So I started bringing my car there for annual maintenance and was quite satisfied. A few months ago during my annual maintenance they told me I needed new bushings and control arms that would be almost $7000. To say I was shocked was an understatement. A friend recommended I take my car to Tony's Auto Service Center, located at 5602 E Thomas Rd, which I did and asked they check out the bushings and control arms. They called me several hours later to say I DID NOT need new bushings and control arms. They said that a vehicle with 54K miles on it is no where near requiring this repair. They said they don't see vehicles requiring this repair until after at least 100K miles, especially Toyotas. In addition, after checking Car Fax, to which apparently mechanics report every car repair they perform, they noted that at 30K miles they performed a maintenance type repair that isn't required until 50K miles. As a retired single woman I feel like they took advantage of me by lying about what had to be done on my car. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. I cannot begin to tell you how upset I am. DO take your car to Tony's Auto Service Center, even though it may be far from where you live. Call 480-945-7788 and ask for Mike or Scott and tell them Bob's friend Cindy referred you. You will not be disappointed.

Did not want to take it back and cause another month on top of the two months they had it at their shop. Turns out there was crystal clear water inside my electrical connection that my wiring harness was plugged into. I sopped up the water and fixed it myself. Also had the ac replaced but it doesn't work. Never did. They said it was my fault it was leaking because of some prior damage to the front end. Why even replace it if they knew it wouldn't work? I don't recommend them and it's true they think they are hot poop in this industry and it's true they are hot poop.

The wife was frantically (not really frantic, but I needed a word) searching for a repair shop somewhere in Phoenix . . . if we make it from the Churaico Summit on-ramp when . . . BANG ! ! !, I look down and there is no boost pressure indicating on the dash. "You might as well find us a rental nearby the repair place, as well", I say. She found us a rental place just two blocks away. Anticipating a costly and lengthy turbo charger replacement we proceeded to get ourselves a rental to compete our road trip to Corpus Cristi, Texas by way of Denver, Colorado. We pull up to SD and I speak with the service writer Jonathan, as he quickly begins surveying my vehicle. Jonathan expressed his concern for us 'already getting a rental because' . . . , as he reaches under the hood, 'these are usually' . . . "Yep! Right there". "Because I could've got you outta here in an hour and a half". Long story short, we kept the rental and Jonathan, at first, reluctantly agreed to store the vehicle for two weeks while we roadtrip in a comfortable rental without breakdown worries again. I did agree to an additional ~$350 service diagnostic to kinda help with keeping my truck for those two weeks. Upon return from our trip, I was swiftly settled with my writer and I asked about obtaining different decals I see they had on display. The writer (sorry, didn't get his name) showed me some stuff they had in their showroom and gave me a t-shirt of my choice, just not all sizes and colors. Elston Auto Care - Review 8736 W Thunderbird Rd Suite 3,…read morePeoria, AZ 85381 I brought my 2017 Ford Fiesta ST to Elston Auto Care on 7/30/25 for a clutch replacement. The car was towed in because the clutch had failed -- but the engine ran fine before this work. Over the next two weeks, the shop performed multiple services, including timing belt, crankshaft rear seal, flywheel, clutch slave cylinder, valve cover gaskets, exhaust bolts, and an oil change. The bill came to $5,696.93, which I paid in full. Problems began immediately: * I was promised about a 1-week turnaround; it took nearly 2 weeks, with multiple upsell attempts for parts I didn't request. * On 8/11/25, I picked the car up at 130,616 miles. The shop only performed a misfire monitor neutral reset -- no test drive -- before releasing it to me. * Less than 3 hours and 30 miles later, the car died mid-drive, leaving me stranded for 3.5-4 hours. * The next day, instead of taking the car in right away, the owner had me diagnose it over the phone and buy/replace a crankshaft sensor myself -- which didn't fix the problem. * The shop then towed the car back and over several days changed their diagnosis: first crank sensor, then wiring harness, then finally claiming "debris" damaged the crank pulley/reluctor wheel. This is a part they removed and reinstalled during my repair, but they refused to cover it under warranty. * When I asked for a resolution, discount, or warranty consideration, I was fired as a customer and told to pick up my still-non-running car. Other issues: * Radiator clip broken during service (I have proof; they refused to replace it). * Engine stud cover missing upon pickup -- replaced with an incorrect part from around the shop. * Invoices show they charged for labor-intensive work but failed to perform a final road test before release. * Their final invoice states there is "no warranty" and accuses me of dishonesty -- despite the breakdown occurring within hours of their work. Why this matters: A vehicle that breaks down within 30 miles of pickup after a major repair -- without a proper test drive -- should raise serious concerns about workmanship and quality control. Instead of standing behind their work, Elston Auto Care denied responsibility, shifted blame, and terminated me as a customer. I'm out nearly $5,700, have been without a working vehicle, and now face additional repair costs to fix problems that did not exist before their work. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Elston Auto Care for major repairs.

I am extremely hesitant to bring my car to a mechanic shop normally because my dad typically fixes my cars for me. I wanted to give him a break so that is what lead me here. A little over a year ago I brought my car in for a horrible noise it was making. They diagnosed it and over $1,000 later I got the call my car was fixed and ready. As I was driving away, the same very glaring and obvious noise happened even before I left the parking lot. I called and let them know it was still making the noise so they had me bring it back the next day. I went on a drive with one of the mechanics so I could make sure they knew what noise I was talking about. They kept my car, put some oil/lubricant on a few things, and said good to go. Again, my car made the noise as I drove out of the parking lot. I called again to tell them it was still making the noise and I was told, "I don't know what to tell you, your car is old and we could spend years looking for what is causing the noise." And that was it. No offer to try to figure it out and I've now spent the money I barely could afford as a single mom and my car is not fixed. And I don't have the additional funds at the time to take it elsewhere because I spent it with them. Here I am, over a year later and the car is still making the noise because I'm nervous about trying at another mechanic. My friend over the past year has had two very similar experiences where the initial issue was not fixed at first and she has had to go back. She had to pay for the non-fixes and again for the going back to actually get it fixed. I have no doubt the work they did on my car was done properly, however it was not the right work or the fix for my issue. The employee even said he thought what they replaced looked like it had already been replaced before (like it was not the original part). I feel like that should have raised a flag that maybe it wasn't the part that needed replacing. I would use caution when considering going here.

On the customer experience side, it's been hot and cold for me. Some folks here are extremely helpful, while others seem to have thinly veiled contempt for the customers. I don't understand why businesses operate that way, and I'm not going to name anyone, but I abhor inconsistent experience when calling and walking into a place. On the services side of things, not to be too reductionist, but it comes down to cost and warranty, and I found this shop not measuring up to the competition, even chain outfits. I love to support independent and small companies but when the price is nearly triple the nearest chain shop and comes with less than half the warranty, it gives me pause. I'm looking to support the little guy, but not to get fleeced. Parts markup here is ridiculous even by modern shop standards. Heck, even compared to other independent shops and dealerships, it's over the top. They're very proud of the parts when they sell them to you, but the short warranty tells me they're either installing junk or haven't got faith in the quality of their labor. Not sure which is worse. Do yourself a huge favor and shop around before you commit to this place. You will be floored by how much of a difference in price and warranty coverage you get elsewhere. As I said, the value proposition just doesn't add up for me. If you point out the sky high prices, expect a dose of attitude from the counter guys. When a shop tells you, "I don't care if you buy it from me or not," it tells you everything you need to know. Sorry but this place is a hard pass for me. I did business here a few times but knowing what I do now, I won't return again. It's just not a good value, and they can't handle criticism about that.

I had a mobile car repair company come to my house, and they failed miserably helping me identify any issues with my car (they said it was my battery which was not true at all). I called into Leroy's desperate for help since I felt unsafe driving my car, and I drive often for work. Leroy's was able to take me immediately same day, and I let them keep my car for the week to test everything they needed to. Within 24 hours they had run several tests and identified the most likely concerns causing my problems. Just one day later, they had diagnosed the issues, sent me a quote for the work, and confirmed next steps. I really want to applaud their communication - I've never had such great communication from any service I've gotten, and that is super important to me. They texted me often with updates and called me to get more information when needed. They were genuine and explained everything well, which I appreciated not being car- savvy myself. The repairs were extremely affordable and resolved all the problems. I will be going here for all future car problems, and recommending to my entire family!
