Comparing my experience with previous reviews, I didn't have any issues with the staff or service, just the price . . . then again, it is a diesel truck, and I was told to expect anything but cheap repairs. As for the trouble, diagnosis, repair and overall situation of my vehicle. I had suspected the turbo blew on my 160K mile, 2011 F250 some 250 mile back. The wife was frantically (not really frantic, but I needed a word) searching for a repair shop somewhere in Phoenix . . . if we make it from the Churaico Summit on-ramp when . . . BANG ! ! !, I look down and there is no boost pressure indicating on the dash. "You might as well find us a rental nearby the repair place, as well", I say. She found us a rental place just two blocks away. Anticipating a costly and lengthy turbo charger replacement we proceeded to get ourselves a rental to compete our road trip to Corpus Cristi, Texas by way of Denver, Colorado. We pull up to SD and I speak with the service writer Jonathan, as he quickly begins surveying my vehicle. Jonathan expressed his concern for us 'already getting a rental because' . . . , as he reaches under the hood, 'these are usually' . . . "Yep! Right there". "Because I could've got you outta here in an hour and a half". Long story short, we kept the rental and Jonathan, at first, reluctantly agreed to store the vehicle for two weeks while we roadtrip in a comfortable rental without breakdown worries again. I did agree to an additional ~$350 service diagnostic to kinda help with keeping my truck for those two weeks. Upon return from our trip, I was swiftly settled with my writer and I asked about obtaining different decals I see they had on display. The writer (sorry, didn't get his name) showed me some stuff they had in their showroom and gave me a t-shirt of my choice, just not all sizes and colors. Took my truck in to get looked at for the same issue that was fixed previously by SD, only to be diagnosed battery terminals and battery cables, a $1,400 price tag. A service I refused the first time as well, they charged me $195 for the diagnosis, they didn't look further into the matter, to add insult to injury they brought out the truck to me making a horrendous noise that it wasn't making before, I told the service director that my truck wasn't making that sound when I brought it in. He took it back into the bay 5 minutes later they bring it back out now without the noise and said it was the battery cables hitting the fan. Now my cables have a gouge in the cable which it didn't have before. Did he offer to replace the cable? No. Service with a smile. If by device you mean running your debit card for nothing. read more

I had read good reviews about this business so I decided to take my 2007 Dodge Ram in May of 2022 to get worked on the check engine light turning on. This has been nothing but a headache. Now, after spending almost 10k on repairs the issue continues . I was 100 miles outside of Phoenix yesterday morning when the check engine light turned on AGAIN! My truck is back in the same shop for a third time with the same issue . They still can't fix it but I'm sure they will try to ask for more money. I don't recommend this place to anyone!!! All I can say without writing a book is to avoid this establishment. My truck is in worse shape then when I took it in. How do you go in for a slight oil drip and come out with a bigger oil leak and the death wobble that almost caused a major incident. yelp is not letting me reply directly to your response, so here is my response. you said I no-showed my appointment and randomly brought the truck in. not true. I called strictly diesel and spoke to Steve Solis on the 26th of June and scheduled to bring the truck in on September 3rd at 3:30, which was exactly when I showed up. 30 minutes after I dropped the truck off and made clear no diagnosis was to be made, I get a call saying "the truck will be good for nothing in about 50 miles" (I later find out its the DEF sensor saying limited to speed in 50 miles) and that you needed to further diagnose the truck before putting the fuel tank on. I mentioned when I dropped the truck off that the truck was empty on DEF and there was a def box in the bed that could be put in, I was aware of the speed limiting due to lack of DEF but that's certainly not why I brought the truck in. you would think as a mechanic you wouldn't think a truck being empty on def makes it "good for nothing"- its just needs DEF, DUH! and the def calibration you made is irrelevant being that I said not to diagnose or fix anything on the truck-customers orders regardless of your own biased concern of mechanic wellbeing of the truck. when you called, you failed to explain why the truck would be "good for nothing" in 50 miles, and simply tried to scare a seemingly uneducated girl into giving you business. the following day I picked up the truck unannounced due to fear of the wellbeing of the truck had I warned you I was going to pick it up. when I did pick it up, you were in the middle of diagnosing it, as I said clearly not to regardless of mechanical concerns, and was charged I believe $300 for work I made clear not to. these were all conversations made with Steve Solis. but its okay, because now I know to stay away from strictly diesel. also, I hope you find a better way to spend your time than publicly writing full page responses as to why all of your 1-star reviewers, paying customers, are wrong. fantastic customer service! read more

I took my truck into Strickly Diesel complaining of an oil leak. The quote to fix it was $5,311.12. This included: resealing the vacuum pump ($743.64), resealing the front timing cover and replacing the engine oil pan gasket ($3278.57) and replacing the engine side cover gaskets (978.53), shop supplies ($224.42) and taxes ($85.96). Resealing the vacuum pump which they did once and should have been covered by warranty if you believe their warranty statement. I pointed that out but was told there was no warranty work. I took the truck to Cummins to get a second option. They told me there was no oil leak but that someone had routed the blow by from the catch can with a hose into the truck's frame rail and that is where the oil was coming from. It was Strickly Diesel who did that work. I told a friend what happened and he told me they were just looking for work. They will not get any of mine again. read more

Brought our truck in to get looked at to see if/what they recommend should be done. They told us to bring it in and they would look at it in a few days. They had it for 4 days and did not look at it. They did not even call to communicate with us that they still haven't had the chance to look at it. We needed the vehicle so we had to drive 40+ min to go pick it up then drop it off next week for them to "hopefully" get to it...communication is very important. If you can't for sure get a service done then don't tel the customer to bring it there until you have time to work on / look at it.... read more

Outstanding business and outstanding people. I have had two major issues resolved on my 2000 Ram with Strictly Diesel and each time the work done is flawless. I'm saddened by the BULLSHIT reviews on Yelp regarding asshats wanting work done for cheap but I can assure you that this is a quality shop with professionals manning every facet of the operation. Most recent stop we had a new radiator installed and fog lights. Front end was rebuilt and Gary kindly painted my valve cover Cummins Red. This is the worst customer service that I have experienced in years. In the Marine Corps we would simply black list this shop. I went to get a tune from thier online store for my truck. I told the "customer representative " my concerns I have had with other tuners. The Rep proceeded to suggest he is not competitive and other people tune better than they do, he does not want the challenge. Imstead of leaving it at thay, the Rep proceeded to tell me what I should do with my money, as if he owned my suggestions and my vehicles. His suggestions where abrasive, disrespectful and hilarious. After a few rude emails I decided to stop talking to them. Quick Tricks, TSD and Inovation Diesel have better customer service and want a true challenge. I went in and got a quote of $399 for 4hrs labor to install a programmer on my cummins and they told me I needed to pay an extra $25 for shop supplies, and that I would need 2 extra not included sensors to make everything work. It was an Edge Juice with Attitude CTS display. I found unit for $100 cheaper online and they wouldn't install mine; only do the work if they provided the unit. Not sure if they are really a online supplier of aftermarket parts and not really a storefront shop, maybe thats where I went wrong. They acted like they didn't even want to do they work. Maybe that's why they gave me such ridiculously high numbers. I honestly feel they were taking advantage of someone like me that only has the computer and magazine sized education on this stuff and would't have known any better if they hadn't really installed them. Glad I shopped around a little............... Went to Pro Diesel 11441 N 19th Ave 602-870-8413 they actually seemed to care about my needs and questions-nice. They said my Tuner comes with needed sensors and that they would do the install for $150 out the door!! They needed to order the unit (so did the other bums) and we're even honest enough to tell me that I could order the unit online and avoid sales tax, and of course I could provide the tuner and they would install it!! Thats how you run a Business!I saved $567 on the un needed sensors and inflated labor rate/time. Not to mention the $100 plus sales tax that I saved on getting the tuner myself! Thats my 2 cents on Strictly Diesel. Shop around you will be glad you did. read more

We got our hands on a Yukon Denali and were having AC issues from day one. The warranty company that was recommended to us by the dealership was less than honorable and wouldn't pay for several things that were supposed to be covered outside of our deductible. Strictly Diesel was recommended to us after a frustrating bout with a greedy GM dealer. It started off good with these folks and quickly turned sour, however, Brent calmed me down and let me know that this particular warranty company was known for there shady activity and took over dealing with them for us. Even after I , regrettably, had gotten nasty with him. He handled the situation with grace and got our AC fixed and even got an unknown radiator issue fixed as well for us. Stictly Diesel was a premium diesel engine repair facility. Boy was I wrong. We spent 16,600.00 dollars for a blown motor 10,000 miles after their so called service. I took my 2006 Dodge RAM 2500 diesel truck in for repairs It had 360,000 miles and was burning oil. I told Jackie the counter rep. when I first walked in the door that my wife and I were planning on a trip with our new travel trailer to New York to Alaska and down the California coast and back to Arizona. I told her my concerns of the motor burning oil that I felt I needed a new engine. She told me that her shop tech would take a look at the engine and tell me what was wrong so I agreed. What a professional place they don't just take my word for it. They supposedly do some investigations and make sure that their customers are getting what they are asking for. (B.S.) The techs did several test including compression test and all the additional test that they do to determine what was wrong with my engine. They gave me a complete written estimate list with all the work on the estimate adding up to $16,600 and I should have an engine that would last at least another 300,000 miles. Wow was I excited. My baby was going to be new again. Well nothing was further from the truth. First warning. With our 30 foot trailer in tow we burnt 2 quarts of oil just going to Flagstaff. 500 miles later my front drive shaft explodes. (This was on the estimate list for service). Etc etc etc. We did make it threw most of our vacation we only had time to tour the western states. With less than 10,000 miles on our $16,600.00 engine. It has blown up. #6 piston failed. My new mechanic has since sourced a new engine and we'll have it replaced and installed for less than $18,000. My question is what did strictly diesel do for me? When I asked the general manager this question he told me they did exactly what was estimated that I never said the engine was burning oil, Jackie never said that my engine was a 1,000,000 mile motor and did not remember my phone call from Flagstaff. However after 24 hours of consideration Strictly diesel would only charge me another $6,000 to transfer all my good old parts onto my new long block which I got at almost cost. $10,000 I am sure Strictly diesel would have paid the same for the long block. So 16,000.00 and to be fair I would budget another 2 k for the unknowns. 18k to 19k for a brand new motor that would make my truck last another 360 thousand miles. So $16,600 for a 10,000 miles motor or 18k for a 360,000 mile motor. Strictly diesel did not repair all in the estimate and didn't even consider what my concerns where when I walked in the door. I will never go back to strictly Diesel and would not recommend them to my worst enemy. Hi Dennis, If you say I only spent 9000.00 dollars the work done why do I have 16,600.00 in receipts. We ordered a dipstick tube adapter for a 7.3L Powerstroke which worked perfectly. The installation instructions are thorough and answer all questions that might arise. This is a phenomenal product which reduced the downtime on the truck and saved our customer a considerable amount of money in labor as the oil pan does not require removal for installation. Good support, phone calls were returned as promised, and nice folks in general to talk to. Looks like following a solid business plan is paying off for you! read more

I was looking for a good shop to work on my diesel that wasn't a dealership. I went to strictly diesel, I made a mistake, I don't believe they were working for my repeat or referral business. My first quote was 2200$ and the job would take a day. I was called at end of day to tell me they needed the truck another day and didn't add fluids to bill and it would be a few hundred dollars more. I had no problem with that. My issue started the next day when I was told they broke some exhaust manifold bolts and I would need to pay them $621.76 dollars more for them to fix what they broke. Now I'm not happy at all. they acted like it was my problem not theirs. My truck was being held hostage so I reluctantly agreed to pay for their mistake. I was told truck would be done at the end of day, I live an hour away from their shop so I got a ride and get there and was told they needed it another day. No call saying that after I wasted 2 more hours of my time and the time of the person who was nice enough to give me a ride. I also missed a day of work. In conclusion the work that was done on the truck was very good but wasn't a good experience at all. They should have never charged me for the exhaust manifold bolts that's where they went over the line. I will not be back. read more

Well after our phone convo of you blowing smoke up my butt. Still came to the same conclusion. You guys are rip offs. 1. You use ati witch means you have a 20% bump on labor so for every 1 hour book rate the customer is charged 1.20 hours 2. Its not parts labor and labor to make sure we get the job right.... 3. Every dirty trick i have seen shops use over the last 20 years are in practice at your shop. 4. Every one that i know that have used you has said nothing but negitive about there whole experience. 5. So the bad review i gave ya you earned 100%. 6. I cant belive you actually posted a follow up on yelp. With your history of your responses with me and every other unhappy customer if i were the owner the first thing i would do to start fixing that shop is fire you!!! 7. I have been using this shop for ALL of my diesel repairs for 10 years on 2 different trucks. I have had other shops, including factory dealerships, work on my truck with less than optimal results (here and in multiple other states). They either didn't diagnose the problem correctly, or they didn't do the repair correctly (usually then followed by excuses). Strictly Diesel has always diagnosed and completed the repair work correctly without excuses. Most of the repairs on these trucks are quite expensive. That being said, you only want to pay for the repairs once. In my opinion, there is not a better diesel repair shop in state. I have gotten to know the staff over the years, especially Gary and Nate, and they are extremely dedicated and passionate about what they do. I will continue to use this shop as long as I own a diesel. read more

We have a very heavy toy hauler that we pull with it and have never had a problem because this shop fixed all the problems with that motor. We also have a 15 F250, and this will be the only shop to touch that truck as well. Gary, Nate and the rest of the guys and gals there are awesome to work with. Go somewhere else Strictly doesn't stand behind their work!! Had my 2006 F250 6.0 overhauled, and within 18-months and 24,000 miles the head gasket showed signs of leaking. Took truck to Bullet Proof Diesel and they confirmed Strictly used Black Onyx head gasket which are know to have failure issues. Strictly refused to help and wanted to charge me another $7000 to rebuild the motor again. They weren't even willing to give a repeat customer a break, and help me out with the costs at all. Took truck to Pro Diesel (they previously used Black Onyx gasket and were aware of the problem and warranty everyone of their trucks that came back even after a year) and they overhauled the motor for almost half the price Strictly wanted. The guys at Pro Diesel know their stuff and have excellent customer service, something Strictly has clearly lost sight of!!! read more

Ok, So I have never had them work on my diesel truck, but they offer great parts. Parts for my truck that I cannot get anywhere else. The prices are great and I assume if they are involved in making parts, they would be able to install them if I did not feel up to the task.
