We ate a late lunch here on a whim while stopping off at the nearby Hallmark store and we discovered a new fav. The food here is fresh. Cooked to order. You pay up front and they bring the food to your table. You seat yourself and they have very nice patio eating. Serve yourself beverage bar. The pep pizza (12") was very good. Not too much sauce, tasty pepperoni, and a real good crust. We also ordered the pulled-pork sandwich was delicious! From the crusty roll to the tender pork with a perfect amount of sauce, this sandwich was awesome. The baked beans are some of the best I've had. They're firm and not overly cooked and the sauce is rich but savory and not too sweet. The garlic mashed potatoes were super yummy. Not gummy but mashed from real potatoes, with the skin still on and just the perfect lumpiness. And you could actually taste the garlic and seasonings. They cook for flavor here and they don't drown everything in sugary sauces to mask poor quality meat or cooking. The service was attentive and polite, but laid back. At 3 in the afternoon, when we were there, the place was fairly pumpin with a good vibe. They serve wife and beer. The only drawback was they served my wife's sandwich, beans, and garlic mashed potatoes a good 15 minutes before my pizza arrived so she was virtually finished before I started digging in. I mentioned this to our waiter (who actually looked like the manager) and he was apologetic and understanding, but didn't quite get what we were saying. We ended up talking to him for sometime about this family-run business being located just in SoCal. We will most definitely return. read more

This is one of our favorite places to eat! We are a fam of 6 so it's not like we can come every wk but for special occasions we love it. Everything is delish! But the last two times we've gone the portions have not been as big, the mac n cheese and the salads are definitely smaller, the meats are the same... seems like it's just the sides. Not sure if it's under new management or what's changed. We still love coming here just wish they would go back to bigger portions. read more

love the breadsticks! yummy! i love the lunch menu but watch out if you order a drink that they only charge you for the lunch special drink. i eat there a couple times a week and they overcharge me 3 out of 4 times. love the tri tip and cobb salad. read more

Went here based on Yelp reviews and this place was horrible! $55 for 3 people and we didn't even eat half of it because it was so bad. The meat had no flavor, the mashed potatoes tasted like crappy boxed potatoes, the beans were just so so, everything was just blah. We ordered a Caesar salad at the cashiers recommendation after telling us it was one of their signature salads and very good and it was just blah. I mean really how can you mess up a Caesar salad? We will for sure never go back. read more

love the bbq chopped salad!! great place in town!

I love eating here. There are so many healthy choices. Stonefire is the first place I think of when I want to go out to eat. They are affordable and serve big portions. My usual is the South of the Border salad with chicken and ask them to substitute kale instead of mixed greens, but I've had many wonderful dishes on the menu such as the BBQ Chopped, Cobb, and Cartwheel salads. The Works Pizza, Tomesto pasta, Pulled Pork Sandwich, Salmon, and Chicken/Tri-tip combo are amazing. I haven't tried the ribs yet but I heard they are glorious. They have the best breadsticks I've ever had. I love the nutty coleslaw as well. For dessert, the carrot cake is the best. I'm sure I would love everything on the menu. The servers and managers are very friendly and accommodating. I met up with some friends at the one in Fountain Valley last night. It was my first time at that location. They were really busy and got my order wrong three times. The manager gave me a refund for my meal after I explained to him that my friends were already done with theirs as I was barely digging into mine. I saw one of the pretty girls from the Irvine location. It was nice to see a familiar face, but the one in Fountain Valley doesn't seem to have the same friendly ambiance as this one. I definitely prefer this location over Fountain Valley just for the exceptionally friendly service. I have recommended this place to everyone I know. All of my friends are super pleased and have become huge fans as well. read more

This place has the best salads for lunch in Irvine. I probably come here 3 times a week for the south of the boarder salad. I always order takeout but the cashiers are always friendly and attentive. Great prices, generous portions, and a delicious healthy meal. read more

We asked for Tri-tip med-rare and it came with no pink. We didn't feel like arguing on a busy Sat. night. It was chewy. We also had the ribs, which had little meat, very fatty and nothing to write home about. The place has good portion sizes and the food arrives fast. Enjoyed the caesar and breadsticks. I'm really not sure why this place gets so high reviews for barbeque. Maybe I'll try the pizza next time. read more

Excellent food! My favorite is the tri tip, we've had it a few times. It was excellent, very tender even when well done. The salmon and ribs were also very good. Their sides are all good, the Caesar salad has the best dressing that I have ever had. The ordering process does throw you off a bit, as you don't expect the food to be as good as it is. read more

This is a decent family restaurant. Portion sizes are generous. The garlic mash potatoes were well liked by everyone in our party. The salmon was also well received. The grilled chicken was a tad over cooked. The beef tri tip was mediocre. The kids pizza meal was a good deal. Overall I felt that the restaurant was overpriced given the modest decor and mediocre food. read more

Variety is great, my grandson liked his pizza and my combo was great. Service is wonderful. Easy in and out. Even on a Friday night. We will definately be back. read more

I ordered the ribs and a soup and definitely would not plan on coming back here again. Usually ribs have meat that is flavorful and falls off the bones but this was cut thick, terribly bland, chewy and the meat stuck to the bones. I ate two pieces and couldn't eat anymore. For the price I would choose Urban Plates or Cava Mediterranean over Stonefire any day. read more

After hearing about this restaurant advertised on the radio for years, I made the trek and met my parents here for lunch. The service was fast and friendly, but the food greatly disappointed. For as much as everyone raved about their breadsticks, they were just "okay" - not terrifically fresh nor spectacular. The pulled pork sandwich my parents ordered was satisfactory, but the side order of garlic mashed potatoes was dry and lackluster. I ordered the chicken lunch special with a quinoa salad. The chicken was swimming in a garlic sauce and the quinoa salad was plain and boring. The bathrooms had the strongest stench of sewage, and when I reported it, they responded with "oh we know." All that to say, we were highly dissatisfied and will not be returning! read more

Just had a great birthday dinner at StoneFire Grill in Irvine. We were welcomed as soon as we came in the door. The people at the register were very helpful. Grant and Michael by their excellent service lended greatly to a wonderful dining experience. The food was excellent and delivered to our table promptly and prepared just right. Thanks for a wonderful evening! read more

I ordered online and everything looked like it would be good until I opened the containers. The tri tip was burned and I asked for it medium rare. The garlic mashed potatoes were over salted. It's terrible when you are stuck at home with disgusting food. I hope they keep up with their quality. I called the male manager and he was defensive and rude to me. Very unprofessional read more

Nice place, clean, and reasonably priced. But stop making my food so darn salty.

I love this place. Their south of the border salad is amazing, particularly the chile lime dressing. Their bread sticks are also delicious. It's so good that I find myself craving it all the time. The service is great, everyone is very nice and helpful. Even though it is an order at the counter and seat yourself kind of place, the employees still take the time to come and ask if you are enjoying your food. Every once in a while the chicken will be burned, which is my only complaint. One time it was so bad that we actually had to complain about it. They gave us a free brownie and a 10 dollar gift card to come back, which was nice of them. read more

We really enjoyed the food here. The tri tip was my favorite. We'll be going back.

I went the other day with my boyfriend and ordered the BBQ beef sandwich. It probably isn't anything I would order again, but my boyfriend ordered ribs and he loved them. When I go back again, I think I'll have to get them! read more

Stonefire Grill recently catered my engagement party and did a great job! They arrived on time and began setting up the buffet style food quickly and quietly. Everyone loved the food and the caterers were kind enough to cut and serve cake and cheesecake that we provided without hesitation. We were very pleased with the entire process of working with Stonefire's catering service and will happily return. read more

Get the Stimulus package. It includes pizza, steak, salad, and breadsticks for a great price!! Usually lasts me a few days by myself but it could serve at least 3 people. read more

They were out of most of the sandwiches on Sunday evening. I had the BBQPizza and the chicken was dry. The food did not come out for my party at the same time, causing people to wait. Not a good experience. read more

Love their tri-tips and grilled chicken! Loved the bread sticks! Garlicky salad is great too! Good portion and good price!

Dang this place is good. Can't believe that there are people who don't like this place. I've been here at least 50 times in the past few years. Every time, we get the breadsticks, pesto pasta, tri tip, pizza, and a few drinks. Best BBQ sauce in town. Friendly staff and reasonable prices when you have it family style. Can't wait to come back soon. read more

If you order online, make sure you personally check your order before leaving the restaurant. I have ordered online twice and received an incorrect order both times. When I picked up my order yesterday, the cashier read my order out loud to me and even visually checked the items in the bags. Still wrong. read more

Yummy yummy yummy....tried tip is great and the mashed potatoes are something to write to granny about. The Cesar salad is so fresh and good. Must try. read more

Yo, this place is awesome. I called in to pick up two large pizzas. To my horror when I came in they gave me two large salads. They immediately fixed the mistake, gave us an adjusted refund, brownies for waiting longer (which weren't that good but it's the thought that counts), and free drinks. All which really weren't necessary but we really appreciated the kindness from Parker and other staff! Thank you! read more

I truly hate eating at this location. It's always busy and there isn't a place you can sit without getting blasted by wind when someone opens one of the many doors to go outside - which happens at least 3 times every minute. However, the staff here is AMAZING and super accommodating and the food just can't be beat for the price. I highly recommend getting food from here....to go. read more

Tried Stonefire grill for the first time. Had the 6oz tri-tip meal with mashed potatoes. Solid flavor throughout and even had fresh horseradish available which was great. Restaurant was clean and service was attentive. Reasonably priced. Would eat here again. read more

No restaurant in the whole city of Irvine can compare to Stonefire's breadsticks. And Tri-tip. And salads. And everything else on the menu. The portions match the price very well as well as the taste of the food. It is too addicting. And the service was really amazing too! There was a server named Tammy that constantly checked up on me if I needed anything and if everything was alright. It made me feel like I was at home. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone because it never fails to amaze me after all of the times I've been there. read more

I come here all the time after I workout for a quick meal. Great prices and great food. I love the nutty Cole slaw as a side to their tri tip meal. Share with a friend as its only $20 for a ton of food! I highly recommend. read more

My new favorite restaurant in Irvine! Petite tri-tip was juicy and tender at medium rare. Perfectly cooked. I like the mode of service: self-seating with food brought to you. Also their pizzas are really good! The food came out really fast too. I will be back again and again. P.s don't forget to try their garlic mashed potatoes. read more

Recently had our party catered by the Stone Fire Grill and the food was a big success. All my party guests commented on how great the food was and many said they would look into using Stone Fire the next time they had to cater an event. Also, the setup and delivery couldn't have been easier and the food keeps really well for leftovers. Highly recommended. read more

I love stonefire grill and have been going to it for years. I decided try something different today (the new chicken patty Mediterranean salad) and really didn't like it. Michael was great and was more than accommodating to change my order and saved the day. This place has great service! Highly recommend also for family dinners and get togethers. read more

The price was great and the food too! I recommend this place to everyone. I was in OC for business, and a business associate took me there. I loved the Chicken with lemon garlic and mashed potatoes . read more

This place is the bomb. Whenever I get an urge to eat bbq, I love to come here. It's low key, casual dining at reasonable prices! I usually order their individual meals, which comes with a salad, garlic breadsticks and two meats. I get the trip tip and the chicken breast or when I want to be really bad, the dark meat chicken with the skin on :-) Actually, their chicken breast comes with skin too, but I don't care because it's so moist and juicy. I get the lemon garlic sauce with it and it's super garlicky. Their portions are huge, for me anyway. Whenever my boyfriend and I go, we usually split the meal. The food comes out super fast and while this place gets busy sometimes, it's not ever too busy that you can't find a table right away. You seat yourself here and while waiting for your food, you grab your utencils, sauces and drinks. Great for wanting to grab a quick dinner without having to eat fast food. Oh yes and don't forget to order desert. Their carrot cake is sooo good, so rich and not overly sweet, love the walnuts and the frosting. Sometimes I go just for the carrot cake! read more

Been a long time fan of Stonefire until tonight. Ordered the tri tip salad and was given leftover meat that you couldn't even chew. When we complained the manager asked, "so what do you want me to do about it?" We ordered a replacement salad and proceeded to wait and wait. When we decided to give up and leave the manager argued with us. I don't know what happened to their quality and service but I won't be back. read more

Food was good, but not unique. Pretty standard fare. Service was not great.

have been there twice with my friends , I love their parmesan/garlic bread. Staff are nice too! Will go back again.

I'm giving 2 stars because of the service. The food was alright, but the service was not good. The employee asked to clear some of the plates for us. We said 'no' clearly to some of them, but they cleared all of it. I wasn't finished with with one of my dishes yet and they took it away. We tried to stop them, but it was too late. It's not always the food that matters. Sometimes, the customer service matters too. I hate giving negative comments/reviews, but this place earned it. read more
