Ehh it was ok, I don't really get all the hype. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is always a big line in a small claustrophobic space.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The day i went they were literally out of everything except steak, no poke bowl or chicken. The portions and flavor were ok. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was also nowhere to sit, they only have like 6 high top tables[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This place was a 10 out of 10 the portion for the steak and chicken plate with rice and salad was more than enough. I couldn't even eat it in one setting. It took me two days to eat it and it was well worth it cooked to perfection. the price was right what more can I say.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The shack is bigger.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu is still simple. The steak plate is still delicious! Yelp! wants me to say more but there's nothing more to be said. Steak, salad, rice for $17.00-ish plus tax and whatnot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There isn't any official seating but Steak Shack is on a landing at the Outrigger with first-come seating for anyone around.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

A hidden gem next to the Outrigger Reef Hotel on the Beach. There is a path to walk on the right side as you head towards the beach. Once you reach the beach, the Shack will be on your left next to a shave ice place. They serve just three things - steak, chicken, & Kalbi & they even cut it into small bite pieces. We got their steak/chicken combo plate & it was really good. It comes with rice, tossed greens & two choices of dressing - Italian or Ranch. It also comes with a killer teriyaki sauce for the steak. The chicken itself I believe was cooked with that killer sauce. We got here at 4pm & were lucky that there was no line. We passed by around 6:30pm & there was a long line that stretched onto the beach sand. Go early if you can. If I'm in the area again, I'm definitely coming here.

This is the best food I've had since I've been here! The prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous.

Pretty simple in terms of menu options, but it's hard to beat that beachside location. I tried the Steak and Chicken combo (personally think the chicken was better) and was pretty satisfied. Most likely going to have a wait time as it's a popular spot on the beach.

Recommended by someone we met at the resort pool and checked it out tonight for dinner. Line was long but it went fast. Ordered two 12 oz steak plate one medium and one well done. Cashier said 20 min wait but it took like 30 min. Luckily for us, we found the perfect place to sit just in time to watch the sunset (picture #2). Food wise, they gave a huge portion of rice, meat and salad. But our meat was cooked the same way (well done) even though I asked for medium. 4 stars because the steak was too "peppery" for me even if drenched with the yummy teriyaki sauce it came with. And yes, it was pretty pricey. Still have to think about if it's worth it. Would I go again? I would but will share a plate next time :)

For the cost of this plate in Waikiki, it does a great job. Pepper steak done right at whatever steak doneness you want. This combined with a salad. I got the ranch dressing and chose to skip it because it tasted like a very generic ranch, homemade ranch would have hit the spot. Instead I just used the teriyaki sauce over my salad. This is all over a generous pile of rice. The wait is a good 30-40 min to order and get you food but it was worth it.

Very tasty and a large portion. I got the 6oz steak plate and it was great. Even the rice had a lot of flavor. They were busy but the food was ready quickly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]You just walk up and order right on the beach.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Angie Y.

The steak was so dry. My friend and i separately and both were so incredibly peppery. When you order they ask how you want the steak to be cooked but kinda seems like they mass cook it all to a well done. Definitely not worth the 45 min wait. The location is really nice though since its right on the sand so you can eat it while enjoying the sunset or something

Might as well be called stoke shack, such a great place. Come here approximately 7pm on a Friday and find a sweet table for the weekly fireworks which go off right next to here. Simple menu, chicken or steak. I couldn't decide so I got both. Portions are big. Walk up place with simple menu. Obviously we're in Waikiki and prices are high, but this a great option instead of proper restaurants. Check this place out!

Was staying at the Outrigger Reef next door, so we dropped by for a bite to eat. The line can be long because it's extremely popular, and rightly so. Even though the line may be long, the service is fast. Their menu consists exclusively of steak plate lunches, thus the name Steak Shack. We got the 14-ounce steak plate for $27. The sliced steak is on a bed of rice, and the salad is in a separate container. It's very, very good, and is reasonably priced as my wife and I shared the plate lunch, and still have some left over. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Steak Shack is located on the beach on Kalia Rd, so it's very convenient if you're staying at Outrigger Reef, Halekulani, or Hale Koa Hotels.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highly recommended!

I come to Honolulu once a month for work and this is my must stop! The food is sooooooo good. The steak I get is medium well and melts in your mouth. The Salad and ranch is amazing and I love the soy sauce that comes with it. Perfect combination with rice and everything. I always have to have A1 with my steaks but this steak doesn't need it. The staff is very friendly [[HIGHLIGHT]]the outside area is clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highly recommend!!!!

I ordered the charred Caesar salad and duck fat fries. The charred salad was odd, I think I was expecting a light smoke but I guess they were true to the title because it was charred. My prime rib was the standard medium rare but it took some cutting because there was so much connective tissue that had not melted, the fat hadn't melted either. It was just bad. I asked the server about the prime rib and she said it's supposed to have a lot of fat because of the cut. Absolutely true, but it's supposed to melt not be huge chunks. It also needed the horseradish, it had no flavor otherwise. The server was nice and took half off the prime rib. The fries tasted like a standard fry I've had before, nothing special. I tried the lobster pasta my friend had and it was delicious, everyone who ordered pasta at the table was satisfied which is great but this is a steak restaurant. The server was really nice. I wouldn't come back even if someone else was paying. But my dog appreciated the prime rib I brought home, so I guess that's a win?

We both ordered the ribeye steak, mashed potato, asparagus and fried rice. Both ribeye steaks were cooked to the exact doneness. The size of the ribeye steak was pretty big. Luckily I was very hungry so I finished my steak. The asparagus was very delicious and the mashed potato was very delicious too. Our server, Elijah did an excellent job answering any questions and was very attentive to what we ordered. When the meals came in. He even asked to double check the doneness of the steak by cutting it right down the middle and it was cooked to perfection. I don't remember the last time I went to a steak restaurant other than my birthday, so it's very rare to go to a restaurant and order steak. So this was a large treat to me. The restaurant had a very nice atmosphere with the lighting dim and the music very soft. This visit we came for a late Father's Day celebration. Of course we all ordered steak since this is a steakhouse! We made reservations and we're probably seated at 5 PM. Since we were here early, restaurant was not very crowded at that time, but did fill up pretty good while we were there. One thing that I don't like about Little Joe's steakhouse is that they have the music playing very loudly that it makes it difficult to have conversations over dinner and even give your order to your server. We ordered the filet mignon, ribeye steak, chicken tenders and had sides of potatoes au gratin, sautéed mushrooms, grilled asparagus, fried rice with steak, and garlic fries. The food is consistently good, but I was disappointed in my steak as I ordered the ribeye to be cooked medium, but the steak I received was well done. It was still tasty, but definitely overcooked. My dad ordered the filet mignon medium but it came back rare. This surprised me, because in the past, they've cooked their steaks consistently to order, but cooking a good steak to well done is a definite, no no. We couldn't decide if eating it with chopsticks or spoon was better. With chopsticks, you might not get enough sauce. But you could taste the layers of flavor. Even from the first greeting, Nick made us feel like natural and expected VIPs by doing a lovely tour of the menu, and being ready for any questions or confusion we could've had. All of his recommendations were excellent, and his grasp of tableside presentations and service was truly top-notch! In addition, the rest of the staff - including the very approachable GM Doug - seamlessly jumped in to assist in service whenever needed, even though they were all each very busy. Since I'd put so much preparation into making my girlfriend's birthday trip feel special, I was really anxious - and holy s*** did you guys deliver! Thank you to all the staff for an unforgettable experience, and really hitting the high note on our entire vacation in Hawaii! Must tries: Ahi Tuna Rolls and the Hot-Stone A5 Wagyu (appetizers), Hot Shellfish Platter (Entree) and (omg) the Pineapple Foster.
