The cheese bread is absolutely amazing, make sure to always ask for an extra plate of bread when with people. The fries are crunchy and soft which is perfect. The steak can sometimes be either perfect or with muscle. The drinks are infinite refills with great choices. There's also a salad bar with solid options to choose from. Craving steak for late lunch and not ready for dinner prices...Hello Steak Corral. Yelp reviews helped me on this one. Pulled up around 3pm, pretty quiet ambience and no problems with seating. The set up is old school cafeteria. There's a hanging menu, the hostess takes your order (she was super helpful and friendly) from the yelp pics I had my mind made up on the porter house. Wife and I both went with the porter house, mashed potatoes and onion rings. Next time I'll get the baked potato as they have a toppings bar to make it a loaded potato...nice Thoughts: Steak was juicy, tender and came out promptly. Side dishes were good and their cheesy toast was the cherry on top. Speaking of cherries, pies are available if you saved some room. Dine in I have been coming here for many years and the food has been great until recently. I always get the ribeye which is one of the most tender parts of a cow. For the past few years it has been hit and miss as far as the steaks go. It's a crap shoot if my steak will be tender or not. Last week (march 2024) I had the toughest steak ever. I have looked at the steak served over the last several times and I seriously doubt it is ribeye. I buy and cook ribeyes all the time and the steaks served as ribeye do not look the way they should. That and being tough as leather tells me that they are not. However, I'll keep coming here because I like everything else about this place. But the steaks need some improvement guys. read more

The salad bar has very basic condiments, however I guess with everything getting more expensive and the steak corral keeping prices low, it's understandable. The condiment station is pretty neat. I had regular cheese and melted cheese all over my potato. I got my steak medium rare, and it was perfect! The flavor was flavorful and for a steak dish that's under $20, the texture was really good. I shared the apple pie and ice cream and whoa! I actually like the apple pie here more than Marie Calendars and other known pie joints. The crust is what makes it. Have been coming here for years and I love it, but today really upset me. I ordered a chicken sandwich. I wish I would have take n a picture, but I was so upset. The chicken was a boneless thigh and about the size of the hand of a two year old child. It cost $6.40. Manager offered to make another but it would be the same size. I came here to eat with my family and it was a neat find. The food was pretty good for the price we paid. I liked that there was a condiments station for steak toppings and a baked potato bar (I'm a sucker for baked potatoes). I had ordered the ribeye medium rare and was happy to see that it was cooked exactly the way I liked it. And it was a pretty sizable steak for $20. And the cheese bread was really good. Stick crow is a very interesting little spot. It's kind of a serve yourself but not really you order your meat with the waitress behind the counter and then you serve yourself a salad or drink grab what you need and take it to the table. Was in from out of town for my daughter's graduation & needed food FAST, it had been a long day! Yelped restaurants & found these guys nearby us. When we got there initially we were very skeptical. When you walk in it's cafeteria style & stand in line for your order to be taken from the small menu posted above. Basically choose your steak & 2 sides & add your drink. You make your way down the cafeteria line making your salad that was SO FRESH NICE GREEN SALAD & fresh toppings, grab your drink & then hand your ticket at the end of the line where you pay & receive a cute little honkey tonk related wood block that tells them your table (where to bring your food). Our steaks arrived quickly. Got the baked potatoes that were disappointingly a little small BUT there was a hot bar you could add on everything you can possibly need for a steak & baked potato!! Even grilled onions & mushrooms for steak toppers!! EVERYTHING & I do mean everything was delicious AND filling!! Actually took home leftovers!!! I'm not quite sure where to start with Steak Corral because it's a bit abnormal for a steakhouse since it's very cheap for steak. However, you are punitively reminded that it's cheap at every step of the experience. First off, you wait in line and order, but they bring your food to you. That's where the service ends and it's very short staffed. You do have to get everything else, like butter, utensils, etc yourself. There were also frequent delays to get basic items like ranch restocked. The restaurant is old and not, but kind of quaint. I got the rib eye, baked potato and baked beans. The ribeye came out well done even though I ordered it medium rare. While it didn't look burnt, it had a burnt flavor. Speaking of flavor, it has very little as they don't seem to flavor it with the anything beyond maybe a pinch of salt. The baked potato was small, but well cooked. The skin was soft, so it was probably boiled or steamed. The baked beans were initially not brought and I had to go find someone to complain to. They were beans and syrup, that's it. The cheese bread was abundantly not cheesy; indeed I'm skeptical there was even a garnish of Parmesan. Instead it was oil salt and garlic. It's better than an Olive Garden bread stick, but that doesn't say much. The staff wasn't friendly, but not rude. Just exhausted. I felt bad for them. No one come to check on you, no one gets you things, no one corrects errors without (I guess) a fuss being thrown. While 17 bucks for a ribeye steak is a good price, it's not a good price for the taste. You're better off spending a few dollars more at outback, or buying and making yourself a steak. read more

I'm assuming because we weren't white and I'll get to that again. Its like walking into a scene from a National Lampoon Movie! You're just waiting for the Grizwalds' to come out and greet you! So if it's your first time let me explain what to expect! As you walk the line starts (think Sizzlers) you see the menu dangling from the ceiling, you pick your steak and your two sides. The hostess takes your orders , hands you a receipt and name tag for your order, then you are sent down a cafeteria style line to get your salad (if you ordered that) and your drink (free refills)! Finally you pay and go find a seat! The servers deliver your order and that's the end of getting any service! You want sour cream~ go get it yourself! You want butter ~ go get your own damn butter! Where? At the potato bar of course! So the service sucks but the steaks were delicious! I guess that's where they cut corners! Either you pay for the service or pay less for the steaks! My husband was happy with his steak and baked potato! I was happy with my Filet Mignon, my son on the other hand regrets getting a burger! The burgers are dry, small and just plain dull! It's a build -it-yourself type deal! Lol! The servers can't even do that for you!!! :D He had to order another one just to feel satisfied! So if you come to a Steak house stick to the steaks! Well first time coming to this place and being able to look at the reviews on Yelp gave me a little bit of a heads up with what I was getting into! And I say that after following the young man in the lady had taken my order she passed along to her cooks and guy started cooking my ribeye while I was making my salad and getting my drink and paying for the mail The salad was awesome it gave me the option of cucumbers tomatoes red onions the best croutons I've ever had they were like obviously from their cheese toes is what I'm guessing it's just yell malicious It had chopped a beats really yummy blue cheese dressing and three bean salad and probably other things that I wasn't paying attention to and then I got my drink which was just a water with lemon and then I paid for the mail and it was under 20 bucks! It's a 10 oz ribeye and cooked perfectly tender didn't need any sauce! Then they have a potato bar and it's got mushrooms and grilled onions so you can add those to your steak as much as you want and they're really really good and then it also had a baked potato side that had real butter melted cheese like nacho cheese in addition to cheddar cheese and chives and sour cream I didn't see bacon but that's okay It was really good and here's a picture of my steak and my potato and the garlic bread is yummalicious. read more

It's such a darn shame because this restaurant could really be a perfect place for families and dates. The menu is awesome and the prices are good. I mean you get what you pay for the steaks are mediocre. But I could NOT get past the filth of the restaurant. All young kids working and none of them doing their job. The tables were dirty and not cleared and the floor was disgusting! It really made me have second thought about finishing my meal because if the front end looked like this than the back end was probably worse I'm sure that if they could hire a manger to oversee the staff and instruct them to clean up the place it might start thriving with customers. It's too bad because this place has history with the community, it's been there for a long time. Such a disappointment. The owner should go in and check on these things. I have been dining here now and then since the mid 70's. Like legendary places "the Pantry" that gets it charm from not being redecorated over the decades, Steak Corral stays the same. Antique miner and cowboy tools on the walls and the best salad bar deal in the state make this a warm experience that keeps me going back. I have only had one bad meal ever 4 years ago and am sure that cook is long gone. The owner is very nice and cares about his customers. read more

My experience with the service here was awful! The girl helping us took our order, gave us our table topper, and left. So, we helped ourselves at the salad bar, and went to pick a table to sit at. We assumed we would get the bill at the end, and pay after we finish our food. There wasn't staff to direct us so we thought we were okay to sit down. I noticed we were waiting quite a bit for our food so I looked over to the kitchen to see if our order was ready to be ran to our table. As I was looking, I noticed another girl look back at our table and laugh. I walked back to the front and asked the girl who had helped us initially about our order and she said something along the lines of "oh, you guys have to pay first... I'll tell them to put the order in right now". I understand that this was a miscommunication issue, but it could have been solved earlier. The staff who helped us initially knew that we sat before paying (again, we weren't directed to pay so we assumed we would get the bill at the end), and proceeded to let us wait and walk by us while our food wasn't even sent to the kitchen yet. The service was bad, there was mold on the roof of the salad bar, the steak was supperrrrr tough, and we saw a small dog running around the kitchen. This is clearly a family place and looks to have been around for a long time, but please, do better for the community who shows up for you. read more
