The shack is bigger. The menu is still simple. The steak plate is still delicious! Yelp! wants me to say more but there's nothing more to be said. Steak, salad, rice for $17.00-ish plus tax and whatnot. There isn't any official seating but Steak Shack is on a landing at the Outrigger with first-come seating for anyone around.

This place was a 10 out of 10 the portion for the steak and chicken plate with rice and salad was more than enough. I couldn't even eat it in one setting. It took me two days to eat it and it was well worth it cooked to perfection. the price was right what more can I say.

A hidden gem next to the Outrigger Reef Hotel on the Beach. There is a path to walk on the right side as you head towards the beach. Once you reach the beach, the Shack will be on your left next to a shave ice place. They serve just three things - steak, chicken, & Kalbi & they even cut it into small bite pieces. We got their steak/chicken combo plate & it was really good. It comes with rice, tossed greens & two choices of dressing - Italian or Ranch. It also comes with a killer teriyaki sauce for the steak. The chicken itself I believe was cooked with that killer sauce. We got here at 4pm & were lucky that there was no line. We passed by around 6:30pm & there was a long line that stretched onto the beach sand. Go early if you can. If I'm in the area again, I'm definitely coming here.

Ehh it was ok, I don't really get all the hype. There is always a big line in a small claustrophobic space. The day i went they were literally out of everything except steak, no poke bowl or chicken. The portions and flavor were ok. There was also nowhere to sit, they only have like 6 high top tables

Pretty simple in terms of menu options, but it's hard to beat that beachside location. I tried the Steak and Chicken combo (personally think the chicken was better) and was pretty satisfied. Most likely going to have a wait time as it's a popular spot on the beach.

So yummy. We got the chicken and steak combo and the chicken was even better than the steak. Very affordable and a lot of food for your money.

Recommended by someone we met at the resort pool and checked it out tonight for dinner. Line was long but it went fast. Ordered two 12 oz steak plate one medium and one well done. Cashier said 20 min wait but it took like 30 min. Luckily for us, we found the perfect place to sit just in time to watch the sunset (picture #2). Food wise, they gave a huge portion of rice, meat and salad. But our meat was cooked the same way (well done) even though I asked for medium. 4 stars because the steak was too "peppery" for me even if drenched with the yummy teriyaki sauce it came with. And yes, it was pretty pricey. Still have to think about if it's worth it. Would I go again? I would but will share a plate next time :)

For the cost of this plate in Waikiki, it does a great job. Pepper steak done right at whatever steak doneness you want. This combined with a salad. I got the ranch dressing and chose to skip it because it tasted like a very generic ranch, homemade ranch would have hit the spot. Instead I just used the teriyaki sauce over my salad. This is all over a generous pile of rice. The wait is a good 30-40 min to order and get you food but it was worth it.

Very tasty and a large portion. I got the 6oz steak plate and it was great. Even the rice had a lot of flavor. They were busy but the food was ready quickly. You just walk up and order right on the beach.

This is the best food I've had since I've been here! The prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous.

Angie Y.

The steak was so dry. My friend and i separately and both were so incredibly peppery. When you order they ask how you want the steak to be cooked but kinda seems like they mass cook it all to a well done. Definitely not worth the 45 min wait. The location is really nice though since its right on the sand so you can eat it while enjoying the sunset or something

Might as well be called stoke shack, such a great place. Come here approximately 7pm on a Friday and find a sweet table for the weekly fireworks which go off right next to here. Simple menu, chicken or steak. I couldn't decide so I got both. Portions are big. Walk up place with simple menu. Obviously we're in Waikiki and prices are high, but this a great option instead of proper restaurants. Check this place out!

Was staying at the Outrigger Reef next door, so we dropped by for a bite to eat. The line can be long because it's extremely popular, and rightly so. Even though the line may be long, the service is fast. Their menu consists exclusively of steak plate lunches, thus the name Steak Shack. We got the 14-ounce steak plate for $27. The sliced steak is on a bed of rice, and the salad is in a separate container. It's very, very good, and is reasonably priced as my wife and I shared the plate lunch, and still have some left over. Steak Shack is located on the beach on Kalia Rd, so it's very convenient if you're staying at Outrigger Reef, Halekulani, or Hale Koa Hotels. Highly recommended!

Getting a reservation for a party of more than six was very difficult since they never answered their phone, but don't let that stop you. We drove by and made the reservation in person, and thankfully, it worked out! When we arrived, we were greeted by our friendly server (Kat), who made sure our table was ready and everything was perfect. The ambiance of this place was beautiful. We loved the dark walls and dim lighting--it felt cozy, intimate, and very romantic. For appetizers, we ordered the bone marrow, clams, escargot, shishito peppers, and duck-fat fries. Everything came out relatively quickly and was delicious. The fries were especially addicting--we loved them so much that we had to order a second serving! For our main courses, we decided to do everything family-style and ordered the rack of lamb, porterhouse, beef ragu, corn on the cob, and sautéed mushrooms. The little ones had the smoked meat with rice and mac and cheese. The entrees took a little longer to come out, but it was completely understandable considering how much food we ordered! And the portions definitely did not disappoint. There was more than enough food for all 10 of us, with plenty left over for lunch the next day. The porterhouse steak was gigantic and perfectly cooked, but surprisingly, our favorite was the rack of lamb. The meat was so tender and juicy--absolutely delicious! Overall, The Cutlery was such a wonderful experience. Great food, beautiful ambiance, generous portions, and friendly service made it the perfect spot for my husband's birthday celebration. We all left happy, full, and already talking about what we'd order again next time. Definitely a place we would come back to!

It came with a baked potato, and they brought all the fixings--sour cream, chives, and bacon--to the table and dress your potato for you. We recently went to Little Joe's Steakhouse on Nimitz for a going-away dinner for a friend. Our…read morereservation was for 5:00 p.m., during the restaurant's advertised happy hour, which runs until 7:00 p.m. Before arriving, we had looked at the happy hour menu online and assumed those selections would be available during that time. We were seated in the dining room and ordered drinks, but no one mentioned that happy hour was restricted to a different seating area. It was only after we received the dinner menus, noticed the happy hour selections were missing, and specifically asked our waiter about them that we were told the happy hour menu could not be ordered in the dining area. By then, we had already ordered our drinks at full price. I think this is something the restaurant should make much clearer on its website and during the reservation and seating process. If a 5:00 p.m. reservation places guests in an area where the advertised happy hour does not apply, that should be disclosed before they are seated, or at minimum before they begin ordering. The difference affects not only price, but also the food selections available and the overall dining experience. Our group was actually a little stumped by the regular dinner menu because the options were much more limited than what we had been looking at online. I asked specifically about the Scallops Dynamite because I do not tolerate spicy food well. I told our waiter that I did not like spicy food, and he explained that the dynamite sauce could be served on the side and that the scallops themselves were basically seasoned with seeds. Unfortunately, even without the sauce, the scallops were extremely spicy. I could barely eat them. The heat was intense enough that I drank my entire glass of water and then much of my daughter's trying to cool my mouth. When the waiter came back and asked how everything was, I told him directly that I could not eat the scallops because they were far too spicy. He smiled and walked away. There was no offer to replace them, remake them without the spicy seasoning, suggest another entrée, or even acknowledge that the dish was not what I had been led to expect. That was probably the most disappointing part of the experience. At a restaurant at this price point, where many items are à la carte, I would expect the staff to be more attentive to whether a guest can actually enjoy the meal, especially after the guest specifically asked about the spice level before ordering. There was also a smaller moment that reflected the overall lack of attention to detail. Our guest of honor arrived wearing two leis, and the waiter immediately said, "Happy Birthday." He had to correct him and explain that he was actually leaving the islands. A more polished approach would have been something simple like, "Are we celebrating anything special tonight?" It could just as easily have been a birthday, promotion, retirement, anniversary, or farewell. I dine out and travel frequently, so I understand that not every meal or service interaction will be perfect. But several things missed the mark here, and together they changed what should have been a special farewell dinner. We will not be returning, but I do hope management takes the feedback constructively, particularly regarding clearer disclosure of the happy hour seating restrictions and how staff respond when a guest clearly cannot eat the dish they ordered. My advice for first time diners is ask where you will be seated if you're hoping for a full menu option during happy hour. The website is misleading.
