Precious cargo
Chris M.

Fast af. Got in and out in like 20 minutes and there was 3 cars in front of me. They even buckled up my pizza hut thermos, because ya know.. precious cargo.

Looks like I've been going here for seven years....

I don't remember the last time I didn't go here for our annual inspections, but it's really simple. In 42 minutes, my wife and I left our house, drove there in Austin traffic, had BOTH our vehicles inspected, and returned home. Forty-two. That's like how long it takes when you're third in line at the Whataburger Drive-thru. Fast, friendly. Doesn't waste my time. Well done, Sticker Stop.

Clean and friendly operation.

Quick and painless inspection station. In and out of there before I could remember to check-in on the Yelp app.

Ask the Community - Sticker Stop

Hi! I took a look at the website, but just wondering if y'all do Tesla inspections too?

As a state inspection facility they should, but they may charge you the full $18.50 to do it even though you don't require emissions testing.

Buddha's Garage is the second one. Dave has the energy of a man who has looked directly into the screaming mechanical abyss of humanity and simply sighed, grabbed a wrench, and fixed it anyway. I swear half the vehicles in that shop arrive after being spiritually wounded somewhere else. Other mechanics will look at your engine like medieval doctors diagnosing ghosts. Dave looks at it once, tilts his head slightly like a jazz musician hearing a wrong note, and suddenly knows your alternator was installed backwards by somebody named Tyler in 2019. And here's the wild part: he's honest. Like deeply, suspiciously honest. The kind of honest that makes you uncomfortable because you forgot businesses could still operate without trying to sell you seventeen imaginary emergencies. Dave will straight up tell you cheaper alternatives, better options, things you can wait on, things you DON'T need. I almost wanted to ask him if he understood capitalism. The customer service feels less like a business and more like your truck wandered into a monastery where everyone took vows of kindness and diagnostic accuracy. Meanwhile other shops are out here playing roulette with socket sets: "Hmmm yes, perhaps your issue is... all of the parts." Then Buddha's Garage fixes it in an afternoon and somehow charges you like they still believe in human dignity. Also -- Dave knows an absolutely terrifying amount about vehicles. Not "guy who watches YouTube tutorials" knowledge. I mean ancient-library-hidden-under-the-desert knowledge. The kind where you start explaining the noise your car makes and he already knows the answer before you finish making the sound effect. At this point I'd trust Buddha's Garage with anything mechanical. My car. My lawn mower. A damaged submarine. If NASA called and said a shuttle was making a weird clicking noise, I'd probably hand them Dave's number. I'm going there no matter what. If I move across the state, I'll crawl back on flaming rims like a pilgrim returning to holy ground.

Thorough communication from the technician and owner about the processes and service rendered. Transparency on all prices quoted over the phone and during checkout. Location was easy to find and close to convenient stores or a coffee shop for waiting nearby. Honest, professional, competitively priced, I have no complaints. A room full of salesmen (and woman) behind a window in a large room, all are on their phones. After I dropped my car off they called me pretty quickly with their results. They said my gas cap was loose which could be triggering the check engine light, I need all new spark plugs, brake pads, rotors, and a cabin air filter. $$$$ After tightening my gas cap the check engine light was still on. Luckily this "diagnostic test" only cost me $200 but I was not going to give them any more of my business. Every single item was over quoted. I took my car by AutoZone for a free diagnostic test. Turns out there is an evap system leak. I opened the hood and wouldn't you know, there are two hoses disconnected from my engine. I'm shocked Tech One didn't notice this but it seems like they were more concerned with meeting their sales goal.

I even sent them a picture and a video of the exact bolt I needed removed so they knew exactly what I was asking for before agreeing to it. I work on cars myself, so I'm familiar with automotive repairs and what goes into them. The only reason I reached out was because I simply didn't have the time to deal with this particular job myself. I was told they could do it, so I figured it would be a straightforward service. Then hours went by with no update. I had to reach back out myself, and then followed up AGAIN because I needed to get the job done. Eventually, I was told the "tech" didn't feel comfortable doing it. Honestly, that's pretty disappointing. If you advertise a Jaguar mechanic with 20+ years of experience, I would expect a simple T30 bolt removal to be well within their capabilities--especially after being sent pictures and a video beforehand. And maybe I'm wrong, but it does make me wonder if the fact that I work on cars myself played a role. Maybe they knew I'd have a pretty good idea of what the job should actually entail and would recognize if I was being overcharged or taken advantage of. Again, that's just my impression of the situation, but the way everything played out certainly left me questioning it. If the tech wasn't comfortable doing it, that's completely fine. Just be upfront about it from the beginning. Don't say you can do it, leave someone waiting for hours with no communication, and then ultimately say you don't want to do it. For a shop charging $200+ an hour and claiming to have 20+ years of Jaguar experience, I expected a much better experience. Based on this interaction alone, I'd personally think twice before trusting them with my Jaguar.
