I was looking at the prices for the dim sum, it seemed expensive. But, then I looked online for some of the places we used to go in Chinatown, New York, oriental grocers charged a little less than a lot of the places we used to patronize. When you consider they're doing all the work it's really a bargain! It was one thing when we would take the D train down to Grand Street and walk a couple blocks and load up; now it's major operation. I'm so glad they are still around. The owners are always very accommodating and helpful.

The neighborhood is a little sketchy on Main St. Poughkeepsie, but don't let that put you off. It's not fancy inside. The shelves carry mostly Caribbean and Mexican products, produce, and household items. But, there are also the same items you might find in a local supermarket. There are Asian items on the shelves as well. There aren't many fish markets up here, compared to the City. The fish section is quite impressive. Whole fluke, mackerel, gigantic porgies, and other whole fresh fish. Further down are fillets and seafood. There is no fishy smell anywhere. The clams close when tapped. Today I checked the eyes and gills of a few fish - clear and bright red. The way there supposed to be when fresh. Bring your own shopping bags.

It's a small supermarket with mostly Caribbean products. There is a fish department. They have a variety of the usual fish and some from the Caribbean. However, regardless of where the fish is from, YOU need to know what to look for in terms of freshness. The prices are reasonable. I don't know if the person behind the fish counter knows how to clean, dress, or fillet a fish. There are few if any Fish & Seafood places left. See photos.

The sandwiches come with chips for free or fries for an upcharge -- But the chips are homemade and frankly way better than the fries! That said again it was good but for the price the sandwiches should be much bigger. They were dog friendly and very nice which we loved. We will be back soon!
