What a find! Thank the Yelp gods yet again for pointing me in the right direction. We had Ulster…read moreCounty nursery exploration intentions yesterday and found this sweet spot that doubles as a small grocery as well. First of all, thank you for enforcing mask wearing (signs everywhere). This keeps out the riff raff. I don't need to be rubbing elbows with those fools (I say this because we had just left a nursery where we had to cross paths with some 'Murica-type dude who had a family that wore masks but he did not. Bullshit). I didn't get a chance to look at the dry goods, but I spied a bunch of specialty vegan-friendly items, so if I lived closer, I'd likely be able to put together a quick dinner from groceries purchased here, along with the locally-grown produce (it's tart cherries season!) I kind of went to town and bought aforementioned cherries, blueberries, watermelon and peaches. The nursery section is both abundant and digestible. Sometimes I get so overwhelmed at nurseries, not unlike when I was a child facing 31 flavors at Baskin Robbins, that I give up before I even start trying to pick things out. The plants are in great shape, too. I found a gorgeous butterfly bush that I regret not scooping up. I've never seen a nursery selling slightly mature morning glories and moonflowers before! Sure, they are pretty easy to grow from the seed and I have always done it that way, but I think I've forgotten the past several years and then I'm like, fuck it, it's too late. So it made me very happy to see some that are already full vines! I bought 1 each and at around $6, that's really not bad at all. Nice staff, decent prices, pie... I love this place!

What a gem! Great local produce, beautiful flowers, and whatever else you might need to get dinner…read moretogether, plus...the best apple cider donuts I have ever tried!

This was my first time apple-picking, and I am such a fan! We originally didn't plan on doing this,…read morebut my friend and I decided we couldn't not stop for a fresh apple cider donut since we were hiking in the area. So glad that we did! For apple picking, you can either pay in cash at the entrance to the orchards or you can pay with credit card ahead in advance at the small general store. We definitely split a small bag - it can hold much more than you think! $20 for a small, and I believe $30 for a large (but don't quote me on this). The fresh apple cider donut was by far the best donut that I've had: PROS - not oily but just freshly fried - not too much cinnamon, nice balance of cinnamon to sugar - was nice and warm even though it didn't come out immediately and had been in the case. Means it doesn't get cold quick even though the temps were much lower upstate than in NYC. CONS: - cannot be reheated. You have to eat it when you get it. Trust me, I tried this with half of a donut and totally turned into a brick *sob I like how there are local apples and not just the standard ones to pick. One of the drawbacks to picking apples in late October is how most people have picked the trees clean. The other thing I didn't quite like was the amount of "lost" apples that fall off accidentally. Not a fan of food waste here. But it comes with the process so it is what it is! Would I come here again? Definitely as it's so close to the the hiking site near Mohonk. It's also one of those farms that close late. Most close fairly early in the afternoon unfortunately so unless you start hiking at 8-9am, it's almost impossible to get in a good apple bounty AND a hike in. Looking forward to my next harvest!

Rating is for the store. Apple cider was good - though it's better at Twin Star a few miles away -…read moreand the hot apple cider doughnuts were excellent. Also got an apple nut cake that was pretty good!

had an incredibly upsetting experience at this location with an employee named Noah. The moment my…read morefriend and I walked in, it felt like he was looking for a reason to target us. When I got to the register, I politely asked him if there would be more nail supplies put out tomorrow, and he responded in a completely rude tone, saying, "I don't know, not my problem."Immediately after, he loudly stated in front of the entire front of the store and other customers that I "smelled like weed." I am a professional nurse who undergoes regular drug testing--a baseless, malicious public accusation like this directly threatens my professional reputation and livelihood. Even though cannabis is legal in NY, publicly profiling and attempting to humiliate a customer is completely unacceptable. What made it worse was his deliberate change in attitude; he was perfectly pleasant and polite to the lady in front of me, but treated me like trash, making me feel so uncomfortable that he forced another employee to finish checking me out. Management needs to immediately review the counter tapes and handle Noah's behavior. I will not be returning to a store that allows its staff to harass and publicly defame professionals and families.

I live in the area and found Troys while searching for local delivery. It is the ONLY place around…read morethat does deliver. Sometimes its a long wait but totally worth it. The food is 90% of the time, fantastic. I did order a meal once for delivery and was told I didn't meet the required amounts, so I added some extra garlic knots. When the driver got to my house it ended up being nearly 8$ more than what she told me on the phone. All of my food was burned and my calzone tasted like it was all cooked together with the garlic knots so it all tasted the same, like burnt bread and garlic. Was the ONLY bad taste experience I have had. Was disappointed in the high cost of the food along with the long wait time to end up with burned food. I get anxiety about calling sometimes because you never know the mood of the person you are going to get. I think Troy is stressed, and then the employees act the same way. The woman who answers sometimes can be snappy and make you feel like youre a bother. I still order, just maybe a little less than before. Aside from my small little issues stated above - The food is really great. The sandwiches are huge and well worth the price, the cheese steaks are bomb, the rajun cajun pizza is good (if you like the spice kick otherwise cheese is gr8). Wings are on point they are generally kinda crispy which is how I like them. I will recommend this place to anyone and everyone. Its off the beaten path but so worth it! Give Troys a shot and support a local business (maybe take some stress of of Troy)
