I really like this restaurant. I have been here at the bar during happy hour and also ordered food for pick up many times. The food is always delicious. The staff is really nice. And this place is great for a night out with friends or date night. They have live music some nights as well.

Caesar salad - delicious. Rating 5/5 Baked clams (well done)- out of this world. Rating 5/5. Ribeye steak topped with Gorgonzola. I ordered the steak medium it was well. I didn't send it back as it was the end of the night. Last time I was here I sent back because it was well also. The meat quality is great and next time I come I think I'll just order it medium rare to be safe. The green beans and mashed potatoes that came with the meal did not seem fresh. Rating: 3/5 The brussel sprouts were the best I have ever had at Stephen's. Rating 5/5 Chilean Seabass - delicious absolute perfection. Rating 5/5 I come here at least twice a month. Lately it has not been consistent with my main course. Service and quality is always stellar.

Have been going here for years but lately it seems to be in decline. The bartenders on a Friday seem disinterested and after working in this industry for years maybe Im too detail oriented. Pouring a draft beer is a pretty simple skill I thought (see attached pic). Im wondering if maybe they were effected by the power failure as the beer was not really cold and also kinda flat. We ordered an app and we both thought it tasted "off" so we didnt eat it other than 1 bite each. In my experience when a customer doesnt really touch their food u might wanna inquire why........ Again kinda disinterested attitude. Too many choices on State street to not be concerned as an owner/mgr but that just my opinion. We will tty Brick n Brew next time as they seem to have great energy.

I am not too sure why Stephen's has such low reviews. I have been here 4 or 5 times to sit down at the restaurant portion of it and always had such a pleasant experience. Me and my friend like to order a bunch of things 3/4 appetizers a few entrees a few drinks and a few desserts every time we go. Every time everything was exceptional. I thought the food is excellent. Presentation of the food is great. One time I got an order to go and it wasn't ready but that doesn't have anything to do with the food.

Went here with a friend before a show. Great service. Salmon was a hair overcooked, but really nice Parmesan risotto. The potato gnocchi she had was my favorite dish.

Special Wednesday addition of drinks and cheesesteaks with Amigo Dan. We got the Prime Rib sandwich. This is the tale of 2 sandwiches. Amigo Dan got most of the onions and horseradish aioli. I think the meat was dry. It had a good amount of cheese. I was hoping for a much better sandwich. I did like that it was $13 and came with french fries.

I dined here on a summer Wednesday night for "Dining under the Stars" - the atmosphere was awesome. The group that I dined with intended to eat at another restaurant originally but when we learned what the wait time was for our original option, we wandered into this place. We were seated immediately. The menu selection was fair - I was a little undecided about what I wanted for an entree so I ordered the Stephen Chicken, which came with chicken, shrimp, mashed potatoes and spinach. The dish was so bland; I was able to send it back and order the Penne a la Vodka, which pretty good. 3 others in my party did not like their food. Also, service was slow in this night (perhaps it was due to "Dining under the Stars"? I don't know but it just bad. Our waitress was nice too.

To be fair this rating is for a 'dining under the stars' night - but then again if a restaurant participates they should be able to give it their best. The staff was great. The scallop appetizer was very very good. The salmon and shrimp was pretty good. The chicken and shrimp dish was meh - good sauce, overcooked chicken and shrimp that wasn't special. Both cocktails were very good. I vacillated between a 3 and 4 rating and went with 4 because it was a very busy night and the apps and drinks were so good. Prices were appropriate or maybe a little high.

My family decided last minute to head to Stephens on State for dinner. It wasn't hard to find parking right in front of the restaurant but don't always expect that to be the case. We were seated fairly quickly for a party of 6 and we sat in a semi private area which was really nice. Our server came over to take our drink and appetizer orders and provide some suggestions. Overall the meal was pretty good. I was very happy with what I ordered as was the rest of the table. Nothing really blew us away but it was great quality at great prices.

I ordered the Satchmo, a buffalo chicken, Italian hoagie, ham hoagie, 4 chicken tenders and fries which came to a grand total of $85. Phew. This was my first time here, but I've heard the food and cheese steaks were great so I was ok with things at this point. I placed my order for pickup and was told it would be 20 minutes. I came in around the 20ish minute mark and waited for 25 more minutes. There was only 1 other person waiting with me. I did see 3-4 other people come in pickup and leave while I waited, but it wasn't busy by standards. While waiting is when I when I observed how unorganized and dis shoveled the staff were. The lady upfront was kind, attentive, and seemed to be running the show putting orders together. But, when she asked for help she didn't get any. She asked another staff member to help bag a specific sandwich for an order, several times, and it went in the guys ear and right out the other. I could also hear them scrambling in the back working on my order, and complaining about how many Italian hoagie orders came in right at the same time. Maybe they were behind, maybe they accidentally let mine go with a different order? This is all speculation but they were definitely overwhelmed and it shouldn't have taken that long for my order. The cheese steaks were good, and the Italian hoagie was very hearty! They do not skimp on meat, but the hoagie bread was so hard most of it was thrown away. I don't care for shredded gums. Overall, not a good first time experience. Minus a star for the price, minus a star for the delayed pickup time, and minus 1/2 for the rock hard Italian hoagie bread. The steaks were good but everything else outweighed the food quality.
