I personally like the dirty pistachio latte, but I wish there was more of a pistachio flavor but I a little underwhelmed with the lox bagel. The bagel was not properly toasted so it was still soft and it was not as flavorful. However, I really like the staff here. They were really friendly and gave great recs and made the experience better!
Drinks and staff are amazing here! Highly recommend the brown butter & salted caramel latte. Not too sweet and the flavors of both really come through!The grape & espresso was also delicious, fruity note but great balance of tart and creaminess.

Soft opening today, Stray Dog is cafe by day and cocktail bar by night from the owner of Lost Cat Bar (yes, the bar with Toby, the dwarf cat!). They took over Junior in The Mission and it's an ode to the owner's dogs. The logo is of the owner's pommy. =) M E N U Cafe (closes at 3 pm) - Drinks: Coffee + Tea - Food: Bagel (Boichik) + Pastries (Neighbor Bakehouse) Bar (opens at 5 pm) - Beer, wine, and craft cocktails D R I N K S * Strawberry Matcha Cloud ($7.50) - Add extra matcha shot ($3.50) Whisked to order, the unsweetened matcha was smooth with a strong earthy flavor, balanced by the natural sweet tang of the strawberry cold foam. Hope they get in lids with a sippy hole. * Coconut Cold Brew ($7) Not mine, didn't taste. F O O D * Lox Bagel ($14) Served open-faced, the lightly toasted plain bagel with a satisfying chewy texture was generously smeared with rich cream cheese, savory lox, pickled onions, capers, and arugula. I liked that they use pinoy vinegar to pickle the onions, as it gave a softer acidic bite. S E R V I C E Friendly, gracious owner(s). A M B I A N C E Similar vibes to Junior, they kept pretty much kept it the same...modern-retro with high tops and banquette lounge seating in the back. No more photobooth tho. Dress in layers as it's warm inside. LOVE the R&B playlist...Hey Reynard Silva, Hey! P A R K I N G Challenging street parking. You can also park at General Hospital's garage across the street. Open 24/7 and it's $5/hour. Happy to see this space revive into a cafe by day, and cocktail bar at night. Def returning for cocktails soon!
cafe by day and bar by night, this place is gorgeous and serves up specialty coffee and cocktails. the staff are friendly, I asked if they were more known for their coffee or matcha and they said coffee. so I tried their pistachio latte and it was delicious! well balanced, not too sweet, and the espresso was nutty
4.5 stars* Spent the morning having breakfast with some RnB at a cafe inside a bar! This new spot is so pretty and feels like such a chill space. The matcha was pretty good (not super strong though, a little on the creamier side) and I appreciate the use of real strawberries in their cream top. Their bagel was pretty good too, I couldn't taste the ube dressing but overall the flavors blended well together with the fresh blueberries. Service was super friendly. Hope to try their bar some time!
This place is such a vibe. I'm so glad they finally did something with this space because Stray Dog is exactly what the neighborhood needed. During the day, it's a café, and they use Ritual Coffee, so they're already starting with high-quality beans. I usually get the espresso tonic, but I'll switch it up with the pistachio latte sometimes. The bagels are also delicious. I've tried all of them at this point, and the spicy cucumber is easily my favorite. They have pastries as well. The service has always been great, and the staff is attentive and welcoming. Nathan especially is super nice and really knowledgeable about what they're serving. Then in the evening, the whole place transitions into cocktails. I've worked my way through most of the cocktail menu, and they're genuinely unique, beautifully balanced, and dangerously easy to drink. Whether you're a coffee person, a craft cocktail person, or conveniently both like me, I definitely recommend Stray Dog.
3.5 stars for super sweet overpriced matcha. My friend saw a reel about Stray Dog, so we decided to stop by while going on a bagel crawl in the area. I'd had enough bagels by the time we arrived here, so I opted to just get a beverage. I ordered a strawberry cloud matcha with oat milk for $1 extra, which pushed my drink into the $9 range plus some change. The strawberry cloud was tasty but too sweet in my opinion. I didn't really taste the matcha, as it was overpowered by the milk and strawberry cloud. Also, the portion was pretty small compared to other cafés, so it felt like I was just paying for the ambience.
Super cute bar at night, cozy cafe during the day with asiain inspired drinks- we've already been twice for their soft opening and it has exceeded our expectations! We came on the second night for cocktails- they have an interesting menu- I got the sit stay matcha and the husband got the rice and smoke. The matcha cocktail was so delicius- creamy, boozy, dangerously drinkable. The next day we came for their coffee and bagels- coffee is top notch and the bagels are works of art. My blueberry yogurt one felt like I was eating a fluffy dessert. Prices are super reasonable, particularly for the quality. Highly recommend checking this place out!
Had a dope pizza pastry that came from a local bakery along with two of their coffee drinks. The brown butter latte sounds like it could be too sweet, but was totally on point. The bartender/barista had dope tunes playing which really set the mood. I'd come back and get drunk here when I'm back on the sauce. I'll leave wasted wandering around like a stray dog.
Beautiful ambiance. Plenty of seating and tables. The drinks are amazing. I highly recommend the "Sit Stay Matcha" drink -- honestly the best drink ever. Stray Dog is truly a hidden gem in SF. The staff are very friendly!

I have a feeling this is going to be a new Hot Spot! Back in the day this was a local after work hip cool bar and has now transitioned to a morning coffee bar/evening bar! I was able to try Stray Cat this morning for my morning coffee before heading into the office ...and it was great! Drinks and pastries looked delicious and the interiors have been upgraded to a modern hip vibe feel. Definitely going to be a local hang out. A must try and recommend! read more
Visited on a Friday evening for drinks with two friends around 5pm. It was pretty quiet we were first guest so plenty of open tables and seats. Drinks: Sit. Stay. Matcha. - okay, matcha forward with a creamy velvety mouthfeel from the cream topping, sweet with a medium level of booziness, like a vodka spiked matcha latte Rose Cloud - good, sweet and tart noticeable strawberry flavor with slight notes of rum, compliments the salted caramel cream top, favorite of the drinks we tried The Dog Walker - solid, banana forward in flavor with a strong rum, spirit forward and sweet, this was served in a fun dog mug which was a nice plus Service was solid, order at the bar and waited for our order before grabbing a seat. Took a few minutes for the drinks but very understandable given the layered cocktails. Overall a fun new cocktail spot in the mission, love the dog theme cocktails are just okay but would comeback for coffee. read more
