I have to reiterate how much Nature's Pantry is a godssend (extra S intentional), especially right now during COVID-19. Be sure and check their website or social media for updated hours, including a super early morning senior/compromised immune system hour should you so need this valuable feature. They do close some days as well, so just check to make sure they are open! Other impressive things that I haven't mentioned yet in my previous review: -a generous array of local produce, including micro greens, herbs, fruits and veggies] -lots of local goodies in general, including these magical scones that they have in a display by the registers. Why magical? They have a ridiculously low amount of calories, given that these are delicious and chock full of good stuff (pumpkin chocolate chip, orange cranberry and blue bayou are my favorites). -local gifts (candles, trinkets, sauces, spices) and beauty products galore! NP is a great resource for healthy food and personal products. The prices are very fair, in fact, they sell Trax coffee for less than any other store I've seen. The prepared chicken curry salad is $4 cheaper per pound than chicken salads at another nearby grocery. The staff has always been inviting and helpful and if they don't have what you want but can get it, you can special order it (Try that at ShopRite)I hope people continue to support this family run business that has been supplying our area with healthy alternatives before people knew what organic was. read more

This location is slipping in quality and business practices year by year. I decided to gamble again on purchasing cucumbers and tomatoes. This is prime season for fresh cucumbers, cool weather. So many times, their cucumbers are imported from Mexico, or Canada. We are surrounded by farms here in the Hudson Valley! For the past few years we've been purchasing our produce from Adams. Nature's Pantry is supposed to be dedicated to offering organic items, non-GMO. What is the point if they are shipped from other states or countries? I look them over and they are frequently frozen or obviously soft and in an active state of decay. The cherry and grape tomatoes do not fare any better. Why not leave them off the shelves? I usually shop at Mother Earth in Poughkeepsie, but if I'm in the area, I stop at Nature's Pantry in Fishkill instead. The prices are way higher, the staff is rude (even management), the cashiers can't do math and get annoyed when you point out overcharges, and they are ignorant about health-food in general. Their prepared foods aren't all prepared in-house even though they tell you they are. And if you dare ask a question, you're made to regret it as you'll be greeted with apathy and condescension. The last time I was there will be my last time ever. I merely asked if they stocked a particular product. (The product's website listed Nature's Pantry as one of the stores that carried their product) The clerk didn't know and asked the manager who came to me with an attitude and said, "For all I know, they carry it at the other store but it's not here." It was like she was angry at me for troubling her with a reasonable question. Anyone can have a bad day, but this is standard fare at Nature's Pantry and I've had my fill of bad attitudes, incompetence, higher than everywhere else prices, and processed food sold as fresh in-store-prepared. read more

I had never been in their Fishkill store, only in New Windsor. But it's still a pleasure to shop there! The produce was very fresh. The bulk foods are reasonably priced. In fact, virtually everything was reasonably priced! They carry a huge section of supplements. I wasn't shopping there, so I can't say much about the prices. So we shop here at least 2x a week for the last 2 years. This place has gone downhill in my opinion. The prices are outrageous, the freshness is highly questionable but today really did it for me. We had a $5 coupon that expired on 3/15 that we just kept forgetting to bring in. I asked the cashier if she could honor it for loyal customers and she said no rather rudely. I then asked the manager who claimed she would "get in trouble" and that the computer system wouldn't take the coupon. I'm pretty much done with this place. I'll make the drive to Mother Earth which at least gives you reward points every time you shop or Whole Foods. If you want people to continue to shop local, cut them a break every now and then. read more

I drove all the way from NYC for these 6 cartons of feather ridge farm brown eggs, why you ask? Because here the XL eggs are $8 a carton and $7 at the farmers markets! If you've ever tried pasture raised organic eggs then you know why someone would pay that much for a carton. These eggs not only taste great but are packed with far more nutrients then the cheap grocery factory eggs (poorly treated caged birds with cheap GMO feed). You've heard the expression 'you are what you eat', well it applies to all of us! Even the chickens! You'll see the difference when you crack these beauties open and see the brightest color yolk you've probably ever seen :) then you'll taste the difference. Trust me on this I didn't drive an hour and half both ways just for the scenery. Sadly I have seen nature's pantry grow over many years but it just is not the store I wish it was. I was a patron of the original natures pantry in wappingers falls in the late 1970s. At this point I am a vegan. Here are my main complaints at nature pantry (Fishkill): 1. The deli does not know how to make a good sandwich. Many times I have tried but each time was a failure. I'm talking vegan. Can't speak for anything else. Try it and see. Compare to Motherearths Poughkeepsie (who would use some pointers but are far better). The pic of the sandwich was smashed into a panini maker and was not fully cut in half making it almost impossible to pick up and eat. 2. No nice place to sit and eat except a few tables in the front by the window where everyone checking out can watch you eat. Not cozy at all. Compare to again Poughkeepsie Motherearths. 3. The staff. They are simply cold and not in touch. 3. The vegan savory options in the deli are not plentiful and are not good. The same for the sweets. Example: rice crispy vegan marshmallow crunch. (Pic attached) it was utterly disgusting tasting and impossible to eat. It had a most unusual taste, chemical in nature. Compare that to the one at Motherearths which supposedly the same thing, only you can eat it and smile. 4. The credit card machines and general check out process is from the 1990s. I have been able to use my Apple Pay at Motherearths for at least two years now and only until recently did Natures Pantry start to except the EMV chip on your credit card. Yet they still can't process NFC (Apple Pay, etc) payments. 5. They have not discount program like Motherearths when I get money back to put towards future purchases. They have a frequent soup card but guess what? You guessed it. The vegan soups suck. read more

I come here to get my gluten free chips, bread and organic spreads for breakfast. Yes they maybe priced higher compared to shopping on line but 1) they are immediately available and 2) we are supporting a local business that carry healthy products. First and foremost, the long-time lack of professionalism by employees is and should be considered an embarrassment. How many times people appeared disgusted by my coming in 15 minutes AFTER opening. Being there one HOUR before closing (after still verifying the hours). Being ridiculed by their deli for not pronouncing things in their inaccurate, midwestern-y accent. This is largely why corporations buy everything up. KNOW that. Especially with the insane price increases over the past year. The prices are going through the roof here while other places maintain far more reasonable prices. Now, amidst the current pandemic, you are blackmailed upon arrival into wearing these dumb gloves. Measures in which do not ensure sterility and do not ensure any safety. Think: if they are brought in, no one has any idea what is already on the gloves, and if they are taken from the cashier, whom you have to interrupt (great idea!), your dirty hands touch these useless gloves, making it all useless. The clientele is buying it. You then also have the fact that as a younger and male shopper, I have had numerous instances of repeatedly being followed, "asked" what I needed (behavior that suggests singling out), followed by staring which did not stop until I walked away. It's par the course from what you expect out of an exurban small business; ageism and classism. I appreciate the respect I have gotten from MEDIUM and LARGE business during this time and any other. Insulted twice and ripped off today by Nature's Pantry in Fishkill. Credit machines are not functioning properly. After several attempts where the machine would push out the card It finally worked. The screen said "APPROVED" and then read "Remove Card". I did so but the cashier said it didn't go through. I said if the screen read "Approved" then indeed it did go through. She called for the manager on duty who was very rude (and right in my face despite Covid). I again explained that the charge went through because the screen read approved and asked for the card to be removed. The manager went nuts and told me I'm not leaving with the food unless I pay for it again and continued with a tirade of insults! WTF? Do they seriously expect me to ever shop there again? I said I've already paid for it and she continued being rude and over the top. There were now 5-6 store employees gathered around (AGAIN DESPITE COVID) like I was a suspect in a police altercation or something. She said to insert my card again or I'm not leaving with the food. She said she knows how these machines work. Well I guess she didn't because after being horribly embarrassed at the store I get home and immediately checked my bank account. What a surprise (not)! The funds were withdrawn TWICE from my bank account (almost $400). I told her that would happen but she was too rude, too pompous and too ignorant to listen to long time customer. I called and asked to speak to the manager and was told that SABRINA GREEN was "off the clock" and would not talk to me. I was told to send a bank statement to her to "see if I was lying".. WTF? I think an apology and a little effort to correct this on their part would have been more appropriate. Maybe even save a 10+ year customer. So, despite the fact that I spent almost $200 on food ($400 after being charged TWICE) I have still not heard back from SABRINA GREEN. DO NOT SHOP AT NATURE'S PANTRY IN FISHKILL unless you want to be insulted and harassed by the manager. Maybe you'd like to be made to feel 2 inches tall. This is your place then! If you are the subject of a cruel incident orchestrated by the manager on duty don't expect any help from the General Manager. Where is my money? Where is the respect due a long time customer-respect due ANY customer? DO NOT SHOP HERE! P.S. I immediately sent the bank statement but off course have not heard back from Nature's Pantry. Save yourself a lot of headaches and problems and DO NOT SHOP HERE! P.P.S. Half gallon bottle of $7.99 cider had already been opened and the outside and inside seals were broken (and there was about 1" of cider missing upon further inspection). I always have a great experience here. When there is anything wrong also the staff have been very good at addressing it. They try to keep their prices at a competitive rate. This is my main store where I buy all my food and supplies over everywhere else. I have been coming to this store for well over 10 years and I must say I have always had a great experience every time. Maybe one or two times in those 10 years I had a problem with an item and always they were always ready and willing to exchange it for a new one. If they didn't have something they were always willing to look and see if they could order it. Just overall one of the best natural focused stores in the area. WHY ARE YOU STILL SHOPPING AT THE BEACON NATURAL MARKET?! Nature's Pantry is the shining light at the end of my dark tunnel. It's huge, you can walk around with a cart and not knock anything over, the staff is friendly and I don't feel like I'm burdening them by walking into the store, and THE PRICES! Sure, any specialty foods market is going to be on the pricey side, but Nature's Pantry has excellent prices when compared to other stores of its kind, a lot of things being priced for half of what they cost at the Beacon Natural Market. My first trip there I only needed a couple things and told my boyfriend to just wait in the car (he's not as granola-y as me). I love health food stores and I go to them in every city I go to. This is by far, one of the most well-stocked non-corporate food stores I've been to. And the prices beat most places. If they don't have something I'm looking for, the staff has always offered to order it. There could be a selection of RAW chocolate, that would make me happy, but that is the only thing missing for me. They do have a better selection of chocolate than any other health food store in the area. Raw food in general. Gluten-free heaven, though. Definitely got that market covered. Thank you. I LOVE the bulk section. I love being able to get herbs, salts, nuts, spices, tea, that might be obscure or hard to find in most places, Nature's Pantry has it. One of my favorite features. Stopped in at Nature's Pantry today for a couple of things. All in all, I find them too pricey for most items, e.g. Cantaloupe @ 7.99. I don't care how organically they're grown, I don't pay $8 for a cantaloupe in July! I did buy a LARGE bunch of beautiful Tuscan Kale for a very reasonable $3.39. It could not have been fresher or crisper. There are some things I can't live without though. One of them is the olive bread made by All You Knead Artisan Bakers in Beacon. I haven't seen it anywhere else and I really can't live without it! Well, NP has it every time I go there. Kudos to them! Another plus is their excellent bulk food department. Everything you can think of, plus. I love their Basmati brown rice. Found some roasted watermelon seeds for my parrot, too. We took home some prepared food for our lunch, always fresh and packaged appealingly. There's a good selection of noodles, dumplings and the like. The staff could'nt be nicer, helpful and smiling. The Best Health Food Store in the area,Fresh Fruit,Juices and Produce that are organic. Prepared Food are delicious. There seems to be a problem in the vitamin section, out of stock on vitamins and supplements for weeks. Had to go to Mothers Earth several times in the past 5 weeks, while I live a couple blocks away. Another woman also made the same complaint while I was there. I guess management doesn't care about losing money to other heath food stores... Before there was a woman called Samantha who always had the shelves fully stocked,now many many items have not been there for over 5 weeks. Natures Pantry has a lot of vegan products. I'd especially recommend the bakery dept. Upon request Frankie the baker can accommodate a variety of vegan baked goods. I am in this store 3-5 days a week. The staff is amazing. The juices and veggie drinks are fantastic at the juice bar. I strongly recommend the C.L.E.A.P. with ginger. Sometimes it is busy so call ahead and have your drink ready to avoid waiting in line. The prepared foods are also fantastic. My favorite foods: almond butter made from the self serve grinder is the best almond butter on the planet. Rolled coconut dates and organic prunes are delicious. The young lady in the supplements department is super helpful and knowledgeable. Natures Pantry is lucky to have her and the rest of the staff. Everyone in the store friendly and helpful. The only criticism I have for the store is the supplements are very expensive in comparison to other stores. read more

It's very large and they have a great prepared foods/deli section, tons of frozen foods (pricey!), great (non-)dairy selection, protein bars, chips/snacks, and best of all -- BULK BINS which have everything from chocolate-covered confections to beans to oats to granola to dried fruit, and very reasonably priced. I also like Mother Earth's, but this place is great too and it's wonderful that they can both do good business so close to one another. read more

I love this store. An enormous selection of organic and alternative groceries and wellness products for everyone in the family, including the dog. The vitamin section is varied and carries anything that'll cure what ails ya. I was really blown away by the frozen food section too. The prices are...reasonable for an organic health food store, so I can't say that it's super cheap but they're definitely not the most overpriced I've ever seen. The Fishkill/Beacon/Wappingers area is lucky to have three very good health food stores - the others being Beacon Natural Market and Mother Earth's Storehouse. Nature's Pantry is rather spacious -- a good contrast to the sometimes cramped quarters of health food stores -- and has a good selection of the departments you would expect at a good health food store -- i.e., dry goods, grab-your-own spices, health drinks, dairy case, produce, supplements, etc. read more

While visiting family I shopped here and at the organic market in Beacon. Beacon is more convenient but I will be coming here instead of the market in Beacon. This store is clean and well organized. The shelves were all stocked fully with many options for whatever your preference is (gluten free, vegan, etc.) There are some cold items ready to eat, a wide variety of personal care items as well as a nice selection of children's items. I shop at this store about once a week! Prices are average. Not great but better than other places and considering we don't have a local Trader Joe's- this is my go to shop! They have an amazing bulk section! Tons of vegan options ! Not a lot of meat options but there are some in the store. They even have frozen beef broth- made in store!
