I expected much better from this establishment given the money spent on it. It's frustrating to see employees show such a lack of care for customers in a service-oriented role. My mom went out to treat us to ice cream after a long day, and it was obvious the staff didn't want to be there, even though it was only around 9:30 and they close at 10. While I get that end-of-day fatigue can happen, it doesn't excuse the poor quality of our orders. I specifically requested extra strawberries, but I only got 3 or 4 small pieces in a "love it" size, which felt careless. My mom's ice cream was incredibly disappointing as well. Stingy with both the ice cream and toppings she asked for. If you're going to work in customer service, there should be a commitment to serving customers well. It shouldn't be that difficult. She left them a tip afterward, but it turned out to be a decision she regretted. Do better. read more

This was just what I needed! I had a huge craving for ice cream with chocolate and this hit the spot. The ice cream was smooth and creamy. I was pleasantly surprised by how plentiful the toppings were. I added Reese's peanut butter cups and there were big, delicious pieces throughout my ice cream. The only down side was that I ordered the ice cream to go and it was packed poorly. The cups were put into the bag with ice cream all over the sides, which led to a mess in the bag. Went in to try the new Almond Milk MilkShake. Immediately was hit and taken aback by the sewer smell. Stood for several minutes before someone acknowledged me. Asked to try the new almond milk milkshake just to be told they don't have almond milk. Just really gross and unpleasant. read more

If you care about hygiene, cleanliness and safety, especially in Covid times, I'd stay away. Going there tonight was one of the stupidest things I've done in a while. When we got there, the store was packed, so we waited outside for the line to let up. Several groups cut ahead of us, apparently waiting inside a stuffy store during a pandemic is so much more fun that waiting in fresh air. The staff did nothing to make things right, they just let the people cut. Finally, there was a bit of room, so we went in. Still the line moved slowly, and there was no social distancing happening. After all that waiting, right before the server handed me my ice cream, she reached into the garbage with my container in hand. Had to chuck the whole thing. I visited your location on wednesday 9/9/2020. The staff was not helpful at all, and talked back to me. She took a few minutes to help me and make my ice cream. The management of this place seems to be serious lacking common sense. Whoever owns this location needs to learn how to properly train the staff and not have the shop understaffed. There are other times at night when I would come in and only see two people working. That is absolutely ridiculous. I will never be returning to this location again. I will be sure to tell all my friends to pick a different ice cream shop to go to. Joes Dairy Bar is definitely the way to go! Avoid this overpriced ice cream. $7 for a 20oz milkshake or a medium ice cream is crazy. I am going to be reporting this store to cooperate about there poor management and staffing. Jeez. What a disaster. Ordered online. Picked it up. Drove the 20 minutes home found out that they gave he the wrong order. Called them up, the server that I spoke to, apologized and told me to come back and she would have my order ready. 20 minutes back. 10 minutes online. Server gave me my supposedly correct order but explained that they ran out of the cups that I ordered with. And they didn't want the "wrong" ice cream back. 20 minutes home and open to check. The order is still wrong!!! Going to dispute the charge now. And I'm done with Coldstone. read more

One of the hottest days of the year and they had two teenaged girls working the counter. They were fantastic but the line was out the door. They couldn't get a break. Not a good management strategy to abuse your employees and not staff correctly. Many people came and left because the line was too long. Ice cream was good. read more

It's excellent ice cream. They prepare it in front of you and add the flavors you want. The way they prepare it is really cool to watch. It's pretty average price for ice cream. It's really delicious and refreshing. I would wish for more flavors and though the price was average it would be nice to have more for that price. read more

This is my 2nd visit to this particular location in Fishkill, and I have to say I will not be back ever again. The product is great, it's the customer service (or rather lack thereof) that's the issue. The first time I was there it took 2 employees to take my order because the first one couldn't have cared less, and it showed. Her coworker was clearly embarrassed for her. After all of that I didn't even get the flavor I asked for, I just paid for it because I wanted to get the heck out of there. On today's visit (6/23/12 @ around 3:15pm, in case management wants to take note) I walked in and there was a couple placing their order ahead of me and being waited on by a kid behind the counter. No other visible workers were in sight. While I was looking at the menu on the wall I saw 3 people come in so I turned around to be helped so there would be no confusion about who was next in line. A girl pops out of the back with her complete attention on them. The customer doesn't miss a beat to tell the girl what she wants, instead of saying "He was here first." Her coworker doesn't let her know I was there first either. I just stand there and look at them. She starts making the customer's order and then proceeds to ask me "Are you being helped?" I looked at her as if she was joking and said "No thanks I'm good" and walked out. I can't stand rude, inconsiderate people. read more

I applied to work for the store and was offered an interview the next day at 6 p.m. When I arrived a few minutes early, I told the two people that were working that I was coming in for an interview. They looked at me as if I had 3 heads on my shoulders. They asked if I was sure I had an interview with them and clarified that this was the right location. After I made sure I didn't arrive a different Cold Stone, they told me their manager (who was the one who offered me the interview in the first place) had something "random" that came up and that he lived just down the road from the store; so coming back wouldn't be an issue. One of the workers brought me to the back and I gave him the necessary info they needed to consider me a possible candidate. After a few minutes of awkward silence, the kid honestly told me that he had never conducted an interview before and didn't know what to do. Finally he told me the manager wasn't coming, so I said "no worries" and quietly left. I don't blame the kid or the other worker for what happened, but the manager never even bothered to contact me after to apologize about his mistake and about never telling his other employees that I was coming in for an interview. Not a bad place to get some ice cream. Waffle cones are all the same size but if you order a small they make the portion of ice cream smaller, so I recommend that! Lot's of different great flavors or create your own. Staff was friendly. Parking lot was pretty crazy though. read more

This is a typical "fast food" type of ice cream place. The workers have always been friendly every time we've gone here. The service is fast and the employees seem knowledgeable about the prices and specials. The ice cream is just average and is no different than getting a tub of ice cream from the supermarket. Other local places seem to have more of a homemade quality of ice cream. The perk here is the customization - they'll mix whatever toppings you want into the ice cream while you watch. read more

When I went into this store I was drawn by the delicious smell of waffle bowls along with the appearance of colorful balloons making it a very happy atmosphere. The ice cream was very yummy in my tummy. My cousin from Alaska ordered a large mint with gummy bears, sour patch, and pineapple and it also very yummy in his tummy. The issue was from the fact that the young gentleman that I believe is a sort of management stood there watching this young messing up the order and not one t im me did he step into to show her there was nowhere near enough milk for a milk shake in the mixer. So instead of showing g her or telling ta the least he was too occupied microwaving his PB. So.i had to come back in nd ask for another one or to at least add milk the other girl just tells the girl to throw it all in the blender whipped cream and all and just add the milk. The kid from before once again stood there as she was scraping I REPEAT SCRAPING out a milkshake. Managment like bvb this is why customers end up getting mad at vfc the employees. How Coldstone got to be so big I will never understand. However, sometimes it's a necessary evil. I've been to this one before and it was ok, not overwhelmingly good. Not very friendly staff but I don't really care because I'm not looking for a song and dance (anymore). On my most recent visit however the ice cream was disgusting. For the price I expect my mix ins to be mixed in. Not just a glob in the center of a ball of ice cream. Even though it was to go the kid behind the counter wasn't giving us lids so I had to ask for them, then I had to ask for spoons. As I walked out the door with two cups in one hand and spoons in the other I realized that I'm almost always given a bag to carry my ice cream in and then bam - the little one's ice cream hits the ground. So hubby went back inside and said that it fell and was given another one of these $5+ concoctions which was just a scoop of ice cream with chocolate chips all over the top. Bought a birthday cake from there. Tasted stale. Called the store spoke to a manager. He said he had to speak to the owner and the owner would call us. Instead of the store owner calling the manager called back. He said he only give us half off another cake. Makes me laugh that the owner couldn't call us and tell us like the manager said he would. This guy makes a lot of money between the two stores. It's not like we ate the whole cake then decided we didn't like it. Never go there again! Beware. Owner is an asshole. According to the company website, and the answering machine message, this cold stone is open until 10pm. I showed up with a party of 8 at 9:15 pm after driving 30 minutes to get there and could not even get through the door without being told they were closed and would not serve us. I'm glad after reading other reviews, I am not the only person this has happened to, but am very displeased and upset by what transpired. My friends got their hopes crushed by two women who did not want to do their jobs. I will be calling their corporate hotline to file a complaint about this location, and will NEVER return. read more
