A very efficient and cheap way to get your car's emission test wrapped up. The place is small but well oiled, parking is solid in the lot as well. You bring your car in, they take down information, and then you either wait inside or in your car while they get ready. We went twice and the first time it was very busy and took around an hour but this was during lunch time; the second time was right at opening when the line was nonexistent and we were in and out in around 10-15 minutes. I walked in, showed my paperwork, they jotted down my info and took my car key, and I sat in their small waiting area until I was called to check out. I've never heard of Sticker Stop until today when my dealership told me to come here for inspection because their state machine was out of commission. Knowing that it'd be busy, I decided to stay and get my car inspected. The wait was 1.5 hours on a Friday afternoon in June. I overheard they didn't open on weekends. The interior office waiting area was tiny and felt cramped because it was over 100° outside, and all the customers wanted to wait inside. You also have the option of waiting inside your car, so the parking lot was pretty full with other customers waiting. I liked the guy that helped me get signed in. He was very cheery and efficient. I found this business on Yelp while searching for a location near me to get my inspection done. I went during the typical lunch hour time, so I expected there to be a wait. The person at the counter who assisted me was named Melissa. She was efficient and transparent that the current wait time was about an hour. I'm sure if you go outside at lunchtime the wait will be shorter. The service I was provided was excellent; she was quick and willing to get my insurance info from the app on my phone which I appreciate since I don't have a printed version. She told me I could wait in my car, but I remained in the small office. There were 10-15 people ahead of me when I arrived as I could see how many clipboards were in line ahead of me, and it moved pretty fast. I'm glad I decided to wait inside as I could monitor their "system" of each ticket on a clipboard with the corresponding car key if the customer turned it in. The mechanics and manager managed the order of tickets, and it seemed pretty efficient. Here is where the issue lies; the keys are not in a secure place from customers. I was nervous during my visit when I saw a young, impatient customer hovering around when no employee was at the counter. Had I not been watching, he would have moved his clipboard in front of other people. About thirty minutes later, Melissa calls up the same impatient customer and his father. They could not do their inspection because he recently changed the battery, and sensors were reset. She advised them to go out and drive about 50-60 miles, and then they could complete the inspection. The child was supposed to be on his way out of state for college and did have the time to drive around and come back. The father paid and reached and grabbed keys from the counter, and left the building. I thought it was odd the son stood around after, but he waited for the mechanic to set down his keys. He grabbed them and left. I was called up next to pay for my inspection. The cost is reasonable at $18.50 with a $.50 charge if it's a card versus cash. Melissa tells me my truck could be found out back. I advised her I wasn't given my key. She questioned me at first that she had, but I did not have a purse or pant pockets, so she quickly believed me when I told her I did not receive it. She acted fast and began looking for my key. After a few minutes of not finding it, and she returned, I mentioned what I saw with the father and son. She immediately discovered their paperwork and called them. The father claimed she gave them the wrong key, which is inaccurate. He took it upon himself to grab what was not his. What's worse is once I realized it was my key he took, it clicked that the son realized it wasn't his car key and why he waited to get his correct key before he left. I waited about 5-10 minutes for them to return my key. The issue was the rude, impatient customers. I am grateful Melissa believed me quickly and didn't call me a liar like some places might have done and acted fast. I hope this situation is not a common occurrence, but maybe they will update their system to secure keys from someone just grabbing them in the future. Unfortunately, rude customers were the issue. I would return here because they were efficient and friendly, but I probably chose the option to wait in the car with my keys next time. read more

There's no getting around it -- car inspection is a drag. It takes time no one has in a busy life. There's nothing magic or wonderful about Sticker Stop, but I've always found them efficient. First off for all of the people who aren't smart enough to figure it out, it says 10 minute inspection. That means once your vehicle gets in, it will take 10 minutes to inspect your car. This of course doesn't account for wait times, lunch breaks, etc. I have had vehicles inspected here 3 times so far and have waited on average about an hour. That's fine by me. Today there was 4 cars in front of me 8:30AM on a weekday, figure 10 minutes per car (obviously) and I had around a 40 minute wait to get my car done. WARNING!!! Do not take your manual transmission car here! My husband and have been using this place 3 years now, but last Saturday we took both of our vehicles in to be inspected. My husbands 2006 Toyota Tacoma manual transmission truck was working fine before we brought it in. Afterward, the shifter bushing was broken. Essentially, they put it over the edge by not being gentle. We took it to the dealership and repairs were over $400 (not to mention the hassle and dealings with only having 1 car for our family for 3 days). We attempted to contact the owner via the managers, but they essentially said that they did nothing wrong and that the technicians all know how to drive standard. Unfortunately, no matter what time of day or day of the week I came, I always had to wait a really long time (typically 1.5 - 2 hours). The last time I came, they managed to get my car in a wreck as they were moving it from its parking spot into the bay. They owned up to the accident and paid to have the bumper replaced, but it was still an enormous hassle. My recommendation is to pass on Sticker Stop. Even though their website said they closed at 6pm, these morons decided to close at 4, Never mind the fact that most people get out of work between 5:00 and 5:30. I had to use PTO to get there and it would have been a waste but fortunately, Friendly Car Care across the street took my car right in and had me back on the road in about 20 minutes. They may take 10 minutes longer but at least they don't close earlier than most people even get out of work. I arrived early on a Saturday and was told it'd take 45 minutes to get me out, that was fine as I had 75 minutes to wait before my next appointment. As 45 minutes sailed by, I noticed no cars were going in or out. I witnessed the entire staff spend 30 minutes on an early 90s Honda Civic, heavily modified with a loud exhaust and in disrepair with very tasteless modifications done. They spent over 10 minutes alone smog testing it, blowing fumes all throughout the parking lot and building, it smelled horrible. I inquired about when my car would be ready and that I had another appointment at 10 and they we were well passed the quoted time. She just handed me my keys and insurance and said sorry. Unacceptable that they didn't tell everyone about the delays and allocated all their resources on a single vehicle for 30 minutes. Came back for them visualize I put a lug nut on the tire.
