This was probably the best hibachi that I have ever had. Just the smells alone make you want to go inside and have dinner? The restaurant is very big he made a reservation. I were seated right away. The food was very fresh and our chef was amazing. We usually go to hibachi and it's always the same show, but with this place it was completely different. The food was very well seasoned. The drinks were great and if you're in Waikiki, I definitely recommend this place.

Located at the Hilton Hawaiian Village where we stayed, we were pleasantly surprised to seat our group of 8 at a table together for a friend's bday. The chef was funny, professional, and fun at the same time. The food was very good, and definitely would love to try it again. They also have vegetarian option (tofu) for anyone who needs that. Everyone was friendly, food and drink were amazing! I got the seafood deluxe which came with scallops, shrimp, prawns, and lobster tail!

I always steered away from these types of teppanyaki restaurants since it feels a bit gimmicky but I surprisingly really enjoyed this dinner! My bf made a reservation but the restaurant was quite spacious and seemed to take walk-ins towards the end of the night. The service was great and our chef was entertaining with their signature onion volcano. We ordered the filet mignon and chateaubriand as our main with the hibachi fried rice, scallop, and zucchini as our sides. Each dish was cooked separately and was staggered throughout our meal. Our cuts of meat were cooked perfectly - the chef will ask how you prefer your steak to be done. Everything was well seasoned and flavorful but my favorite was their starter side salad dish because their dressing was so good! I even asked the server what kind of dressing they use but she said it's made in-house and she's not able to give me the recipe lol. The only downside for theses type of restaurant is you can't add on extra sides if you're still hungry because once the chef is done cooking they clean the grill. Also, the cooking process takes over an hour if your table is full because the chef is cooking for 8 people.

Teppan is always a fun dining experience but Aoki definitely took it to another level as far as service goes. Both serving staff and teppan chef made the experience great. We did have a toddler and it's sometimes hard to sit consistently but there she enjoyed the show more than us which took some pressure to entertain off and we all enjoyed dinner. The food itself is the same level of quality as kobe but the menu selection is one up here. You get more selections of sides and extras which is nice to build your own combo. The Teppan chef Luis was hands down one of the best i've experienced. ask for him if possible!

Such a fun place! When you walk up the ambiance and vibe hits you. You are transported to Japan through the front garden and door. The lively atmosphere is catchy, you are now in a good mood. This is not a regular Benihana or Teppan restaurant, it's a step above. The menu has great drink options, many Hawaiian themed. The food options are next level and all delicious. We came with a party of 9 so we tried several. The staff is so nice and welcoming. They welcome questions and are very helpful. They have vegan and vegetarian options with tofu that are not on the menu but are available. The chef was so entertaining and so funny! He played to the adults and also the children. Everyone enjoyed it. This is a place for special occasions and not just a regular spot. The prices are a little higher and the quality of food and the experience more than cover that. Just know before you go so you're not surprised. A standout is the guava lemonade. The lilikoi lemonade and the mango lemonade are awesome as well They do have free refills on soft drinks and lemonade. I came with my family on our vacation as the special dinner on our last night and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. We will be back next year !

I will say... this is probably the best teppanyaki experience I've ever had! I've been trying to find places like it since back in Seattle where I'm from and can't! The quality of the food is just better the chef is more skilled. I can't wait to come back!!!! Our chef was so nice, cracked jokes, and was incredibly deft. The whole ambiance felt like we were transported to Japan for a meal. We both got the steak and lobster and while expensive, I felt like it was pretty reasonable compared to other restaurants on the island!

I got the Salmon streaks with fried rice. It came with a shrimp appetizer, I also got the lava colada drink, The food show was put on by the cook PJ who did a good job showing off the spinning skills. The group I was with got a verity of dishes. Steak , tuna and the chicken. All the staff that served us was friendly. The place is worth going for the food and the show . Just remember it is on the spendy

Fun Teppanyaki Night - Amazing Drinks, Great Food! On our last trip to Hawaii, my wife and I did Benihana, but this time Aoki Teppanyaki took over the location -- same concept, new experience! We didn't have a reservation but were seated right away, which was awesome. The only downside? They put us at the end of a super tight aisle. I'm 6'3" and need legroom, so my chair stuck out a bit. I ended up getting bumped into all night by the servers . Kinda annoying, especially since there was space on the other side that stayed open until a couple was seated there after us. Now, onto the good stuff -- the food and drinks were ! * I ordered the NY Strip Steak (medium) with Kimchi Fried Rice. Steak was perfectly cooked, tender, and juicy. The fried rice was flavorful, but a little more kimchi would've made it perfect for me. * My wife ordered prawns with garlic fried rice -- and she said it was absolutely delicious. The prawns were cooked just right! We also got a little appetizer plate with grilled zucchini, bean sprouts, and four shrimp pieces (included in the cost) -- a nice start to the meal. Our chef? Hilarious and entertaining! Definitely made the experience fun. But the real star? The bartender. His Mai Tai was hands-down the best we've had this trip. Perfect balance, super smooth -- just wow. Overall: great food, great drinks, and fun vibes. Just hope for better seating next time!

The best Teppanyaki place! Good quality of steak and seafood. It's prepared in its exquisiteness that makes it mouth watering. Price is reasonable, you get what you pay for. Their portions are good too. Service was amazing, very friendly atmosphere. We had a great time with our cook chef. He was not only a good cook, he performs an amazing culinary tricks. He is fully engaged with the us (guests), making it a theatrical dining. SHOUT OUT TO YOU PJ. You are terrific, SUGOI!!! Highly recommended.

we usually do a staycation at the Hilton, maybe once a year. And each time, we come to eat here because the food is good and the show is fun. It is easy to make reservations online. They usually have availability so I'd recommend making reservations before coming in. The staff is always friendly. They seat you promptly on arrival and take your order. They will usually bring you water and whatever other drinks you ordered quickly. I enjoy the ginger old-fashioned. It's a classic. It can, however, take a while for the show to start and the food to be served, depending on whether or not you have a full table. Otherwise, they may wait a while to see if anyone else comes in to fill up the table. The Teppanyaki chefs are always so entertaining! It's impressive how they're able to do all these tricks. They are also usually very friendly and seem happy to be there. for food, I normally order the filet mignon, my husband gets the New York cut steak, and my kids get the junior entrées of beef teriyaki and filet mignon. The kids meals come with fried rice while the adult meals come with white rice. The fried rice is good but a little rich so having white rice is a nice contrast with the meat. The meals also come with a salad. It comes with a ton of dressing on it. I wish it had less dressing. The meals come with a shrimp appetizer and grilled vegetables as well. They are nice accompaniments to your meal. Hot green tea and ice cream or sherbet are also included. We usually get the ice cream. I think I got cookies and cream last time. It's a nice ending to the meal. I would recommend coming here to anyone who likes the Teppanyaki experience. It's fun and at least for me a call back to my younger years when I used to go to Kobe steakhouse.

First time here and in Hawaii. It was really good! Our server was so amazing and interactive during making the food and it was so tasty. I got my picture taken and framed here as well. The ambiance is very nice. Gives very much Hawaii vibes. Pricing is not bad. It was so good I couldn't wait to eat it as you see

I am a huge fan of teppanyaki so this was a definite go to. A corner spot you cant miss. We walked in during lunch time. (No lunch specials) We were sat right away, the service was quick our drinks came right away. They offer everyone water and they made sure it was always full. Which was nice because it had been a little warmer in the days we were there. The chef was awesome. He was entertaining and humble. Had good conversations with him. He also was a great multi-tasker. His food was delicious. He cooked very quick and still gave a show. Definitely did not disappoint.

I stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village for the weekend and it was really busy! The streets, restaurants and beach were packed. So, for lunch I opted for teppanyaki since it would be more relaxing, air conditioned and possibly get a more personal chef experience. It was great! The restaurant was empty, I got seated at my own table and was able to make personal requests to the chef - like light oil and extra garlic! I ate the New York steak, some hot sake, and garlic fried rice. Was sooo yummmy!

Food, service and ambiance is excellent. A little more on the expensive side, however for the overall quality, it's very well worth it.

Can anyone verify if using a credit card to pay if it codes as Hilton?

It comes up as "Rocky Japanese Steakhouse Honolulu, HI". We just went there last month so thanks mom for the info!

Are two people allowed to share a meal?

I'm sure you can. They may charge you a fee but I don't know why don't you call them and ask them

How do you make reservations?

Call the restaurant! Or use the Aoki's App

Is there parking for this restaurant or do I have to park at the hotel?

At the Hotel but I think they validate. The food is great!

How are the options for Vegetarians? Is there a Tepan style vegetable dinner?

They don't have a vegetarian option on the menu but you could order the fried rice without chicken (or kimchee fried rice, didn't come with meat) and add on veggies from the special add-on menu. They do offer some seafood options if you eat fish or… Read more

Ginger Sauce and mustard sauces on the side for everyone?

Yeah!

What vegan options are available on the menu?

Other than steamed rice and vegetables there is no other options, after all this is a steak house (used to be a Benihana!)

Do they have yum yum sauce?

yes!!

I see this Ramen Loco Moco but it's not on the menu?

It's actually available only for lunch; 11:30am-2:00pm every day.

Highlights from the omakase were the mackerel, chutoro, otoro, uni (omg this was so sweet and creamy), and scallop nigiri. The miso soup was pretty flavorful and not too salty. Very random one morning after stopping by kona purveyors in Waikiki, I went to the restroom and while my husband was waiting for me he decided to randomly check if they had any reservations available and we were able to get one for the next day! Getting a reservation is definitely the way to go, I've seen people wait in standby however seating is not guaranteed since they prioritize those who have a reservation. The service was amazing! They are constantly checking up on you to see if you need anything else. I like how they offer different kinds of miso soup. I personally had limitations due to my shellfish allergy, but it was amazing! The katsu we ordered was one of the biggest one that they offer. It's crazy how big the katsu was and surprisingly it was super crispy, light, and even juicy in the inside! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to try katsu in hawaii!

The atmosphere and decor were great very warm and inviting and the service and overall vibe felt authentic. However, our experience with the food was disappointing this time. The tonkatsu we received was overcooked and slightly burnt, which gave it a bitter taste and made it hard to enjoy. For the price and reputation, we expected better consistency in quality. Overall, while we appreciate the ambience and understand why it's well-loved by many, this visit didn't meet our expectations, and it's not our favorite experience.
