Great fries love the food. Places is run down and a littler dirty but thats how most good food is made.

We are new to the area and we thought we'd swing over and try breakfast here at Steve's. They have very large portions and the food is very good. You cannot beat the prices at all. I always get the Ham & Eggs special for $4.99 which comes with a large pancake. My son loves the Super Biscuits and Gravy combo with ham, sausage, bacon smothered in homemade gravy. All the waitresses are nice and the place really feels homey.It's a small place but that's what I like about it! I have recommended it to friends and have taken my friend and my mother in law there so far and they were pleased. read more

It's interesting to see reviews that suggest the food is either terrible or great. I think the food is really good. I went to a different restaurant recently that serves breakfast and it couldn't beat this one. The pancakes are amazing! they are huge, thick, fluffy and taste just the way I had hoped (didn't care for the pancakes at the other place; they were small, thin and texture/taste wasn't as good, and the omelette was just ok). The portions of food are very generous, which I'm happy about because I get to leave with left-overs. They are very busy there. This place and people do have their own unique personalities, but I haven't been put off by it. It's hard to describe, but it doesn't bother me. I'll keep coming back. Food is great! read more

Four stars because we like eating lunch here. Our breakfast was good here. Not great, but good. The biscuit and gravy tasted good, but the biscuit was very dry, so it needed that gravy. My omelet could have used another minute or two on the heat to set those egg whites, but the flavor was there. Hubby had the layered hashbrowns. Again, a little dry. The came with eggs, bacon, cheese, sour cream, and salsa, but could've used a bit more sour cream and salsa. Their sourdough toast wasn't sour, but after having the sourdough toast at Addi's, no other sourdough compares! We prefer Steve's for lunch. They make super burgers and their fries are very tasty! LISTEN CAREFULLY! THIS IS NOT A FANCY PLACE. Food takes a while, because they cook everything to order. TASTE is pretty good! Steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Omelet was quite good, and they listened to our order how we wanted stuff cooked. Pancakes were tasteless. I have tasted a lot better. AVOID THEM. Saw some super biscuits & gravy that looked like a whole meal. I will go back, lots of good food at great prices. Plan to take part of your food home. read more

My go-to breakfast spot. Super cheap and a ton of food. You have to get the specials that is the best deal. The pancake is the size of the plate and the hashbrowns are crispy. My favorite item is the denver omelet. Coffee is decent and the staff are super friendly. Steves is the hole in the wall diner that I look for in every town I go to. read more

There is nothing special about the food. It's typical diner food. There doesn't seem to be any special attention to detail or creativity behind the menu. The decor is typical diner setting as well. The up side is the portions are really big so it's a good bang for you buck if you are just looking for simple pancakes and eggs. read more

Honestly, I really prefer to not leave bad reviews, as someone's enjoyment or dislike of a restaurant is often to subjective to accurately quantify. One aspect that is easily quantified, however, is cleanliness, and that is why I am leaving a negative review, as well as that I did not enjoy the food. I will say that service was friendly and timely, and they even removed my meal from the bill because I couldn't eat it. My first sight was a mug covered in lipstick. Next was a window sill with cobwebs and MANY dead bugs, right above where the condiments were. It had definitely not been cleaned in a long while. Next was the walls that had all sorts of stuff all over them. Dirty floors too. Then a bunch of cobwebs on the light fixture above the table. If this is what they leave for guests to see, I am seriously worried about what is going on in the kitchen and refrigerator. As someone who has had salmonella nearly kill me, this is quite worrisome. Sadly, closing for a day and cleaning all day long would remedy the situation, or paying a few hundred to have it professionally cleaned, but it has been neglected for clearly a long time. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would!!! It sucked from the very start! The wait staff was not that friendly. It took way to long to get waited on and the food was terrible! It was inedible. Had to send it back. Asked for extra crispy hash browns but they can out ice cold. The eggs were also cold and not edible. I was able to eat my toast tho. When we were finished, we were totally ignored at the register when we tried to pay. While waiting to pay I was able to see the kitchen. If the health department could see that disaster they would shut this down!!! It was the most disgusting sight. DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!!! read more

Got a recommendation from a guy at work, said "great breakfast." We thought at first, "no, not so much." Not as friendly, nor welcoming as I'd expected of a local haunt. In fact, most of the staff seemed hungover. Not that I'm bashing a good drunk now and then... not like I haven't been there but a breakfast place oughta be "breakfasty," a little. Also, no one greeted us or let us know where to sit, people who came in after us barreled right through without asking if we were waiting for a table even. Just rude. Marked the entire breakfast adventure for failure. Turns out the "and more" at 'Steves breakfast and more' is a back room with lottery machines, one small TV tuned to some bloody crime forensics show, cement floor and bad lighting. Then... the food arrived. Probably the BEST breakfast pork chop I've ever had (tho the country gravy was cold). Delicious light fluffy pancakes, french toast and bacon crispy. Huge portions. So, lessons learned: 1. Don't go overly hungry (if at peak times), there'll be a wait, 2. Wait for a seat in the main seating area, and/or walk in like you own the place and just take a table, and 3. Don't go at peak breakfast times, or weekends, possibly and 4. The price is really great! Cheers! (We didn't have one but they advertise Mimosas and Bloody Mary's too. read more

Seriously underwhelmed. Ate here previously and it was ok. Today it was NOT good. I had the Denver scramble. Asked to leave off the included pancake, but they brought it anyway. The ham and the eggs were burned while the peppers were underdone. The pancake was chewy. My husband's home fries were incinerated and his biscuit was dry. There was one waitress and one cook. The waitress was obviously feeling the pressure by her comments and the fact that she nearly ran into me as I was leaving and didn't apologize. Will not try this place again. read more

Great home style food and friendly, prompt service at a fair price. As another Yelper said, this is a greasy spoon diner style eatery with a lot of locals enjoying each others company and tasty fare. If your looking for typical predictability, go to Elmer's, IHOP or Denny's. read more

Let me start by saying that their Ruben is fantastic. I have eaten here three times in the last year, and one time I did get sick from the marinated chicken sandwich so I can't recommend ordering it. The reason I gave three stars is because the dining room was/is absolutely filthy. I couldn't look away from the bases of the tables that were caked with years of grease and the floor looked like it had only been swept for the last decade. Filthy Filthy Filthy. They need do some cleaning in this place. Dirty hand marks on the half wall next to register. Grease all over the kitchen walls. Painting that dirty color would make a huge difference, and cost wise not much, to make the place look presentable. The food took forever to come to the table and burnt pancakes, and cold food. But there was a cook in training. Hopefully he can do better. And they had a man (looked like a homeless man) picking up garbage around the parking lot, and would come in and out of the place. This place is TERRIBLE. We waited about 10 to 15 minutes to be seated, another 15 minutes before a waitress bothered to come take our order. Mind you we were never offered water nor did anyone ask us what we'd like to drink. We ordered our food (and drinks *eyeroll*) and waited... and waited. and waited. The 3 people who had been seated AFTER us had probably 8 plates of food brought to them in the time we were waiting. Why did they get their food first? Well, that would be because they were obviously friends with the guy running the place, who made sure to come out and make small talk with his buddies while they were enjoying their meal... while we waited. Finally, after well over an hour of waiting, our food was brought to us. The toast wasn't even slightly browned (how do you screw up toast???), the hashbrowns were undercooked, mushy, and obviously came out of a cheap frozen bag, the hollandaise sauce was extremely bland and tasted like it came out of a can with some pepper thrown on it, it was also unusually thick, the layered hashbrowns were mush, and my boyfriend could make a better omelet in his sleep. I would've liked to wash this horrible food down with some orange juice, unfortunately the waitress never returned to our table to check if we needed anything, which means we had no drink refills. I shared what was left of my mom's drink, she paid the $55 bill for the nasty food, and we left. We'll never go back, don't waste your money. read more

I like this place. Its quaint, good 'ol american breakfast place. The portions are humongous! Not even exaggerating but well priced. The biggest chicken friend steak I've ever seen, the whole meal came in 2 plates, one exclusively for the chicken fried steak, and the other plate had hash, 3 eggs, and toast. I advice the ladies to split or share their meals with someone. Service was really good. It was this nice lady, who was very attentive with filling up our coffees and didn't even have to ask her for a box. We told she read our minds, and she's quick to response "we don't do small here". Steves is the best mom and pop shop in Oregon that I have ever been to. The food is awesome and the people who work there, Cherly, the waitress, Betty, waitress/ owner and Steve, head cook and owner and some of the best people I have ever come across. If you are looking for daily specials and big portions, if you leave hungry its your own fault, and a price that wont leave you broke then this is the place. They open at 7am daily and close at 3pm. They close on thanksgiving and Xmas. But have been known to even be open on thanksgiving. If you stop I. Tell them Goober sent ya and they might take extra special care of you. read more

I was in town visiting my sister and asked where she wanted to eat . She said Steves. We went and ate. The portions were very hearty and the quality of the food was top notch ! Best Bacon and French toast Ive had in my life! Food tasted extremely fresh . Service was prompt and efficient. I look forward to eating there again next time Im in town. read more

Damned fine bargain........$6.99 for a meatloaf sando and choice of soup, salad, fries......I got soup, and was expecting a cup? Uh, no it came with a bowl of cream of broccoli soup. Sando had a 3/4" slab of moist, flavorful meatloaf, cheese, bacon, tomatoes on grilled bread. Sure it wasn't the greatest sandwich I've EVER had, but it was an amazing value for hearty filling comfort food......there was a line to get a seat, and I can see why. My wife and I were looking for a good place for breakfast in Springfield and we saw Steve's so we decided to stop in. The atmosphere was okay but don't let that fool you. The meals were excellent and well priced and the portions were huge. We ended up splitting a breakfast because they were so big. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. After passing Steves many times in my travels, I finally stopped. The food was great. My hash was the best I've had in a long time, the pancakes huge. The menu has many choices and the prices are terrific. Can't wait to try lunch choices. read more
