I procrastinated and waited until the last day of the month to get an inspection for my registration and didn't really wait that long at all. I arrived at 8:10am and was on the road by 8:30am to get to work. If you don't have a hard copy of your insurance card either, you can pull it up electronically just fine at their location. This was a good shop when it was run by experienced female mechanics. They have since hired some youg men who are incompetent. They could not find the OBD port in my car, this is akin to a HEB employee not knowing where the checkouts are. I explained to them that all cars made in their lifetime have it under the dash near the driver's door, they should know this too. Then it gets worse ... they bent the bracket, and like any bad shop blamed me, but I hoisted their petard by taking their accusation to the only people who have ever worked on the car, Roger Beasley Mazda, who verified it was not damaged. read more

Driving a 1997 car you're always apprehensive of getting that "annual inspection" done...I'm guessing it's the car version of seeing a gynecologist. I've actually used the Sticker Stop before with our company cars. Why do we even waste time, money, and bureaucracy on cars less than 3 years old!? Anyways, my prior visit to the Sticker Stop had one car ahead of me and I signed the credit card receipt within 30 minutes. With my '97 hoop-d I wasn't so optimistic even with no car ahead. Within 20 minutes I received the verdict: needed a windshield wiper and lug nut (where did THAT go?) replaced. I paid my $28.75 and had 15 days to return for a re-inspection. Still an under 30 minute visit! Here is another great thing about Sticker Stop. Situated within a few lights of quite a few auto places (O'Reilly's and Discount Tire in my case) to take care of my fixes I was back for my re-inspection within half an hour. Neal and Lance were both very helpful! Lance even offered to install the new windshield wiper which I shamefully did not turn down. All completed before even thinking about what was on the menu for lunch! So for at minimum a better than average auto inspection wait time, quick fixes located nearby and nice staff Sticker Stop did not disappoint. read more

I went into Sticker Stop located on 620 after work 5:30 ish. Greg assisted with checking me in and Ben inspected my car. The whole wait took less than 30 min and that's because they had a few people before me. The place was very clean and smelled nice. They even had an assortment of magazines for everyone. This is a must go to shop, in and out in 20mins and no bs. The counter help is an amazing young girl that runs the place better than we've seen "adults" do in most places. Overall, this place was great! 9.9/10 The good: - The service person, John, was courteous, professional, and very very quick. A+ - I came in 30 min. to close and they were totally cool with it. - John said my windshield wiper was torn (actually more like 'obliterated' but John is polite). Wow terrible service. I was failed for a passenger side windshield wiper and then came back to discuss with them. first time they wouldn't talk to me since i didn't have paperwork (was still in their system) and second time they wanted me to wait 75 minutes before they would even talk to me. I was not ready to re-inspect and it doesn't make sense to wait over an hour just to have a conversation about a replaced blade (before doing an official re-inspection). Skipped my 4th trip to this place and instead used Terry's inspection shop at North Loop and Burnett and it was a MUCH better experience. That guy is great. So, read the other reviews and be ready for a shitty customer experience and potentially many visits if you get failed for a wiper blade read more

Very fast to get customers in and out again. Exceptionally clean bathroom for an auto related business. Well stocked water cooler. Good location. Staff is always friendly and happy to see us. While they have never failed our vehicles when they do fail someone they are honest and use plain English to explain the problem or problems to the customer. Since they don't do repairs here there is no worry about them failing you just to make money on repairs. I think they do sell wiper blades here but honestly you should just replace those anyway before an inspection. Unlike some other places staff here is never sexist and does not leer at the ladies, they are proper gentlemen who address the customer as they would a good friend. Love it! read more

Found them through Yelp last year, and used them for 2011 sticker renewal. Went on a weekday and they didn't seem to be processing the cars as fast as the reviews on this site would lead you to believe. Had 3 people in front of me, waited 50mins. The price is standard and the techs are friendly. Small and clean waiting area. This year I'll probably try a different place since the price is the same across the board and I've seen other places with better promos/reviews. read more

I went here 3 times this past week to do my inspection. About a 1 1/2 - 2hour wait. Went by 7/27 around 2, 7/28 around 330, and today at 1230. Each time just as long. Not sure if it's because of the end of the month or what. Unfortunately, you cannot set an appointment. You can tell the mechanics there were working hard but they can only go so fast. If you have time to kill then go here. If you are on a strict schedule or cannot wait that long I would choose another place. I drove to a nearby shop (don't want to give names) any ways there was no wait and was in and out in about 15minutes. Price is the same as I would have paid here. read more

I've gone to these folks 3 times and it's been quick, great service each time. I went there and was told it would take 10 minutes from when I got there. It took about 7. There were a few other customers there. The guy pulled me aside to show me that my high beam was out. I know it's dumb, but I appreciated that he didn't embarrass me with that in front of the other customers. Furthermore, he said I could just get that fixed and bring the car back within 15 days to get it re-inspected for free! Please give these guys your business -- if you go in the middle of the day, it takes less time than filling gas in your car to avoid a nasty ticket. read more

This was my first visit to a Sticker Stop. In past I had safety inspections completed at the dealership during service, Jiffy Lube, gas stations etc. There was never an instance where I was unable to renew online due to an inability to validate the inspection. I have rated this experience one star for that reason. The inspection was completed Friday August 31 with a PASS rating. Typically the inspection is available in the DMV database next day. Since a weekend (should not matter) I provided a grace period to Tuesday. As of Wednesday still not able to validate. As a result I will have to visit the DMV to renew. I view that as a significant inconvenience. I will not use Sticker Stop in the future. read more

Today, I took my vehicle to get an inspection at the Sticker Stop. They failed my inspection due to an insignificant detail. I've been going here for years to get my car inspected. No BS, no hassles, no long waits, and pleasant enough waiting room with a cup of joe if you want one. No, it ain't freshly roasted Sumatran or whatever, but who the phuck is complaining with such great prices and service. Also, I like going to an inspection place that only does inspections, i.e. they don't also do repairs. I am VERY suspicious of places that also offer repairs, because they are basically incented to find things wrong with your car that must be fixed in order to pass inspection. And even if one of those other kinds of inspection places (ones that do repairs too) finds a legitimate problem to fix, I think they usually overcharge, knowing that customers are likely to just get the work done there on the spot. I prefer to find out what, if any, legitimate problems there are and go get them fixed at another shop that I trust. For me in Austin, that would be Friendly's Auto Repair on the east side (419 Tillery Street, 78702). I've been going there for years now. Eddy and his crew are the shite!! read more

Slow. You wait an hour, plain & simple, then you get a 10 min inspection. Just drive 15 more min out from the busy area & get one in 30 min total time from pull up to pull out. Had to have tire replaced after failing, told since thats all that needed to be looked at would be quick to pass the 2nd time. Cool, should be quick & easy. Nope i wait another hour for something they could have done in 3 min & been rid of me. Save your life some time avoid this place & their burnt out employees. read more

I used to go to this place because people were good but this time they failed the inspection because tint is hiding the non-mandatory brake light in the back window. Did you know that the average age for women to lose their virginity is 17? I was surprised by this statistic, but I'm not sure if I should trust the March edition of Glamor Magazine as a good source. I found out all sorts of great tid-bits from this women's magazine, like what to wear with my new "skinny" jeans, and what makeup will match my new haircut. At this point in my Sticker Stop visit I would have read just about anything to keep my mind off of my inspection. I sat their anxiously awaiting my results for my car as if I was in the waiting room of a hospital. Luckily I was given the "all clear" in what could be the shortest inspection I've ever experienced. The business says it will take no more than 15 minutes..... and they held their end of the deal! Added Bonus? Their bathroom wasn't disgusting! I have found that a auto body shop is usually the LAST place on earth you want to be using the bathroom. Keep in mind that their location isn't too easy to get to in rush hour (or for those of you NOT form Austin..... 8-7 M-F) Next year I will definitely be visiting this place again. The ladies here are great! I dread doing anything car-related and they got my inspection done quick! I needed new windshield wipers ($7.95) and a new brake light ($3.95), which they had in stock and were able to quickly replace for about what I would've paid at an auto parts store. Totally awesome. I needed to get one of my company's vehicles' VIN and odometer reading verified, so I called Sticker Stop for advice. I had previously called multiple random lube joints to find out how to do this, all of them unhelpful. Melissa wasn't sure about what I should do, so she got on the horn while I was on hold and found out. THAT is customer service, people. This place failed me for my gas cap, which was on a brand new car. So I took it to the dealership, and they said there was no problem with the gas cap, and ran the exact same test and passed it. Sticker Shop refused to give me a refund, so I called and filed a complaint with DPS. Serves them right. They were really rude about giving me my money back, and it just left a bad taste in my mouth. Further, no one is at the counter ever to greet you when you walk in so you have to wait and stand there by yourself. I just think from an ethics stanpoint that if you have poor machinery that miscalculates the gas cap I should not have to pay for their incompetency. read more
