Probably the most disappointing down turn in a place we used to love since the very day it opened. Whether it's putting meat in our vegetarian food, continually serving our veggie food with knives dripping in sauces and chucks of meat remnants left on it, simply not having staff that can sub out a simple item for another when ordering, salads coming soggy, the same arrogant male manager mansplaining things to his guests and their inability to make delivery food correctly and uneatable to us and only refunding half the money for food we must throw out and reorder from somewhere else to just plain feeling like this place doesn't give a darn about it's guests has made our bi weekly visits become once every two or three months. If we get one more interaction like those above and we see that manager talking down to anyone or ourselves with a fake smile again, we'll be done. Not even our child's love of your "green noodles" will lure us back. It seems the simplest things can no longer be done here the vast majority of the timeLast time we were there they made half our food wrong and never brought the other half or drinks we paid for. We were forced to leave hungry and tried another locale close by as we again wasted time there fo no avail. Thankfully, they treated us gloriously and hosted us easily. Stonefire, pls get new mgmt who like their jobs and patrons and put customers first, train your front of house and kitchen staff. When we told the manager we'd be leaving a bad yelp review. He smirky laughed. He can keep on laughing and enjoying telling guests their outa luck all he wants. All it will end up is with more reviews like this, obviously as you can see below. There's obviously a huge mgmt issue here. He feels too comfortable and entitled. read more

Worst worst worst service ever. I used to work for the chain in high school so I thought I'd relive old memories and bring my family. I ordered 3 meals that came with dessert as a part of the deal. When I told the manager that only two of our desserts came out she accused me of lying as if i didn't know what i ordered. My brother ordered tri tip medium rare and it came out well done and the mash potatoes came out extremely dry. Everything was horrible from start to finish. They kept forgetting items and we kept having to remind them. Word of advice dont come here but if you do keep your receipt. The manager eventually came out with the carrot cake but no apology what so ever and basically throws it at our table in rage because we were right?? Makes no sense. I asked for take away boxes and she points behind the register and says they're over there go get them. WORST SERVICE EVER. WORST MANAGER! HORRIBLE EVERYTHING. Back in the day there were great workers and managers who were friendly and hospitable now it's a circus, the company needs to fix this because this is NOT the Stonefire I once knew. I'm shocked! Manager: black hair, bigger frame, older woman. read more

Visited this place last night on a recommendation and was overwhelmed by the crowds at the door. It was a bit confusing for a newbie but if you've ever eaten at a Sizzler, then the format is essentially the same. It's your basic heard mentality. As a result, we felt rushed to decide and order our food which for first timers, was a little stressful. I thought the food was just average. I've had better tri-tip and sides at other BBQ joints. Pulled Pork sandwich was a bit dry for me so I really had to sauce it up to get it down. Kids had the Mac and Cheese and my son only ate half; and he eats everything! I tried and well, just blah. As for the environment, very NOISY. I couldn't even hear the girl at the counter repeat my order back to me so I just agreed hoping it was ok. I'm also a person that likes having a waiter or waitress to take my order and check to see if I'm ok or get me anything. I don't mind paying or tipping for that so now I know. My recommendation is that if go in knowing what to expect, then it's probably not that bad. My family we'll probably try it one more time now that we know and give a few more menu items a try. read more

I grew up in Huntington Beach which is neighbors with Fountain Valley where I discovered Stonefire Grill. I was obsessed!! Went at least once a week if not more. When I moved to Irvine and discovered they had a Stonefire too I was so excited. My boyfriend just surprised me with picking up dinner for us here. He called on his way to the restaurant to do a phone order that way he wasn't waiting too long at the restaurant for it to be cooked. He came home and we started eating. This is the worst pasta I've ever had here. He paid $5 to add chicken to the pesto pasta and it was dry and cold. The pasta was hardly covered in pesto and felt like it was leftovers. I was so disappointed I didn't even finish it. We're huge fans on the breadsticks and even those tasted like they have been sitting out for hours. I'd very sad the take out was not the same quality of dine in. Very disappointed read more

I really weirdly like this place. There is something super awesome about a place that has a lot of comfort food that is 2 blocks from my house. It is made even more awesome that I can call and place my order and by the time I get there the food is ready for me to take home and eat watching tv. I obviously love the convenience of this place, but the food keeps bringing me back. The garlic chicken is sooo good. I love garlic and lots of it, so it is perfect to me. It is always tender and juicy. The breadsticks are like garlic pretzels. Yum! The garlic mashed potatoes are my favorite thing here. I could eat a tub. Some of my other favorites include the fiesta salad (which comes in the big tostada shell), the roasted corn, and the tri tip. My boyfriend loves the pizza here. Definitly a great casual place to go. Something on the menu for everyone. read more

I ordered out from StoneFire two nights ago. I ordered the Petite TriTip Dinner. Fully half of the meat was really nothing but fat--completely fat and gristle. I have had to return my TriTip before for there being so called "pieces" of fat. I am not referring to some fat in my TriTip. No, I am talking about the whole piece is fat and gristle. Look, the portions of meat are meticulously weighed but they do not pay attention as to whether you are getting a piece of fat or a piece of meat. So now it's take out--what do you do? The value and the convenience is GONE! I gave them two stars because, let's face it, the food is good, it's tasty! But it is a rip-off when they say they are giving you 6 ounces of Tri Tip and then you are really getting about 3 ounces, if you are lucky! read more

The last time I ate at Stonefire, I was not really happy with my order. I called in for take out and they messed up my whole order and I left angry. Yesterday, I called again giving it another chance and Hiva answered the phone. She was very helpful and she gave us vegan options for my wife since she couldn't eat many of the foods there. She recommended the Greek salad with a few changes to it and it was absolutely delicious. I ordered the tri-tip, and this time it tasted great! I'll give this place a 5-stars again!!!! Thank you Hiva and I can't wait to be back for more! read more

We had Stonefire Grill cater business lunches for our customer at three locations in the months of September and October. They were amazingly easy to work with and extremely helpful in getting the orders placed and delivered on time. The delivery drivers/servers that set up the lunches were wonderful. Everyone loved the food. The Tri tip was tender, chicken delicious, the salad looked and tasted great. Oh, the desserts were AMAZING. Big hit with our customers. Thank you to all of the folks at Stonefire that made this so easy, and so delicious. read more

I really like coming to stone fire grill. I live really close to it so sometimes during lunch, I make my way there and get the lemon Garlic chicken and chicken bbq chopped. I can never ever get enough. The service here is also so amazing. No other place does it like this. My husband and I came In on Friday night and Hiva was very sweet and made sure our orders were cost effective and recommended meals to us and they were great once we received it. Thank you stone fire for your great food and amazing service! :) read more

I have passed this place many times as I was under the impression that this is an expensive restaurant. However, we finally decided to try it and were very pleasantly surprised. We ordered the tri-tip and it was awesome, the breadsticks are garlicky as we like it, and the kids menu are a sizable portion, and all for a good price. If I had one negative thing to say it is that the ribs could have been betterOverall, very well done, Stonefire Grill, we will be back soon. read more

This was a last minute pizza run we and were pleasantly surprised. Ordered a medium salad for 2 and the waitress suggested a small. She was right. Even the small was huge. Ordered a pizza and they brought it out and told us one half was burned on the bottom, but they wanted us to have something while we waited for our replacement pizza. The second pizza was free of charge and the first pizza was only burned on about 3 slices. Food was good. Service was friendly! read more

STONEFIRE Grill BBQ is never empty, and that's the biggest compliment anyone can pay them. It is suitable for anyone who likes BBQ, from babies to centenarians. The menu won't please vegetarians but there's something for everyone else. Try the brisket sandwich (I get it chopped), the mac and cheese and peach cobbler. You will get a hearty meal at a good price. One caveat: the smokers are working full time, so wear something you can throw in the laundry after. read more

I have ordered takeout from here several times and have consistently found the meals lacking. The roast beef in the French dip was excessively chewy, and the au jus was the only element that had any discernible flavor. Most recently, I tried the pasta marinara. Despite the excellent service, the sauce was entirely bland. While it is possible that dining in the restaurant might offer a different experience, I am reluctant to risk another disappointing meal. read more

Stonefire has the best deals for family sized portions and pasta! I love their pesto pasta, bread sticks, and tri tip family deal. I always go with big groups of friends because the portion sizes are so huge. Make sure to avoid rush hour times because the wait can be a little bit long, but overall it is a great place for large parties or if you're going by yourself there will be lots of leftovers! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! read more

Really a great place for taking meal specially sandwich and pizza. Every time I am here with my friends and we are satisfied as they provide us with nice and great tasty food which is really desired by us here and there. On the very first day the staff were asked so many questions form us but they were not being disturbed and they helped us so much to have a good meal. read more

I had them cater a bit family meal for us. Great options for meats, and sides, and the service was on time courteous and did a good job. You can have them bring basic plating or use your own depending on how nice you want things to be. THe pricing is reasonable is the best thing. also always tons of left overs, was eating the stuff for days after which is great. read more

Good old cafeteria style food in a throw-back location in the heart of revitalized Irvine. The burger was great as well as the peanut butter chocolate chip cookie. The chef Larry actually came out of the back to check on our meal and make sure all was to our liking. A great little place, fantastic staff, and a perfect spot to grab lunch when in the city. read more

Been here a couple times before. Perfect comfort food and again no wait or lines on a weeknight. Did the Stimilus package with tri-tip, caesar salad, breadsticks and a sausage mushroom pizza. Everything was tasty and well prepared. The pizza could have used more toppings but the crust was solid. The tri tip is the winner and the breadsticks. read more
