Every single time we order food for curbside-not only is it not ready by the time they say but we always have to walk in. What's the point of having curbside? Great experience!! Husband and I went here for an early lunch and very pleased with the service. They're doing things a bit different, they have you place your food order and pay for it prior to seating. Our food order was taken by a very nice young lady named Leta. She was very helpful and patient. After we ordered she gave us a table tracker and told us to take a seat anywhere. She explained everything is self-serve, you get your own beverage and utensils. After finishing our meal we had some food left, so I walked up to ask for a to-go box. A young staff member saw me and he asked "what could I help you with?" I just explained to him that I needed a to-go container. He was very helpful and with a smile said "Sure." After he gave me the container, I thanked him for taking care of us and got his name, Gabe. Gabe then took the time to talk to us briefly and ask how our meal was. We told him everything was very good. We were both very surprised that he took the time to speak with us. We told Gabe we used a gift card and there was enough left for the dessert we were thinking of ordering. He said he can get that dessert order in for us. He then told us to save what was left on the gift card for our next visit and dessert was on the house!!! Gabe has a wonderful demeanor and rapport with the customers of Stonefire. We came here for a company Christmas lunch and I do like that there were plenty of large tables to sit big parties. Everyone got their orders quickly and no one had any complaints. I don't know how much of a difference the personal salad vs. the group salad was (honestly, couldn't tell they were both huge) but their salad is pretty awesome for a healthier choice. Of course, going the carnivore route is good too as most of my coworkers opted for beef and chicken (they killed it, so must have been yum). Recently went to Stonefire Grill and I am so disappointed in the quality of food! The franchise has changed as a whole. Their food use to be good!!!! This location (Pasadena) the workers are amazing, super helpful and patient. It is well kept and clean! But it does feel like you are eating cafeteria food! Everything comes out warm, not meal hot! And not all out at once. The tri tip is a strange color, the ribs are not good, the salad is soggy. The only good thing is their pizza. Honestly, never going back to a stonefire grill in general. Lunch today - have not been for several years. The service was great. The most recent special lunch menu (I have no idea how long it has been active) is in my opinion weird. There are two sandwich choices, pizza, and 3 salads for which there are no descriptors. They then offer a variety of sides that you can choose with the above choices. Most of the sides are salads, but who wants to order a side salad with a salad? They did have soup, but I didn't want soup. It was just strange. I ordered the cartwheel salad, and I had a hard time finding the beets. They had all sunk to the bottom along with everything else, and I had a hard time keeping the food on the fork they provided. I also thought was also rather tasteless. My dining companion ordered a bowl of chicken tortilla soup and the cheese was so stretchy she had a hard time eating the soup and keeping the cheese out of her hair. The concept is you order first and then seat yourself anywhere. I really like this a lot. The food has never changed. It's basic family style food. Things I order here every time is pesto pasta, tri tip, salads, mash potatoes, beans, and breadsticks. Somethings I tried that were not really worth it is the sea bass because it's so tiny. You would have to let them know how you want your meats cooked. I got a medium well and it was more rare. Their signature salad is good and so is the blue cheese arugula salad. They have self pack to go boxes here and bags before the kitchen. Restrooms conveniently located on the side and parking free. Service they pretty much are not in sight. You would have to flag them down for any assistance as they are mostly in the kitchen or at the cashier counter. Food is good as always. read more

I don't know what happened but I haven't been here in a little while and it looks like this place is slowly going into the crapper, or they were extremely short staffed... we brought a Fredie day here for his birthday and we ordered for all three of us - triptip (2lbs), bbq chopped salad, and roasted cauliflower. We got the little buzzer and looked for a table. I wanted to sit outside cause naturally I like sitting outside, but EVERY table was dirty. They weren't being occupied, but they all had food and drinks all over. Nothing was cleaned up by the staff and you can see staff members walking through there but totally ignoring it. So we blew it off and sat inside.. well, it was the same crap on the inside tables as well.. 60% of them were just dirty. So we just got a random spot and sat down. I wasn't happy, so I decided to go back outside and I had to clean the table to sit at myself despite telling two workers that the tables needed to be cleaned. So I was completely ignored. The good came out and was delicious! Their food is wonderful! While we are eating, the workers are moving chairs around and decided not to pick them up but to drag them, so while we are celebrating my friends bday, we are yelling at each other from two feet away and getting pissed cause the chairs are dragging and making a cringing noise. Towards the end of our meal, I snuck away and bought a carrot cake. I asked the cashier if they can sing happy birthday and he said that they normally don't but he'll make it happen! Sounds good!! I was stoked! It would have been a total surprise! So I go back and sit down and am waiting and waiting and waiting... and finally I see her come out with a cake!! BUT she looks lost! So I wave her down and she puts the cake in front of my friend and just walks away. I was like WTF?!?! Seriously!???? So my wife and I sang a little happy birthday to him ourselves. The carrot cake tasted wonderful!! One of the best I've had! The experience we had was horrible!! The things we dealt with were amateur stuff that I would expect from maybe a new restaurant that JUST opened up and is learning the business or something... not Stone Fire Grill! Call me crazy, but there were more people walking around and asking customers in line "how many people do you have in your party?" than there was helping to clean, and keep up with the crowd. It was such a bad experience. I don't know if there was a change in management, but this is not the same Stone Fire Grill that I used to come to. This review is for their curbside takeout. I would give them 1 star for this alone. I don't even know why they offer curbside when they NEVER actually bring the food to your car. I have been multiple multiple times and only successfully had food brought to me ONCE in a timely manner. Even when no one else is waiting for curbside they make you wait. It is literally ALWAYS faster to just go inside and get it yourself, and I'm ok with that, but sometimes it's nice to not have to get out of the car. They clearly don't make this a priority and it's very unprofessional. I hope someone at corporate reads these because this is an issue they need to fix. read more

My fiance got the well known chopped BBQ salad and was extremely disappointed the chicken was very obviously, not BBQ'd... Aside from that, the torilla soup was good and the portion was great for the price. Salad portion was great as well. This place has great customer service too. You order at the front, then a waiter brings your food and periodically checks on you. Just as good as dining in! Been there so many times including one time my workout buddies chose the spot to celebrate my birthday. The food is/was delicious! i want to preface this by saying i LOVE stonefire grill and usually have a great experience here, but after having a meh experience ordering through postmates i'll probably just stick to eating there in person :( we ordered the stimulus package ($30.99) which comes with a salad, tri tip or chicken, a 2 topping pizza and 8 breadsticks. it's a great deal for a bunch of food that would easily feed 3-5 people! we ended up choosing the Caesar salad, tri tip, and getting mushroom and sausage on our pizza. we also ordered a small pesto pasta & added chicken. let's start off with the good: the portions were great! there was definitely enough food to feed the 5 of us. the breadsticks were everything i remembered them to be (aka literal heaven in the form of carbs) and the pesto pasta was perfectly creamy and flavorful but, we did have some issues: first off, our pizza order ended up being slightly wrong. instead of the mushroom & sausage we ordered, we got mushroom & pepperoni. definitely not a huge deal, just a slight bummer. next, for our order of tri tip we had selected the sauce on the side option. the sauce we were given ended up being (i wish i was exaggerating) a small container with about a tablespoon worth of sauce... for an entire order of tri tip. the tri tip was also cut against the grain which made it a lot more tough to chew. lastly, the pesto pasta was tasty as always but we found a pretty big chicken bone fragment (see photo) which made us wary for the rest of the meal. again, i still love stonefire grill and the food that didn't have issues was delicious as always, we were just left disappointed. will give them another try in person next time & hopefully will have a better experience! read more

We had a whole slab of ribs to go and when I asked for some BBQ sauce, although they seemed to have some pre-packaged BBQ packs for the take out section, the employee handed me some lids (to self-serve) even though I had my hands full with our very large order. I went ahead and did it myself. The food was worth fetching my own BBQ sauce, even though I was literally staring at the "take out" BBQ sauce the entire time of that interaction. So we tend to get the stimulus deal at stonefire delivered once a month through Uber eats. About a year ago, they used to be super busy, so would sometimes not accept the order immediately, then cancel. This was fine. Tonight, I placed an order for the stimulus deal and some beans at 5:50pm 3/22. I set down my phone after 10 mins knowing they hadn't cancelled so we'd be getting our food in about an hour so I can deal with our screaming child. Around 7 I look at my phone and see that stonefire had cancelled the order and the stimulus deal is now not showing in stock. Great, we'll, all is not lost, I'll just order the feast, I order that and some beans. I wait 10 mins and call stonefire and speak with an employee who lets me know they don't see the order in the system but it should be coming through. I look at my order and it's now been cancelled again. Now the family feast is out of stock on Uber eats, I call Uber eats to ask what's going on and they let me know the merchant is out of stock. Now I have no idea what to feed the in-laws and I still have a child to deal with and it's 7:20pm. Well played Stonefire, you win. You cratered my night and I'm scrambling to find dinner.
