

A hungry squirrel had lunch in the engine compartment of my F450 causing a lot of damage to the wiring harness. Others quoted the repair between $3000 - $5000. The repair at Strictly Diesel cost $600. These guys are diesel rock stars. read more

Extremely horrible front desk service, terrible technicians, clueless owner, and a very money hungry shop. I made an appointment to bring my truck in and had to stand at the front desk for more than ten minutes before someone would even acknowledge me. Multiple technicians walked past as well as the girls that were supposed to be working the front area, after someone had waked past three times they finally asked if I had been helped. Off to a bad start but I gave them the benefit of the doubt and had a full inspection done on my truck to see any potential problems and ask about upgrades. I decided to only have fluids changes as the price they quoted me on exhaust parts was $150 over the cost to order the parts online. I has asked them to look at the rear air bags on my truck as part of the inspection (which happens to be out of their expertise, so don't come to them for any air suspension work) and right next to the air bag was a noticeably broken exhaust hanger that they neglected to see, when I picked the truck up and did a walk around I saw the hanger and asked if they had anything to secure it for my drive home and the owner of the shop came back with a wire clothes hanger! Of all of the things that a so called 'professional' repair shop should have this is what you get at Strictly Diesel. Due to my disabilities I am unable to crawl under my truck so my wife grabbed the hanger and bent it to secure the exhaust while again the owner stood there and watched as a 115lb woman had to do the work that he should have had a technician come outside and perform. They called later in the week to ask how my service was and I explained how I felt about their service and they asked me to come in so they could make it right, not a chance Strictly Diesel! I will never again risk my vehicle and bring my business to you nor will I recommend you to anyone that I encounter. This is a testimony to how they do things at Strictly Diesel and I strongly recommend that anyone looking for Diesel Repair look elsewhere off the 17 in Phoenix. read more

I've been wanting to write a review for a while now, but have been busy on the road so here it is. I had a pretty complex problem with my truck back in June, Garry and his staff worked with me to provide sound advice and options to come up with a proper solution. As well I was tight for time, everyone at the shop worked extra hard to meet the deadline to get us back on the road again. As I'm travelling full time and have been in many diesel shops from the east coast to the west coast, Strictly Diesel definitely stands out as one of the best I've been to. I especially liked how they would take me into the back so I could talk to the tech in person and actually have a visual of the problem we were discussing. As well, when I had questions about my truck and emailed those questions in, they were happy to reply with answers or options. I recently had my 2000 F250 7.3L in for service. Got a safety inspection, changed the oil but also got a recommendation for a new air filter assembly to improve my fuel economy. I'm scheduled to do that next! Service, turn around and diesel knowledge were impressive! Good honest people - won't take my truck anywhere else! read more

Very unhappy. They told me I had a leaking hose but also needed $4500.00 In fixes as well on a 2006 ford diesel . but the truck never leaked, well I said fix it, because Maybe I did have a leak . Drove it home and the truck leaked everywhere. which they said they only fixed the hose and now the whole compartment leaked another $600.00 dollars in repairs. So I said you mean to tell me that on my drive home from your place I got another leak out of nowhere and you want to charge me another $600.00 dollars. I was informed by my dealer that Strictly Diesel was a good choice for non warranty work a couple years ago. I took my vehicle into them to check on a few items including a FICM. After 3 days they informed me that I had 2 weak injectors and 2 that were about to get weak. So I let them change them along with the ficm. This should have taken a couple more days. It in fact took them 2 weeks to return my vehicle. On a trip to California I broke down on the way home. On the return I was passing the 12000 mile warranty period. In fact it was 12,040 miles from the repair. As they had replaced 4 injectors I again took my truck to them for repair. After a week and a half they still had not even looked at the engine. They claimed that the dealer would not pay for the repair and I had to beg them to find out what was wrong with it. A week later they finally tore open the top end to find that I had lost 5 injectors. 4 of them are the ones they replaced 12,040 mils earlier!!! After being coerced into changing all of the injectors, I received another $5000 invoice. I questioned the labor portion knowing that manufacturers refund labor along with failed parts. I spent 6 years at the Napa warehouse dealing with them all the time. I was chastised by the counter help when I asked and was told they did not have to warranty the 4 injectors but were being nice. In all it took 3 and a half weeks to get my truck back. I have not been back since and let everyone I meet know what kind of service they offer. read more

Just picked up my truck from the crew at Strictly Diesel. Need to give a shout out to Gary over there. He has been a big help. Had quite a bit of work done on the truck. While they were in there doing some upgrades they advised on some other maintenance items that needed to be addressed. Price was very fair, communication was top notch, the shop was awesome and the work was clean and exactly as requested. Probably the first shop that I can't wait to spend more money at. I used to go in and get parts, but I am not anymore. I have grown tired of the employee's reluctant acceptance to talk to the customers. The employees should know (and manager/owner should stress this to the employees) that ultimately the customers are the ones who keep the doors open and pay their paychecks. While customers are getting their trucks fixed or buying parts, they want to talk diesel trucks, that is the way it is and obviously Strictly Diesel has grown tired of their customers. They have started to put a buffer between their customers and themselves by making us customers get help from their female employees. I like female employees as much as anyone, but like I said, diesel owners want to talk diesel and eventually someone from the back (office or shop) has to come up front (and is irritated he has to) to help anyhow. I have never had work performed on my truck, but my friends have. They all said the work was top notch and fair prices, just that you had to put up with their arrogance and poor customer service. You ever heard that saying "the customer is always right"? Well, not at Strictly Diesel, as you can see by their responses to poor customer reviews. They respond by saying they are right and the customer is wrong. read more

Stay clear of this shop! They are over priced and dishonest. They replaced all the injectors in my truck and went through the entire truck and replaced some other things like a bearing in the rear end, which wasn't adjusted correctly and I had to bring it back for a second adjustment which also was not done correctly. After my frustration and all the money over 5000.00 I spent with them...they changed their tone. Went from friendly and we will take care of you to...you can never bring your truck back to our shop. Hmmmmm....how does that work if I paid for service and parts that are warrantied through them. I am a female by they way and also believe this is partly why they treated me like shit after they got the money out of me for the repair. I had one bad injector but they talked me into replacing all of them because they said it was such a chore to get in there to replace the others if they should go bad. I since learned from other diesel shops ....that's complete bullshit. Even though I have been banned from ever taking my truck there...and I unsubscribed from their mailing list and sent two emails asking them to stop sending me their advertisements because I was banned from going there (who the hell has ever heard of that) they keep sending them. Sent another email in response to one I got this am and wow...I got yet another defensive, snotty and threatening response from Dennis. They have horrible customer service...after you decide to go with them....not before...they are all sweet and nice to get your business but then they could careless what happens to you or the work they did. STAY CLEAR AWAY FROM THESE JERKS....THERE ARE LOTS OF DIESEL SHOPS OUT THERE WHO CARE AND WILL WARRANTY THEIR WORK...THESE GUYS WONT. I purchased a Fass fuel system from Strictly Diesel months ago for roughly $600 because my stock lift pump was not running properly and am having problems regarding that product because I was not sold the proper, additional accessories that should have been required to make this work (per the directions). It was also suggested that I purchase a new Liberty fuel canister/module for $165 to prevent my truck from running out of fuel at 1/4 tank so I did only later to find out that it was not necessary. I have spoken with multiple people there about this including the co owner and was told that there might be something they could do regarding the Liberty module purchase if I still had the old stock canister but I don't. Not many of their customers with this fuel system have fuel pressure gauges so they are unaware of the fuel slosh or losing prime issue that exists at 1/4 tank and the Liberty module does nothing to prevent this! I'm upset with them because I was sold a $165 part that was not required. I had little knowledge about this set up prior to coming to them and trusted them and their experience and I have been let down. If you go to them for any aftermarket accessory be sure to do all the research yourself and only use them for a parts vendor (like an AutoZone). read more
