I originally posted this on Google reviews...but since the owner mentioned Yelp, I thought I would post here as well. "We went here for Sunday dinner and we're seated right away. Although friends had recommended this restaurant, we were grossly underwhelmed. I had a glass of wine (franzia box wine as we found out later) and a mojito. The mojito was basically limeade with mint and we sent it back, and replaced it with a white wine ( see above). We ordered the Sunday dinner and the lasagna, with a side of meatballs. The gorgonzola salad that came with the meal was good. We are foodies and go to restaurants frequently. We found the sauce to be very bland and kind of watery. The meatballs were large and good. Portions were very large. The service was very good. And we took home the leftovers. However, here's where it got very bad. As we were walking to the car, we saw the back door to the kitchen was open. We saw a tub of sauce, open, sitting on the floor with a ladle in it! Do they scoop it from the ground to the plates? With the doors open, who know what may have been in it? We were disgusted, and should have requested a refund, as the meal was not cheap. I'm hoping that they contact me to make it right. Can't recommend this place. Gave the two stars for the service." The owner responded by saying the wine was used for cooking and the nearly full plastic tub of sauce was "a pot waiting for the dishwasher". I respectfully disagree. That tub with the ladle in it was clearly full of sauce...not a pot ready to be washed. I truly wish that he were more honest in his response, as mistakes do happen. read more

Delightful overall. Take out order.Ready as requested. Eggplant parmigiana was very good. Hot antipasto excellent with sauce and seafood offerings. Bracciole was a bit dry needed to be cooked in sauce longer- was much better next day with extra sauce. Salad was nice - simple and fresh mixture of greens, tomato and onion. This is not the same quality restaurant that I've been patronizing for many years. Ordered through DoorDash Wednesday evening. The rigatoni bolognese tasted completely different and my wife's Chicken Valdastona wasn't prepared the same way. The real problem was we ordered the Fried Calamari that was obviously spoiled. We asked DoorDash to leave it on the front porch, which they did. When my wife opened the door, I could smell the fish on the opposite side of the house. How they can serve spoiled fish his beyond me. We promptly tossed it in a plastic bag and threw it in the garbage can outside. I'm so disappointed in how this once amazing restaurant has become some poor. read more

We were in town for one night and ordered the Zuppa di Pesci and the cold antipasti. It was enough food for both of us for 2 nights. The homemade rolls were the best I ever had! Our hotel suggested this restaurant and we were so impressed we brought him back some meatballs! So we get hone and I realize after all this good food and wine! I left my cc there. We had our Valentine's day dinner here. Early seating at 4pm. worked great for us. It was a special holiday menu but I assume the large Garlic Knots and side salad are the same on regular days. The knots were the best I ever had! Also had a glass of Pinot Grigio with a very generous pour. I ordered the Baked Stuffed Sole which was stuffed with crab and possibly lobster meat. It was delicious! My wife had the Chicken Gorgonzola over Spaghetti which she loved. It had just the right amount of Gorgonzola sauce, not swimming in it. We were there last nite .I know everyone is short staffed. Why do u over book reservations ...especially when u do not have enough help.Service was horrible ..food came out wrong .. my hubbys ravioli were cold my didnt come out cooked enough either .We were there for 2hrs n just had salad n main course n a glass of wine Wouldn't dare ask for another. We normally get cappincinos n dessert but passed that up.And also our waiter catered to his larger tables then a party of 2 .He got their coffees then 5 mins later bought out the desserts ...And we were waiting aleast 20mins for salads...oh guess a bigger tip from larger party Always attend to new people who just walked in the others already got food in their stomachs. This restaurant used to be the best, but then the quality of the food started to decline. After a one year absence decided to give them another try; wished we had not done so as it was very disappointing. I used to get the lasagne here all the time, you could see the layers of pasta and meat as it stood proudly on the plate, it had great flavor and always more than you can eat. Not any more - my dish arrived and it was a sudden gooey mess - basically a plate of gooey cheese, surrounded by oil and grease, with a thin layer of pasta and meat hidden somewhere in the middle. The staff and polite, efficient and friendly. The ambience is good. But the quality of the food is below expectations. read more

Came here on a whim and was surprised by many aspects. The decor was old yet inviting and it looked like they had just cleaned recently. The food was just meh but the pours on their bourbon and whiskey are stiff. Each drink was easily a double or more and things got saucy quickly. OMG you better be very hungry when you go for dinner. We been here twice on the weekends it's a packed place and the noise level is very loud. During the week or early dinners seem better for the loudness and not being as crowded. The food is outstanding. The raviolis are fresh made and I want to say I got about 12 or more in my dish. (Hand a meal and a half take home !!). The sea food is fresh and you can get it spicy or mild and the portions are just as large. I had the Sunday dinner and had left overs and still have a small portion left. The meatball were as good as my Nona's, as well as the beef brojoil. The bar is full service and oh how good my old fashion was !! Next time I need a designated driver because I could have had two more for sure !!! read more

I have to be honest... this place has become a weekly ritual for me and my family every Friday night. The food has been a guiding light during the pandemic and something we look forward to week over week... I can't recommend this place enough. Thank you Stephano's! So I was extremely disappointed, I'm a huge fan of Italian cuisine and this was not kicking. So I ordered the lasagna and it wasn't nasty however it lacked a garlic component and just a little too much mozzarella. The gravy/sauce was good however lacking flavors in some fork fulls and salty in others. My fiancé ordered a shell steak and the presentation was not it's best. This place is reasonably priced and they have wonderful service. The drinks are great and greatly priced.Me personally I would separate the dining room and bar area. Change the menu a bit. Also I was disappointed in its cleanliness everyone knows that Cleanliness is next to ITALIANOUS LOL!!!! I will attempt to eat here again in the future. read more

The service at this restaurant is unforgivable. The wait staff is alright but the guy who is the host (seems like he may be part owner) has absolutely zero idea of what customer service should be. Heck, he has zero idea of what run of the mill politeness should be! I will never go back. Never. And PS...sautéed broccoli is NOT broccoli rabe. So many untrue remarks about the new Stephanos in Fishkill. Food is fantastic, full bar with a very experienced crew of professional bartenders and servers. Always a happy welcoming atmosphere, nightly special from Chef Patricio and the full bar. Makes you wonder what is the motive for the negative reviews with people that are so rude as to wait outside to warn in coming customers. Sounds like the competition to me. Since the soft open 8 weeks ago Stephanos in Fishkill has been packed, open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner. I highly advise you to make reservations 1 to 2 weeks in advance. Anywhere you can't get a table is somewhere I wanna go! They definitely give you your monies worth of delicious massive portions of the best Italian food and it is worth the wait. Great food and atmosphere considering the pandemic. They've prepared a nice little tented area and they also have limited indoor seating. I recommend you make a reservation for indoor seating due to the low availability. I had the pork chops with hot peppers and roasted potatoes. It was very tasty. My wife had the shrimp parmesan and that was even better than the pork chops. All in all the place was great and Ashley (our server) was super pleasant! Stephano's is wonderful! Unlike some of the other commentators, I am not a vegan. Nor do I go to wonderful vegan restaurants and give them a 1 star rating because they couldn't cater to the needs of a meat eater. Moving on... Stephano's is a delicious "family style" Italian restaurant with HUGE portions of carb heavy Italian food. I am not on a diet, but if I was I wouldn't go to Stephano's and give them a 1 star rating for not having 100 calorie pasta dishes.. The prices a very reasonable, not cheap by any means, but not overly expensive considering the amount of food you get. I am not poor, but if I was I wouldn't go to Stephano's and give them a 1 star rating for making me overdraft on my bank account ...sorry, I'm done, Just go here it's great read more

Went to Stefano's on a Saturday evening. Wife my 2 sons and myself. Started off with the bread for the table which is outstanding, combination of gorgonzola cheese, ricotta and butter, roasted Italian red peppers and olives. Don't get much better. Split a rather large plate of fried calamari which was probably one of the best I have had. Wife had the lasagna which she said was lacking the texture of the pasta. One son had the chicken parm which he said was very good. My other son had the chicken Ala Stefano's which is chicken with eggplant, prosciutto and parm cheese which he said was excellent. I had the Zuppa de Pesce which was beyond excellent. Comes out of the kitchen in a bowl the size of a football helmet. Filled with maybe 20 mussels 10-12 clams about half a pound of calamari and about 8-10 shrimp over whatever kind of pasta you want. So much food I could not finish it the next day. Outstanding service, sorry I didn't get the waitress name. Nice atmosphere the whole waitstaff were very good at what they do. Good prices and excellent food. Will definitely be back!!! read more

I'm not sure if it's new owners or what is going on, but this place is now completely disgusting on every level. This used to be our favorite restaurant that we frequented weekly. Now? Disgustingly rude management, disgusting food. Rubbery chicken, missing sides, and whoever the guy is who answers the phone is the most obnoxious human I've ever spoken to- he should not be in any customer service related job. Today I went to Stephano's because I was looking for somewhere with really tender and flavorful veal parm, and that is exactly what I got. The service here was perfect and you can really taste what ingredients and components of the dishes are made here. As an appetizer we got Fried Calamari, and it was crispy and flavorful, and most definitely some of the best calamari I've had. I will most definitely come back time and time again! read more

We went here for the first time last Thursday, about 4pm. They have recently opened in a remodeled Friendlys on Main Street. This is their secound resturant, the first being in Wappingers Falls. Food and service were excellent. I had sea bass with potatoes and veg, arrived fast and hot. House salad had tomatoes and onion, bread was warm and fresh with seasoned butter and peppers, certainly better then average Great. Portions are large so if you like an appitizer and desert prepare to bring half your main course home. House wine is very good and comes in a glass as big as a fishbowl, you only need one. The bar is well stocked and again, the drinks are generous. Its one big room, so if you like being by a wall make reservation. Plenty of parking. read more

Worst Italian restaurant that I have ever eaten at! Chicken parm was as tough as shoe leather and the spaghetti was just a big pile with a dollop of tomato sauce that had little flavor and was also chewy. Four of us ate there and the only person who liked their meal had a hamburger. At least they played nothing but Sinatra in the background. read more

Not what I was expecting... I had the lasagna and the noodles were mush. We made a reservation for a party of 8 the day before for a birthday celebration, the person that took the reservation stated that the birthday desert would be complimentary. When we got the check we questioned why we were charged for it and manager said we don't do that here and we don't know who told you that. The right thing to do was give a 12$ desert to complementary as promised, investigate who took the reservation and educate that staff member not to state this to customers in the future especially since check with tip was close to $300. In my opinion, not sure what the hype is about the place, food is mediocre at best. We won't be back. read more

Made a reservation for 5 a month prior for my husband's birthday. When we got there, the host didn't have our table ready and had to create a table of 5 and told us he'd have to change some seating for the next reservation after us. That was the first strike. The menu is bare with not a lot of customizing food to your liking. No pricing on drinks. No children's menu, we have a 3 year old.... i know this is a high end restaurant so i figured ok whatever. She picked off our plates anyway, no biggie. The salad was ehh. Mixed greens with 2 slivers of tomatoes on the side of the plate and red onions in the middle. Not the best but it's included in the entree purchase. We ordered chicken parm, eggplant parmesan, veal marsala and broccoli rabe. We changed the broccoli rabe to have chicken instead of sausage bc that seemed gross together. The chicken was not made in house. I can tell it was some pre-made cutlet that was probably frozen. My eggplant was ok. We received spaghetti with the parm dishes, without asking if we'd like a different pasta. It just seemed cheap to give spaghetti instead of penne or some other pasta. The sauce was good. The broccoli rabe was so bad my daughter couldn't eat any of it. The chicken was bad in it, the broccoli rabe was mostly stems, no leafy greens and not a lot. She was disappointed. I had these high hopes from recommendations to go here. Such a waste of money. I'll never go back. I mentioned to the waitress how my daughter didn't like her meal at all and she ignored me. They didn't even try to make sure our meals were good. read more

The place is beautiful inside and the red wine pour was humongous. The staff was very nice as well, but.... This is NOT a good restaurant choice for a vegetarian or a vegan... for this reason alone... we will NOT be going back to this restaurant. There are very little to NO vegan options on the menu. I asked them to make me a fra diavolo pasta with vegetables without dairy. The waiter had to go to the kitchen to see what type of vegetables he could offer me and came back with ONE... mushrooms. I accepted. There were no more than a total of 5 mushrooms in my entire pasta dish. The fra diavolo pasta was very good, but no where near the Vegetable fra diavolo (no pasta) with a plentiful vegetable variety that I normally get from Tiramisu. This restaurant is MUCH fancier than Tiramisu, but Tiramisu's food and prices are MUCH better. My son ordered ziti pasta with tomato sauce on the side. Although he ordered the simplest of dishes, he was given spaghetti and meatballs (sauce on top). He sent that back and he got ziti with sauce on top. Third time was a charm though. He finally got There was also a $20- open table charge on our bill that I did not understand. We should have questioned it, but we were too happy to leave at this point. read more

This place has been around forever so I don't know how I never went in there, but I love his new location in Cold Spring, so I had to try them for their extensive menu. WOW! I've been missing out because the food here is fabulous! We'll definitely have to make a reservation next time though because even though we were there early on a weeknight, they almost had no tables left!
