Amir treated us like family and was eager to make sure that we had the best take out experience. He was so funny and extremely kind. He made sure our order was exactly what we wanted and even hooked it up with free dessert! We will definitely come back for the food but will be happy to come back because of Amir's service. This was actually my first time trying out Stonefire because I saw the promotion for the stimulus package. When i got there, i decided to order it to go just because it seemed crowded and I was beginning to get a headache. I guess the guy who took my order misheard me but I said to go; he ended up giving me a # instead of taking my name. Everyone else was getting their food and I was beginning to wonder if they forgot about me. I think the manager saw me sitting there with a number in hand and came by to ask if I ordered to go, I said yes so he went back to get my order. I picked up my food and left. Well when I got home, I opened everything and guess what? Yup, they messed up on my order. It's so obvious since they crossed off the number on the bag and crossed off what I ordered. So, you're probably wondering why I am giving them 5 stars? Well my boyfriend went back to get the correct order. He spoke to the manager Sean and he was super awesome. Sean apologized for the mistake and definitely made up for it. Not only did he give us our correct order but he also added some extras and when I say extras I mean EXTRAS! When my boyfriend came back, I was shocked to see him carrying extra bags. He explained to me what happened and he himself wasn't expecting such a generous outcome. I wasn't so crazy about the pizza, I was hoping for it to be well cooked & with great ingredients. The toppings were good and of descent quality but the cooking & dough wasn't at it's best. The salad was FANTASTIC, definitely fresh ingredients. I've had very good pizzas elsewhere so as good as these guys may be to the locals, unfortunately I can't really eat any of theirs. I've eaten here before and had a pretty decent experience, however my take out experience tonight was nothing to brag about, which is why I am writing this review. I decided to try ordering a take out french dip with a side of mashed potatoes. the overall online ordering experience was pretty straight forward and not very confusing. upon arrival, i was asked if i would like any utensils, which i thought was odd considering the side I ordered would require them, but i happily agreed and said "yes, as well as some napkins please." I was given back a plethora of napkins, but no utensils. Im happy for the extra napkins that now live in my vehicle in case of emergency, but i did not appreciate having to eat my mashed potatoes by squeezing them out of the to-go container. As far as the french dip I ordered, they did not initially provide dipping sauce which is something I caught, and waited for them to prepare and give to me after i had arrived. The french dip was definitely sub par compared to the pizza I had eaten on my last visit; the bread was noticeably hard and had a stale taste as if it was prepared way before the actual sandwich was made and sat around all day until it was selected as the unlucky winner to join some meat for my evening meal. Taking your advice my husband, myself and another couple went to have lunch at Stone Fire yesterday at noon. When we order lunch, I chose a french dip that stated it as "piled high with roast beef" and my husband got a steak and cheese sandwich that stated the same thing. When we got those sandwiches both of them had approximately i/3 of an inch of meat and a bun 6 inches high. When they brought my plate, the ajouis that was in a very small dish had spilled out and a lot of it on the plate which very little left in the dish. My husband asked for the broth as well, and when he got it, it also was more on the plate than in the bowl. The bread was very stale and the sandwiches were totally tasteless. The couple with us were not happy as well. I know you talk on your program how you love this outfit and how good their food is, and the only thing I can say is that they are taking a whole lot more time and care with your food than what they served us. Needless to say, we will never be going back there for any reason. When we walked in and ordered, my husband asked if they give Military discounts, and the young man taking the order said let me ask the manager. With that, the manager came to us and said the only ones we honor with that is when they are in uniform. Bill, my husband fought in the Korean war and is 81 yrs old, how ungrateful can you be. My husband loves the tri tip at this place. I ate here with him years ago and though eh, it's ok. I decided to try it for dinner today with him again. We got a "petite" macaroni and cheese which was humongous. It would have fed three at least 3 people as a hefty hefty side. I wasn't too impressed with it because i was expecting a piping hot pile of cheesy gooey pasta (doesn't that sound great?) and maybe it's the cheese they use but much of it was stuck together in big stiff globs and it wasn't really hot. We also had the ribs and the tri tip. My tri tip was just warm, not hot. I had it medium but I would imagine it should at least come out hot. My favorite item was the ribs. While they weren't fall off the bone they were tender, tasty, and hot. We had caesar salads to start before all of this and they were good. It was weird, I was eating the salad thinking, it looks like it's got a lot of dressing, but it doesn't feel like it has a lot of dressing but it's good. This was my first time ordering from the irvine location, I ordered the petite marinara pasta, petite garden salad w/ olive oil dressing and a half order of breadsticks to go. I called as I was on my way and when I arrived it was ready to go...I thought to myself great service, the food will be just as good. Wrong!!! The breadsticks were warm but we're very tough and dry, they tasted bland and as though they were made yesterday and left sitting under a lamp all night long. The pasta had the lightest coating of marinara sauce, but that was probably because it was left out underneath a lamp as well. The salad was the only part of my lunch that I could slightly enjoy, the tomatoes had a weird flavor and the evoo vinaigrette had no vinegar in it, I wished I had a lemon to spruce it up a bit! And lastly, the worst part of it all...I picked this up for lunch and when I sit down at my desk to eat it, there were no utensils!!!! That has to be one of my biggest pet peeves, how am I supposed to eat?!?!? I understand that my order came on right during the lunch rush, but I would still expect a decent meal. Let me start off by saying I really like the food at Stonefire (*for reals...) That being said... My review is mostly based upon my multiple bad experiences with call in and online orders. I work literally right across the street from the the Irvine location and frequently order ahead (*I have a pretty short lunch, so I need to be in and out quickly.) I have multiple instances were I had to wait 10 minutes or more for an order I placed hours ahead. It is extremely frustrating as it cuts into my lunch hour. However, my most recent experience took the cake... I ordered online way early. When I got to the restaurant my order wasn't ready naturally. I had 3 different people check on me but only 1 actually follow through. After waiting just about 30 minutes, I ended up cancelling my order because... It still wasn't even cooked!! What?!? The best part is that the last person to help me was standing right at the cook's counter asking him for my chicken and he (the chef) was annoyed and basically brushed him off! As if he could care less! It is blatantly clear that the management at this location are not utilizing their team efficiently. Everyone at the front are constantly switching stations and no one seems to be responsible for any one thing. When someone checks on you they then hurriedly move on to a phone call and never come back to check on you! I have decided I am done! Won't spend my dollars there any more. read more

I ordered the ribs and a soup and definitely would not plan on coming back here again. Usually ribs have meat that is flavorful and falls off the bones but this was cut thick, terribly bland, chewy and the meat stuck to the bones. I ate two pieces and couldn't eat anymore. After hearing about this restaurant advertised on the radio for years, I made the trek and met my parents here for lunch. The service was fast and friendly, but the food greatly disappointed. For as much as everyone raved about their breadsticks, they were just "okay" - not terrifically fresh nor spectacular. The pulled pork sandwich my parents ordered was satisfactory, but the side order of garlic mashed potatoes was dry and lackluster. I ordered the chicken lunch special with a quinoa salad. The chicken was swimming in a garlic sauce and the quinoa salad was plain and boring. The bathrooms had the strongest stench of sewage, and when I reported it, they responded with "oh we know." Yuck. I don't give one star reviews but this place is so bad I had to ask my family not to come here anymore when they would suggest it to go out to dinner. I'd say it was split- two people liked it, probably for the price, and 4 people hated it. I got a giant salad with avacado vinegrette, and peppers, (I think a southwest tri-tip salad)- not only did they forget about it, but once I got it is was just bland and nasty. HOW do you mess up a vinagrette salad. And the meat was hard and tasted like it had been sitting out for a week. The next time I came, one of the sides was some lemon chicken dish. It was ice-cold, floating in water, and had little strips of cold fat along the top. Everything else was sort of bland and boring too. I'm not one to pass up a free meal, but in this case its better to "just say no". I could think of so many other places to spend ten bucks. Someone compared it to Pat & Oscars, well they arent really my favorite but Pat & Oscar's is WAY WAY more tasty in comparison. read more

My wife and i have been eating here consistently for a few years now. I can only liken it to an upscale Pat & Oscar's, with WAY better food and a more relaxed atmosphere (not so fast foody). Stonefire catering is amazing! They catered my graduation party last year and the whole process was very easy and accommodating. They offered us samples and gave us different options and were really patient with all of our requests. I had to dock one star because they did come late to the event, due to getting lost. My company would order from this place for events. I introduce some new coworkers to this place and they fell in love with it, been going back ever since. However, two things we've notice, we don't all get our food at the same time, so someone ends up looking at the other person enjoying their meal, but some of us can understand hey it's not really your sit down dinner place. Another thing is they serve that luscious tri tip on those metal plates, there is alot of AC going on in there, and I've learned to eat my meat as soon as it gets there if i want to eat it warm, otherwise by the time im eating my salad, I will end up eating cold tri-tip. We literally moved 3 times in different areas and just noticed heck there where ac vents pretty much eveywhere we sat that day, so this time I ate my meat as soon as it was brought out :) But dam the food is ooooohhh so good here. We ate a late lunch here on a whim while stopping off at the nearby Hallmark store and we discovered a new fav. The food here is fresh. Cooked to order. You pay up front and they bring the food to your table. You seat yourself and they have very nice patio eating. Serve yourself beverage bar. The pep pizza (12") was very good. Not too much sauce, tasty pepperoni, and a real good crust. We also ordered the pulled-pork sandwich was delicious! From the crusty roll to the tender pork with a perfect amount of sauce, this sandwich was awesome. The baked beans are some of the best I've had. They're firm and not overly cooked and the sauce is rich but savory and not too sweet. The garlic mashed potatoes were super yummy. Not gummy but mashed from real potatoes, with the skin still on and just the perfect lumpiness. And you could actually taste the garlic and seasonings. They cook for flavor here and they don't drown everything in sugary sauces to mask poor quality meat or cooking.The service was attentive and polite, but laid back. At 3 in the afternoon, when we were there, the place was fairly pumpin with a good vibe. They serve wife and beer. The only drawback was they served my wife's sandwich, beans, and garlic mashed potatoes a good 15 minutes before my pizza arrived so she was virtually finished before I started digging in. I mentioned this to our waiter (who actually looked like the manager) and he was apologetic and understanding, but didn't quite get what we were saying.
